My favorite restaurant!

This is my favorite restaurant on the island!
The interior is beautiful, the presentation is amazing, and the food is so delicious!
Since being vegan I've missed sushi and this vegan sushi tastes better than any fish sushi I've ever eaten. It's so fresh, and the flavors are superb!
I highly recommend this restaurant!

Amazing food

A unique vegan dining experience. The wedge roll is one of the best things I have ever eaten. If in Honolulu this place is a must. Service is great and price is not too bad. 8 dollars for a classic roll and 15 for he more unique ones. Give it a try.

Vegan Izakaya

Great and friendly wait staff, no where near the lines and wait of their sister restaurant,Shizen, in San Francisco. I actually like the options for rolls better at Tane. The Sf restaurant is heavy on fried options. This one gives option of simple rolls like avo rolls, which is all you want sometimes. Decor was beautiful.

Pros: So many vegan roll options, Walk ins possible w/o reservations, Beet salad so ONO!

Cons: None!

Fantastic

Stopped in without a reservation and was seated relatively quickly despite a pretty full house. Service was great- fast and friendly. But the food... I cannot speak highly enough about the sushi. My husband and I shared 4 different rolls: Pokai, sunset, Philadelphia, and a spicy tuna. So well done and delicious. I’m thrilled there’s quality vegan sushi on island now. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

Awesome!

This place was popping! Make a reservation so you don’t have to wait. We got lucky and only had to wait 15 minutes. First, the staff is on point- everyone was super friendly. The place was clean and had great ambiance . The food was AMAZING! My husband and I shared the Sunset roll and the Philadelphia roll. He ordered Ramen and I had a salad with tofu and roasted cashews. The sushi rolls were killer- best I have ever had. My hubs slurped up every last bit of his Ramen, which says a lot since he’s used to the real deal in Japan. You won’t regret visiting this gem of a restaurant.

Pros: Taste/Food options , Quick Service , Outstanding Customer Service

Cons: Parking can be tricky on a Friday night

Amazing! So happy they are here!

Much attention to detail in the design of this restaurant...very Zen and very thought out. Beautiful place in every way! But the highlight of course is the AMAZING food! Just as delicious as their sister restaurant in SF, Shizen. Seriously the most creative and delicious sushi ever. We've been twice since they opened and there isn't a thing we've ordered that we didn't love! Salads, soups, appetizers and rolls are super delicious with a burst of flavors in every bite. Some of our favorite rolls include the sunset, the Baker, Pacifica, and the point reyes and others I can't think of. The beet salad, the tofu poke salad, the cucumber wakame salad, all delicious and best of all, completely plant based and vegan!! So thrilled to have Tane Vegan Izakaya here on Oahu. It will be a frequent for us for sure!!

Pros: All vegan!, Amazing flavors for your taste buds to savor!

Amazing all Vegan Japanese Izakaya on Oahu!

My wife and I just heard about this place opening up via a few instagram posts and have to say that it is incredible.

Location - Almost next door / walking distance from the McCully Union Service for reference.

Parking - Some street parking, also there is a small parking lot with available stalls if you drive just past the restaurant. It's the first drive way in on your left. Maybe 12 spots or so available.

Experience - Incredible! The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are warm, friendly, and very hard working. The place was slammed! We went on their 7th day open and the place was packed with people arriving for reservations. Luckily we were able to be squeezed in and sit at the bar. And it was packed for good reason, the food is awesome!

Food - We saw some pictures of the menu and knew they had plenty of sushi to choose from, but for our first visit we were interested in the ramen and the croquette. The broth was full of depth in flavor, noodles were perfect, and the additional fixings on top like the bamboo shoots were bursting with flavor. A very nice surprise to find such a great vegan ramen now on the island! The croquette is also highly recommended. It comes with 4 pieces and a small mixed green in the middle as a refresher. Definitely a great side to add on to whatever you want as a main. We didn't sample the sushi this trip, but will be back plenty of times to try it out in the future.

Tips - Call or e-mail to make a reservation. We were lucky to be seated. Once the word gets out even more about this place, it will most likely be reservation only due to demand and space. Don't hesitate to call the day before or further in advance just to be sure.

Also take the time to review the menu as there are some hidden gems in there. The benefit of sitting right at the bar was we got a first look at all the rolls coming out and there are some amazing combinations.

Overview - Great food, great atmosphere for a special occasion or casual dining, great staff that are attentive and care. Hands down best vegan restaurant on the island, and I'll add better than any vegan Japanese food we've had in California.

Pros: Amazing food, Amazing staff, Great vibe

Cons: Parking can be rough depending on time of day

New fave spot on Oahu!

Everything we ordered was so good! The wedge might be one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had and the Brussels sprouts with wasabi aioli was also delicious. Having a 100% vegan sushi place on Oahu is such a treat and I can't wait to eat here again!!

Pros: Creative, Flavorful, They know what they're doing!

Cons: Specialty rolls are a bit pricey ($15 each)

Absolute Genius!

Genius! I am in awe of Kin’s incredible talent! Beautiful, creative, delicious food - absolute perfection. And, the modern, Japanese esthetic of the restaurant is elegant, sophisticated, yet casual and cozy. Tane Vegan Izakaya is a game changer!
