Vegan sushi! - Edit
All vegan, nice vibe, and reasonably priced! Tried the gyoza, plus a few rolls. My favorite was the Wedge roll.

Unique and Delicious - Edit
We were able to get an early reservation on Yelp and the food was worth the wait. It was a quick $15-ish Uber ride from our Waikiki hotel. Quick service and authentic vegan sushi!

My favorite restaurant - Edit
If you live in Honolulu you know that finding good vegetarian or vegan places to eat out is so hard! While Tane is a little bit on the fancy/pricey side, it’s worth every penny!
Read moreThey have a good variety of completely vegan Japanese food, with the main attraction being vegan sushi (how cool is that)! They also have amazing vegan ramen, tempura, katsu, and more. Their garlic edamame is soooo fire!

Excellent Sushi - Edit
With a Japanese completely Vegan menu you can’t go wrong! Tane is a favourite of mine and my friends, and a winner with my non-vegan friends as well! If you’re a vegan on Oahu it’s an absolute must try!

Wow, fantastic vegan food - Edit
Love this place. Had two shared plates, Brussel sprouts and Tempura, both wonderful. Brussel sprouts were in a spicy sauce (not too spicy) and Tempura was very good. Had two appetizers, the spring rolls which were amazing (orange sauce was out of this world) and Gyoza (pot stickers). Also had grilled mushrooms shared plate, and oh goodness the BBQ flavoring was amazing. Had iced tea and lemonade, both great. Vegan cheesecake wonderful

Amazing restaurant - Edit
Our family with 5 members from age 7 to 80 all enjoyed Tane Vegan’s food A Lot! They provide wonderful dining environment, clean and good space. Food is creatively prepared with many surprises including couple kinds of edible flowers. They also provide a special menu for customers who are allergic to garlic and onion. We specifically love Mango nigiri, Ewa and Leahi.

450 dollar sushi order - Edit
So I was in oahu for my wedding in a house I rented with 18 non vegans. I wanted to try everything on the menu and feed my friends. It was epic and so worth the money best vegan sushi ever. It was great to get fancy rolls, rather than plain Jane ones. I did do take out so I can't really say much about the so restaurant but it looked super fancy and I will definitely go next time I'm here. I wish I took a picture of the whole order at the beginning but I forgot because I was excited to eat.

Sushi heaven - Edit
Lots of great sushi options! They also have ramen and very interesting Share Plates (the tane katsu was insane!).

I suggest speaking with the server to ensure that you're ordering Specialty Rolls with complimentary flavor profiles. You don't want to order rolls that are too similar to each other.

I’d been to the sister restaurant in SF and was stoked to try Tane Vegan when I visited Oahu. Everything we tried was delicious! Loved the rolls, very cool vibe, just bummed there weren’t desserts the night we went. Will definitely come back next time we’re on Oahu.

Crushingly good. - Edit
We had a fantastic dinner here. As a large group, we sampled quite a bit of the menu, from the appetizers and the small plates to ramen and signature rolls. Everything was expertly crafted, service was quick and helpful. I’d go back any time. Nice selection of sake to boot.

Super Sampler - Edit
We didn't make a reservation, but were able to sit at the bar. We ordered a few items, ate, and then ordered a few more. All of them were served quickly. The miso soup had a flavorful broth. The Gyoza (pan-fried vegetable and tofu dumplings) were tasty. Our server recommended The Wedge-a tempura roll with spicy tofu, mushroom, green onion, ichimi, sesame, spicy aioli, and sweet soy. I was worried it would be spicy, but it wasn't. The enoki nigiri had a strong flavor and slimy consistency I did not like, but I did enjoy the gobo nigiri. The Shizen Shiitake was deep-fried with a slightly sweet sauce. The Tane Katsu (marinated garlic shoyu patty, panko, mix greens, and carrots) was served with a similar sauce. The Futo Maki (age tofu, spinach, shiitake, kanpyo, inari, and pickled radish) was so large, it was difficult to eat. Overall, I enjoyed 7/8 of the dishes.

Yummmmm, walkable from Waikiki - Edit
Book ahead, this place is rightfully popular! We had a delicious meal, and tried the bao buns (great), gyoza (eh), grilled mushrooms (outstanding), ramen (fine), and some specialty sushi rolls that were decadent and satisfying. We could see why most people around us were focusing on the sushi and not ordering ramen; it's really the area where they shine, along with the mushroom dish, which I could eat every day. Lovely ambience.

Best vegan meal we’ve had in our 3 years eating vegan. So bummed we have to go back to ho hum meals. The Wedge and Half Moon out of this world. Loved the bao. Someone we met at our hotel mentioned they ate here and it was awesome and now I’m telling you.

Reliable vegan food - Edit
This is a good option for when you want a fancier vegan meal. I've been eating here for years. The food is consistently elegantly presented and the atmosphere feels high end. The service is usually good. The sushi and ramen are always tasty. Unfortunately the dessert is usually uninspired but it as japanese restaurant so no surprise there. I often eat here with a gluten free friend. She has never gotten sick in all the times we've come here. That's rare because she's pretty sensitive to cross contamination. So they run a tight kitchen.

Perfect Place to Pig Out on Sushi - Edit
We went here for my birthday. There were five of us, and we ordered just about half the menu between us. It was so much fun! I cannot remember what all the dishes are called that we got. A few of the rolls and the agedashi tofu were disappointing, but over all the food was phenomenal. We had meat eaters in our party, and by far the biggest hit with them was the bao. One even said it was the best bao he's ever had! Out of everything we tried, two of us (including me) loved the Avocado Nigiri the best. It's so simple, but the flavors are just perfectly balanced into the perfect bite. The other memorable dish was the roll with the beet slices on it. I can't remember what it's called, but it was so unusual. You truly have to eat the whole giant piece at once to experience all the complex flavors working together. Overall yes, go here, you wont regret it if you love good sushi. :)
