Delicious, beautiful food - Edit
We have eaten at the San Francisco sister restaurant several times. This Oahu location stands out because you can make reservations! Everything we ordered, and we did order a lot, was beautiful and delicious and satisfying! The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly and attentive! We are long-term, ethical vegans, and have access to this on vacation is amazing. Got a second reservation for the same week!

New Items on the menu - Edit
Whenever we visit family here in Honolulu, we always come here - we even took our non vegan relatives here for dinner. Our server suggested to try “Negima” (grilled marinated “chicken” skewers) and the Monterey, one of the specialty rolls. We ordered these and the Sunrise. Everything was great as was the service.

So delightful - Edit
I got sushi to go from Tane Vegan Izakaya before flying home on a red-eye. It was so delicious, inventive, and perfect. I love that they have gluten free versions of sushi ingredients I can’t usually eat like tempura sweet potato. This was my favorite meal while visiting Honolulu; my only regret is waiting so long to go!

Excellent Japanese vegan - Edit
I’ve been to the Berkeley and Honolulu locations and all the food so far has been great. Loved the Manila Dune and Pt Reyes rolls. Tonight tried the more expensive chefs nigari and that was good but not great.

Gluten-free and Mind Blown! - Edit
Sooo happy right now. Most of the menu is GF as well as being 100% vegan. The flavours were fantastic. Don’t go past the garlic oil soy reduction edamame! We also enjoyed agedashi tofu (less broth; don’t order rice), vegetable tempura (so excited for GF!), pickled mango and citrus crema nigiri, and some avocado rolls.
Read moreThe shiitake tempura was super yum and a plate of just that can be ordered also.
Only one dessert was on offer and it contained gluten. The waiter said that people ask a lot about whether it has gluten, so maybe that’s an indicator..?!
Good service, cool vibe. Very happy tummy.

We went to Tane Vegan tonight for dinner close to Waikīkī (free parking in lot).
Read moreWe had nice friendly service but the food!! Wow!..the food was magic for the mouth! So many wonderful flavors! We had vegan bao ,crispy Brussels sprouts with dragon sauce and a few of their delicious sushi rolls to share. Prices were just right… not too expensive we felt it was very fair for the quality of food we ate. We will be back next time we are in Honolulu..
Pros: Brussels sprouts, vegan Bao, Sushi
Cons: Area isn’t the prettiest but inside is super cute

Great food, definitely coming back! - Edit
Even though we're here for just a week, I hope we get to come back for the ramen and non-sushi dishes. They have a wise variety of nigiri, maki, and rolls. We especially enjoyed the "Kailua" mango-tomato roll with shiitake, with a nice smokey twist. Not too crazy about the matcha beer and the "Barbers" roll because the beets just dominate everything, but the rest was fine. Look at their website before you go, they have a gorgeous illustrated menu that is not available at the restaurant.

This is a kind of place with a menu that is enticing all over. We had The Wedge, the Philadelphia, the Tofuna, Mango Nigiri, and the Lilikoi cheesecake. It was an incredible meal - everything was delicious and new.

Reviews are high for a reason! - Edit
I ordered takeaway right as the doors opened. The hostess was so nice and my order was completed incredibly quickly.
Read moreI had the Shizen Shittake mushrooms, Pokai roll, and Kailua roll. The rolls were fantastic but the mushrooms? WHAT?! I wish I would have ordered more! I couldn’t stop audibly “mmmm”ing after ever bite! I had never had a tofu stuffed mushroom but I am for sure going to try and make them at home, now!
The rolls were super fresh, flavorful, and absolutely beautiful. The sauces was delish! While they were both delicious, if I had to choose, I think I like the Pokai the best.
Definitely don’t skip out on this restaurant. I can only imagine everything on the menu is just as tasty!

Absolutely perfect vegan sushi - Edit
This is the spot to go if you’re looking for plant-based sushi on the island! And it’s not just veggies wrapped up in a roll, they carefully craft their ingredients to create sushi that is original and so delicious you’ll wanna keep coming back. 🤍
Read moreI always get the wedge because it’s extremely flavorful and has a delightful crunch. I believe it’s one of their best sellers 🔥 all the rolls are out of this world though and even the ramen was impressive!
It’s verrrrry expensive but totally worth it for a date night or dinner with a group. 5/5 ⭐️ for sure
Pros: Every roll is fire, Ramen is amazing, Friendly and super helpful staff
Cons: Expensive af (but hey lol) , Literally nothing else ☺️

Sushi - Edit
I agree that the sushi is the star here. Ordered the wedge and Pacifica specialty rolls, garlic miso ramen, edamame, and gyozas. The wedge roll was the best thing, in my option. Next I would say the ramen. All in all, definitely a nice sushi spot. My next visit I will focus on the sushi. I would recommend to make a reservation as well if you want a table and are opposed to bar seating.

Everything we ordered was pretty good, esp the shizen shiitake and the wedge roll. Price makes sense for Hawaii and the restaurant’s atmosphere. Service was great too.

Sushi has never been my favorite, mostly because I’m bored of getting an avocado roll or any of the few other classic options for vegans. This place completely solves that problem with a ton of beautiful, complicated, and DELCIOUS, options. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

This is the original Tane, and it lives up to its reputation! If you’ve been to the Berkeley Tane, you’ll find it has a very similar menu with the exception of a couple of local dishes. The Pokai roll was quite good.

Tane Sushi in Honolulu is a true gem in the world of fine dining. What sets it apart is not only its incredible sushi but also the fact that this delicious restaurant is completely vegan! The staff is fantastic, always attentive to your needs. We had the pleasure of sharing some of the best sushi we've ever had. Just a heads-up: make sure to make your reservations well in advance, as this place is understandably popular!

Best vegan sushi ever - Edit
Delicious and innovative vegan sushi. Everything we had here was amazing. They used smoking and other techniques to bring unique flavor profiles to the dishes. We got both take out one time and ate in- both were great. This is a place that makes you so grateful for the innovation occurring in vegan food! A must hit if you’re in Oahu.
