Bad and unfriendly - Edit
I found this to be a very unfriendly place. The owners seem to view customers as an imposition. There are plenty of other vegan options in Calgary. Choose one of them.

A gem to find - Edit
I found this wonderful Vietnamese vegan restaurant on Happy Cow. So I walked from the hotel following the Happy Cow app navigation. I was tired after having travelled 25 hours from Australia to Calgary in Canada, only to find they were closing. They were so generous and stayed open for me. The owner and staff were friendly and the meal was sumptuous as the pictures show. Much of the food is made on site, including sauces, and tofu, and free from preservatives. Well priced.

Great vegan food! I took my family of meat-eaters there, and even they enjoyed it! It's very small, so if you want to eat in, make sure you make a reservation (no exceptions!)

Phocking delicious. - Edit
The curry soup was probably the best Vietnamese noodle soup I’ve had in my entire life, and that includes eating pho in Vancouver, BC and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 🙌🏼

Enjoy a pretty broad Vietnamese menu, all vegan. Very friendly help and there are many exciting dishes beyond pad Thai. The soups in particular are delicious but we loved everything we tried (we went back again!).

loved this place! popular also with non-vegans - Edit
I persuaded my sister and my husband ( both omnivores) to try this place tonight. We all loved it. For me it was a thrill to have so much choice! We each had something different ( Coconut curry Pho, Pad Thai, Yellow curry tofu), after enjoying two kinds of spring rolls. Delicious flavours! Service was friendly and helpful. I found out that 70% of their customers are not vegan. Nice Asian food, and I will return. So will my sister, who lives here. Even my carnivore husband was very happy with his meal and would come back

best vegan vietnamese - Edit
This place has the best Vietnamese food I have ever had - and that includes from before I went vegan. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, the dishes are authentic and there is so much variety.
Read moreThe paradise rolls are a must try, and all my non-vegan friends, one of whom's parents are from Vietnam and use to run a Vietnamese restaurant, say the pho dac biet tastes just like the real thing, if not better.
The restaurant is not filthy dirty. It's a small, run down space, so has signs of wear and tear. Calgary is a tough city to own a vegan restaurant, and they do what they can with the space provided. Besides that, the kitchen is kept clean - it is small so looks crowded, but it is NOT dirty. The owners pride themselves on using fresh, clean ingredients and providing healthy, delicious meals to their customers.

so filthy dirty - Edit
Came in with 5 friends and was completely blown away by how dirty the restaurant was. We couldn't even stay. It wouldn't ever pass a health inspection. Be very careful not to order take out. Too bad because the on line menu looked good. But it is not that restaurant in person.

Awesome - Edit
Just had dinner at this mom-and-pop restaurant. Place is small and seating is limited, but we arrived within an hour of closing and were one of the only two tables there on this Saturday evening. We ordered the tofu cha dum (Vietnamese steamed "meat" loaf), the fresh paper rolls, the pho ap chao (tofu and veggies over crispy rice noodles), and the pad thai. The food was absolutely delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. The tofu here was particularly exceptional. Make sure to try it!

Truly delicious - Edit
Went here on a holiday Monday evening, and it was quite busy even though we had a reservation (ended up waiting 20 minutes for our table past our reservation time). Having said that, it was well worth the wait. The food was so tasty, and it was priced very reasonably. Extremely flavourful - better than the average Vietnamese restaurant for sure vegan or no.

family-run, tasty Vietnamese - Edit
This place is tiny (only a handful of seats) so try for off-peak times to sit in or be ready for take out. It's a family business who turned vegan a couple years ago. The food is amazing and what you'd expect at a typical Vietnamese restaurant but with no animal products. Sure they have faux meats but you can also opt for tofu if that's not your thing. So good.

My favourite restaurant in Calgary - Edit
I'm a huge fan of their satay tofu noodle soup and bun hue. The flavours are rich and hearty. They make their own baked bbq tofu that is excellent. I have also tried the Mi Tiem, which is very good also. They serve the best vegetarian Vietnamese food in Calgary, hands down, and it is good value too.

What's not to love about Tamarind? - Edit
This place serves the best food in Calgary--not just vegetarian and vegan food, but food in general! I simply love it and would eat it 27/7 if I had a choice. The place itself is small and unassuming but in my humble opinion, everything is cooked to perfection by people who run it and their extended family. That probably adds to lovely flavours of all their food because I imagine they cook the same stuff for themselves on a daily basis. And there is so much to love and enjoy about home cooked meals that you yourself would like to prepare but are either unable or unprepared to do.

Whether or not you are vegan, you should visit this little restaurant because the food is really delicious and the staff are lovely.

(We walked for miles across town to find this restaurant, to discover that it is actually right next to the Downtown West/ Kerby station on the free zone of the C Train).
