Delicious food and friendly atmosphere - Edit
Suculenta was my favorite place to eat in Tulum, they offer an authentic Mexican flavor with very fresh ingredients. Their mushroom tacos with handmade tortillas are simply amazing! They have a nice garden on the back where you can eat and enjoy nature. The staff is super friendly as well. You shouldn’t miss the opportunity to try this place if you are in tulum!

These tamales are unreal. Very good and innovated menu. We just arrived in Tulum and saw this little place with a couple tables outside. We ordered almost every tamale and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would love one of those tamales today!

Delicious, Freshly Prepared Vegan Tamales! - Edit
Suculenta is a simple, family-run vegan restaurant specializing in tamales, located on a quiet side street in Tulum. It became one of my favourite places to eat during my stay!
Read moreThe menu has six differently flavoured tamales, as well as, various drinks and other dishes. It’s a small restaurant with only a few tables inside and a few in the beautiful shaded garden area behind the building. The garden area was lovely and peaceful! You can see a local woman cooking all the tamales from scratch in an open style kitchen. I visited here twice during my stay in Tulum and ordered the papadzul, mole and lentil tamales. Each one came with different toppings and sauces. All of them were so delicious, fresh and flavourful. I’ve never tasted such amazing tamales.
The staff were friendly and attentive as well. Good service! Would highly recommend for incredible vegan tamales.
Pros: Authentic, fresh and tasty vegan tamales , Garden setting for outdoor seating , Locally run

Tamales!!!!! - Edit
Delisioso tamales!! One we had was made from ancient peppers. Lovely outdoor dining in back of the restaurant next to their garden. A young man who works there was very friendly and gave us the history of some Mexican food. Great experience and value.

Authentic Mexican - Edit
We had a selection of tamales - they were flavoursome and came with a tomato dip, crispy tortilla crumbs with seeds and a red cabbage slaw type thing. Nicely filling, good combination of flavours and textures, and well presented.
Read moreTried the water infusions too - the papaya was not nice and we couldn’t drink it but the lemon was nice and refreshing.
Really cheap - 40 pesos for each tamale and 25 for the drinks.
One thing is there was a massive dog poo right next to the table which wasn’t nice to eat beside and the tables and chairs were kinda dirty. But is a rough and ready cheap place and the staff were friendly.

Wonderful place to stop for food and the nicest people! - Edit
We came here for lunch today and enjoyed a selection of different vegan tamales to share as well as some green juice, all of which was utterly delicious. The guy working there was also incredibly kind, even letting us have some ice for our water bottles to take away for free on a hot day! The place is lovely and I can recommend it highly. A must-visit in Tulum!

Our 1st Vegan stop in Tulum! - Edit
Muy bien vegan tamales. We sat on the back garden and enjoyed a sampling for three types of vegan tamales. We also ate carrot cake and brownie for desert. We loved this place. One night we took tamales “to go” from here and ate them in our room.

Best Vegan Tamale - Edit
This is my first time having a tamale and I was pleasantly surprised that I could find a vegan option. We chose the traditional mole tamale with mushroom, banana (plantain), chilli & chocolate, deliciously combined I might add. We also tried the lentil which was so tasty with the extra herbs & the bean one. I enjoyed the meal which was authentic Mexican. I was very happy with the price too which was quite reasonable for what we got.

Amazing - Edit
This place was my favorite place to eat in Tulum. It was also probably the most affordable. My girlfriend and I split 5 tamales, 2 sopes, and a green juice for $290. We were left completely stuffed. They had all but one of the tamales on the menu available (we did not get to try the Rojas), but the 5 we had were so damn good. Definitely a must try.
