Disappointing - Edit
I was so disappointed at the food here. Tried 2 different tamales, the tacos and the green anchiladas and struggled to finish. Only finished the food (with effort) because I hate food waste but the worse tacos I’ve had so far in Tulum and maybe in my entire taco experience.

Cons: The food was terrible , Tamales were disappointing , Worse tacos so far

Best tacos I’ve ever had - Edit
I loved everything about this place. The setting is very nice with the little garden and the service was great.
Read moreAbove all, the food was superb. Originally I just intended to try the tamales but they insisted on trying the tacos. I’m glad I did because those king oyster mushroom tacos had the most amazing flavor profile & meaty texture. They just have the 1 taco type (Tacos Al Bajón across the street has a wide range of amazing options) but Suculenta’s taco option is my personal favorite ever.
The tamales were also tasty–my favorite was the mole–but they were all pretty similar. Overall this is a place I would visit often.
Pros: All vegan, Tacos, Service & setting

All vegan 🔥 - Edit
My lunch was good and big portion (enchiladas). But my company took burrito and it was lame. I would have needed for a little more taste (lime, chile?) Smoothies were really good!

hippie food - Edit
the tamales and fresh juice were delicious - the atmosphere is lovely. i think for me it was a little bland overall - everything is really health focused which doesn’t always equal flavorful. (brownies made with black beans and amaranth - if that’s your thing more power to ya but it’s just not my bag!)

It could work for some - Edit
I'm allergic to cilantro, asked for a dish without it, they still served it with cilantro. We ordered another dish and it was good.
Read moreThey never apologized and the menu is quite limited. Most of it has cilantro, so I am not returning to this place. If you don't have food allergies and don't mind bad service it could be worth the shot.
Pros: There's a nice patio in the back
Cons: Bad service, Careful if you have any food allergy, Limited menu

I had really good vegan meal here and I recommend anyone to try it but there is better to be had. El bajon in tulum and plantavores in Playa del carmen for me offer better vegan Mexican food

We‘ve been to suculenta 2 times (and it would have been more of we‘ve stayed longer). The food is just stunning! We had two different kinds of tamales, Mole de la Casa, Enchiladas, Pozole and the Bean-Brownie muffin and everything was just so delicious! Best Mexican food we had so far, don’t miss it!

Best in Tulum! Not just in tamales :) - Edit
Ate here twice so far during a long stay in Tulum. I've been to many of the vegan places so far but Suculenta truly stands out.
Read moreFirst time we ate Tamales which were absolutely perfect. Texture is the perfect balance between fluffy and chewy and the choices in flavours were unique and inviting to our western taste buds.
The second time we went we had the Enchiladas and the meatball with pipián sauce (a kind of mole made with roasted and blended sunflower seeds). The best thing I have eaten on this trip!! So rich, creamy and nutty. The meatballs themselves were made with amaranth and seeds. They tasted unlike any "mock" meat I've had before... Simply delectable :)
Other bonuses? Super cozy back garden to chill out. Friendly cats. Even friendlier staff!
I will be back for more!
Pros: Authentic food off the beaten track, Unique flavours, Friendly, homely and unhurried atmosphere

A tasty and affordable spot in Tulum offering traditional Mexican dishes vegan style. I have eaten here twice, I enjoyed the enchiladas which felt nourishing and was lucky enough to experience a special menu which they brought out for Mexican independence day. It was all delicious.

Best vegan tamale - Edit
After reading the reviews i had high expectations and was not let down.
Read moreWe came for breakfast and had 4 of the 5 tamales as well as beans and fried banana, and a fresh juice.
There was only 1 tamale that I thought was not great, but the rest were incredible.
The beans and juice were also fantastic.
The venue is super chilled and the courtyard is wonderful.
Great staff as well.
We came back for dinner and had the mushroom tacos, veggie soup, mole with rice and veggies and enchiladas with green sauce.
Again, it was all superb, but my favourite was the mole.
It was a bit spicier than others, but delicious nonetheless.
Ask for some tortilla to have with it if needed.
10/10

BEST vegan food in Tulum!!! - Edit
Absolutely delicious!! We've tried many vegan/veggie places worldwide and this one stands out by a magnitude!!!!!
Read moreComing to this area, we were looking for some vegan food that was not only vegan but well made and thoughtfully created. We decided to try this place as their tamales caught our attention! (Note: this place was so good we kept coming back every night)
The first night we tried many of their tamales, all of which were unique and freshly made with whole ingredients. We also ordered their tacos, plantains and beans, and veggie soup. Their agua frescas are also super refreshing. The next night we had more tamales as well as their pozole (it was so filling and hearty, feels like home). Then the next day we came back again and tried their enchiladas (obviously, they were to die for) and their house mole with rice and veggies. This mole was truly the best I've ever tried, and the way they served it with perfectly cooked veggies and rice made this dish a match made in heaven. The next night we came to try their veggie meatballs with pipian and the sauce was absolutely delicious!! I'm a sucker for soups and sauces so this was definitely one of my favorites here as well :)
On top of that, the owners and workers here are extremely friendly and welcoming, they don't shove the menu in your face when you walk by and are super willing to converse with you. They feel more like friends than restaurant owners/workers.
I would definitely keep ordering this every time I come back. I wish I could eat their food every day! I'll come here as much as I can while I am here😄If you ever come to this area, this is a MUST VISIT. Thank you, Suculenta Tamaleria!
