Great Vegan Options - Edit
Suananda is a great restaurant that we have eaten at many times. As well as two separate indoor seating areas, it also has seating in the garden area, which is our favorite place to sit. It has a huge tree covering the seating, so it is shaded all day long.
Read moreThe restaurant is vegetarian, but has plenty of vegan options, and these are clearly marked on the menu. The staff are friendly and speak good English.
One thing that we really love about this place is that for each meal you buy they will feed one less well off person. Prices are pretty reasonable, with a main dish usually costing around 250-300 baht, which is under $10.
Highly recommended.
Pros: Vegan options clearly marked on menu, English speaking staff, Garden seating

a must - Edit
Such a beautiful place. We went for dinner and the service was exceptional, the food was incredible. Some of the best Indian I've had. Get one of the set menus, it has everything you need. Very easy to have vegan options.

Tasty food - Edit
I ordered the green curry with some rice. The taste of the curry was excellent, the portion size was okay. It is a little bit on the expensive side for the portion however. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the service was friendly, quick, and attentive. If money doesn't matter so much I recommend this place. An appetizer and a main course will satisfy, but will cost over 300 baht.

Small portions but tasty - Edit
We went in for an afternoon salad, we had a juice 160 baht, mango salad and chickpea salad, I can't remember the exact price but they were expensive for Thailand. The salads were delicious however the portions were tiny, I would say this is a place for a meal rather than a quick lunch. The staff were really friendly and the garden was lovely.

We had the fried potatoes, falafel set, and carrot cake... All were exceptional! Best fried potatoes I've ever had. Almost everything on the menu is vegan. If it were all vegan, it would be 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Good Food, Nice Atmosphere - Edit
Suananda has a great restaurant space-- great ambiance and vibe to hang out and relax. Some of the food is better than others and the combination platters can be a little unusual (like a paratha offered with a green curry). The staff can be a little curt (more so the 2nd time I visited) but overall it was a good place.

great vegetarian and vegan food - Edit
I've eaten in and had takeaway from this place as it's near where I live. The food is mainly southern Indian in style. Really good value, very tasty with vegan options and alternatives. Also there is a yoga studio attached

Delicious food - Edit
The food was delicious and healthy; as it said in the menu, organic produce is used where available.
Read moreThe setting was very serene, down a sort-of... alleyway, although it was ruined a little by a woman who (I think) worked there in some capacity, firstly talking very loudly on her cell phone (at one of the tables) before getting into her gas-guzzling pick-up truck, doing a 27-point turn down this narrow alleyway in order to turn around, where each time the nose of her truck was almost impeding on the restaurant tables, and driving away.
Once she was gone it was very relaxing though.
The service was efficient, although lacked in friendliness. I'm not one for small talk, but there wasn't so much as an acknowledgement that the waiter had understood my order, or a 'would you like a drink?'
The most important thing though, the food, was absolutely perfect, and fairly reasonably-priced for this type of restaurant. I paid 285 baht for a set menu of hummus, falafel, salad and soup, and left very satisfied. I'll be back again.

Delicious! - Edit
Very pleasant space, both indoor and out. There are maybe 6 set meal options, and I went for the first one - the Daal of the Day, with veg curry sides and roti. See 13th or so photo. Outstanding! Full of flavour, very enjoyable. And filling! Will come again.

Sadly it wasnt good - Edit
I only had the green curry and it literally must have had 2 green beans chopped in tiny pieces and maybe half a carrot and half a potato and thats being generous. The bowl itself was tiny too, maybe a bit more than a cup. It was also super salty. At 180 baht i expected more. The place is nice and the waiter was nice a helpful.

All I can say is, just WOW.
Read moreAfter reading all the reviews on here and trip advisor, I went to go check the place out.
To start with, everything is labelled on the menu if it is vegan and/or gluten free. Lots of options for both.
Service was amazing. Waiter spoke good English and explained in detail what exactly are in the dishes if I wasn't sure. Place is very modern and friendly staff.
The food was presented beautifully, and tasted AMAZING! Not had food this tasty in a long time - the flavours just worked so well together, and I left with a big smile on my face, and wanting more.
I will go back to try all the dishes I didn't get to try, there was just so much for once that I could actually eat.
Thanks Suananda!

Lovely dish, a little pricier - Edit
I had the flattened rice with vegetables and nuts, which was beautifully spiced and delicious. Priya, the owner, was very friendly and chatted with us a bit. A lovely venue, I just felt the food was slightly expensive for the portion size in comparison to other places but I appreciate the quality and the aim of providing wholesome, nutritious foods.

Nice little restaurant located in a street with many other veggie/vegan options. I had the daily special for lunch, which was a selection of veggies in Indian style with rice and bread. It was tasty, healthy and inexpensive (300 for the food and one drink).

An excellent experience - Edit
We accidentally stumbled upon this neat place after being rejected at Bonita Cafe (booked for a private party). Our meal was fulfilling and delicious. It's not savory but can taste the wholesomeness and healthy food. No MSG or too much oil, and so we can really taste every flavor of the vegetables used. Good vegan friendly options. The best would be the soup and pomodoro pasta. Spent ~ $700 including tip to feed two hungry people. Best money spent on vegan food so far... Very serene environment and deco. Very friendly staff.

The food I had didn't taste much at all. And I understand that it is actually an ayurvedic centre of some kind ... but still can't really appreciate people talking to me about this kind of "scientific" (oh yeah?) stuff. One can be a vegetarian without being a 70s hippie, right?

Delicious healthy Indian food in Bangkok - Edit
Suananda is an Ayurvedic wellness center with a lovely café, a yoga and meditation hall hosting various classes and workshops, a small shop and an Ayurvedic consultation center offering medical treatments, therapies and massage such as shirodhara (pouring of oil on the forehead). The food at the cafe is wholesome and prepared with care and anything can be made vegan. Unlike the Indian food I am used to where things generally swim in a pool of oil, everything at Suananda is fresh, light and healthy. Everything is prepared with organic ingredients and will leave you feeling light and energized thanks to the cooking that is based on Ayurvedic principles, using the right combination of food and spices to aid digestion. You can pick from one of the daily grains on offer (quinoa, rye, barley, cracked wheat, cracked oat or amaranth) which can be substituted to the organic rice. The poha (flattened rice) with nuts and vegetables was a little like fried rice, except it was light, fluffy and not greasy at all — the texture of the flattened rice grains reminded me a little of fresh coconut and the flavors were spot on — I love cumin. The morning glory fritters were surprisingly really light and a very inventive – and especially tasty — use of my beloved morning glory. The accompanying dipping sauces were great – the minty one packs a punch! The sprouted finger millet crepe stuffed with spinach (ask for no cheese) was a great variation on the traditional South Indian dosa; I found the mouthfeel actually nicer than a traditional dosa: fluffy and chewy, a little like an actual crepe. I’m assuming the taste is better with the cheese, but I really enjoyed this nonetheless. Same goes for the beetroot paranthas: it’s a simple, fresh and well executed dish that is not oily at all. The beetroot is still very crunchy, the texture is spot on and the accompanying minty sauce is lovely. The prices at Suananda are very reasonable. Make sure you sit out back in the lovely garden. A really nice take on Indian food.
