Great place

Good place to bring a family because there’s so many options even for vegans! It says vegan in the menu if it is and if not there are other ones that the waiter and point out for you. Buddha bowl was good but cooked very strangely- it had a weird texture for everything but the tahini maple dressing was outstanding. The breakfast veggies were not the best but I like how they try!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Knowledgeable staff, Friendly and fun environment

Cons: Not cheap , Loud

Thanks, your review helped us with a family visit of vegan/non vegans. We've gone back a few times, and have enjoyed each visit. Thanks again!

Gone downhill

The place was sold about a year ago. I used to get the vegan hash. Went today for the first time since they sold the place and was sorely disappointed. It was nothing like it used to be. The veggies tasted weird; like a fuel taste. They just added fried potatoes instead of actually cooking them with the order. The waitress had an attitude. I will not be going back.

Pros: Location

Cons: Yucky food , Hardly any vegan options

Few vegan options

Maybe the menu has changed since previous reviews but today there are very few vegetarian options and the only vegan option is a Beyond Burger (for an additional $3, which seems excessive). Very disappointed.

Wonderful vegan options

Always on the lookout for a great dinner option that offers creative vegan cuisine. Chill did not disappoint in the creative flavors department. We tried the Roasted Spaghetti squash, Butternut chick pea Buddha Bowl and Stuffed Butternut Squash. All delightful and complex in flavors. Great comfort food. Highly recommended!

Pros: Great flavors

Good Vegan Options

St. Pete Beach is typically a vegan food desert! We are so glad we found this place. The Buddha bowl and the roasted cauliflower app were delicious. They also have a good wine list and live entertainment

So cozy and great food

Our server was so sweet and the food was fantastic! I had the kale salad without cheese. You can fix things to make them vegan for sure.

Pros: Cute atmosphere , Good food, Great to go with people who aren’t vegan

Wonderful Buddha Bowl

Mostly non-vegan, this restaurant has a couple wonderful vegan options. I had the Buddha bowl and it was so good I came back and had it again the next night (although they had other vegan options available - the roasted kale was wonderful!!). Plus, they make a very good hand-mixed margarita. Stacy took great care of me! I would have given it 5 stars but it wouldn't let me do it since it's not 100% vegan.

Pros: Some vegan options - delicious!

Cons: Not totally vegan, but a great place to dine with , your non-vegan friends

Thumbs up

Only went for breakfast and they only had one vegan “breakfast” option so the choice was easy. Although they did have other vegan options available just not listed as breakfast. I got a roasted vegetable hash and while very pricey (11.75 w tax) it was a good size and tasted great

A Good Option When Dinning with Non-Vegans

There are only 3 vegan options here. A sweet potato butternut buddha bowl, a hummus platter, and a veggie pasta. I ordered the buddha bowl and it looked nice and tatsted pretty good. While the lack of options isn’t ideal, it’s a good option that can satisfy everyone.

Pros: nice atmosphere, live music, items labeled as vegan

Cons: only 3 options

Excellent place

We ate dinner here with a non-vegan friend and I️t was the perfect choice. Great atmosphere (they had a pianist playing live music), you can sit inside or out, very friendly staff. It was a Tuesday night, but the place was hopping. Maybe because it is spring break. But this place is a couple of blocks off the strip in St Pete Beach, so a little out of the way. I️ had veggie tacos (great), my wife had butternut squash with quinoa (fabulous) and my daughter had butternut squash with ratatouille (outstanding). All were vegan. Wish some of the vegan restaurants had those options. Lots of fish and meat also (most of the menu), so good place for everyone. Would recommend this place to anyone, vegan or carnivore. Nice to have options other than a salad or the obligatory veggie burger at a mixed restaurant.

Pros: very good vegan options

Great vegan options

We ate twice at Chill during a visit to the area: once for dinner and once for lunch.

I would emphasize that this is the only vegan friendly restaurant anywhere along the beach (St. Pete to Madeira). They offer a great range of thoughtfully prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

We both had the spaghetti squash with ratatouille, which was delicious. The accompanying dinner salad had very fresh ingredients (field greens, etc) and was tastefully dressed. Their wine and beer list has good options, including some local craft brews and well chosen new and old world wines.

We had lunch with friends another day. Again, excellent options. Friends had lobster bisque and the fish tacos, which they greatly enjoyed. One of us had the veggie (vegan) tacos, which were good but could benefit from some more thoughtful seasoning. The other had the falafel, which, to quote, was "the best I have even had".

Service is friendly, attentive and professional. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Pros: Tasty vegan options, Excellent service, Fair prices

Cons: Inside seating noise level can be high (live music

Vegan from the heart

Being on the shore, Chill has its share of seafood, but the menu shares this food choice with many delicious and creative vegan dishes. Best of the night was a stuffed squash with quinoa and 'ancient' whole grains. A little spice comes from a chipotle sauce. Not our first time here, and we will be back.

Pros: yum, great options, creative dishes

Cons: no dessert

Nice find in St. Pete Beach

This place is a good option for vegans in St. Pete who are dining with nonvegans. The hummus plate that comes with cucumbers, bread, and carrots is all vegan! So is the falafel without the tzatziki which comes with a small salad! Along with a few more filling vegan plates, this is a good choice for vegans living or traveling around St. Pete.

Pros: vegan options, live music most nights, no vegan desserts

Cons: poorly lit in the back for larger parties

An option near the beach

My family stopped in here while staying at a hotel on St. Pete Beach. There were a few vegan options (clearly marked), though one was marked vegan but was actually vegetarian. We ordered one of everything and it was all pretty tasty! The spaghetti squash dish was my husband and my favorite. Not a whole lot of variety, but it's great to find a restaurant with vegan options.

Pros: Accomodating staff, Fresh tasting ingredients

Cons: Not a lot of variety, A little pricey

Good choice in mixed company

While they don't have an abundant amount of vegan options, there were a few for lunch so I was happy enough. The spaghetti squash was great, and the staff is very knowledgeable as to what is vegan and what is not

Note: The flourless chocolate cake is NOT VEGAN! When in doubt, ask the server!

Pros: Great staff, Good atmosphere, Good food

Cons: Limited vegan options, No vegan desserts :(

Great Service! Amazing Vegan Food!

My husband and I stopped in at Steam and Chill in St. Pete's Beach and were happily surprised. We shared rutabaga fries, veggie patty, salad, bread, and a vegetable coconut curry over zucchini noodles. Everything was amazing and our server, Andrew, was very helpful in steering us toward vegan options. The presentation of each plate was artfully done. The taste - incredible! We enjoyed vanilla soy lattes for dessert, and are happy to say we will be coming back when we visit St. Pete's Beach in the future. This was an unexpected surprise!

Pros: Friendly staff, Excellent food, Great presentation

Cons: Outside seating is noisy from street traffic

What a surprise!

Everyone was hungry so we needed some place close and quick. This was it. We walked in with 7 people and were seated immediately. Within minutes we were greeted by Gilbert who gave us many recommendations of good things to try.
I needed to know the vegan options for the kids and I and he was quick to explain our choices. The vegan options are not marked on the menu as I have seen other reviewers mention. We ordered the brussel sprouts, rutabaga fries and the watermelon salad (without the cheese) for appetizers. Then we shared the butternut squash for our entire. It was all delicious, beautifully displayed and full of flavor. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake which was rich and decadent.
Our food came out at different times which ended up being a good thing because we were able to eat a variety of things at a comfortable pace.
The place was unique with the kitchen basically in the eating area but the live music was nice and not too loud. We will probably return here during our week on the beach.

Pros: Variety of items, Flavorful, Easy parking

Cons: A little expensive

A pleasant surprise

Exterior belies charming interior that was open to the kitchen and inviting . The live music was comforting but not intrusive. And Stephanie's service was delightfully attentive.

The food was amazing. Our favourite was the cauliflower rice pilaf with the veggie patty a close second. The flourless chocolate cake rounded out our lovely dinner and the white sangria was a pleasant surprise.

We would describe the prices as moderate and may suggest more vegan options but all in all we would be happy cows to return!

Pros: Food/menu, Service, Atmosphere

Cons: More expensive than anticipated

Steam and Chill

During our stay at St. Pete Beach in Florida recently we discovered the 'Steam and Chill' restaurant, which was so good we visited on more than one occasion.

The vegan menu was excellent, with lots of good, fresh, tasty dishes , especially the 'bespoke' vegan dessert that was made just for us ! The staff were very friendly and helpful and helped make the entire meal one to remember.

We would definitely recommend the 'Steam and Chill' to everybody !

Pros: Good parking, Good value for money

Cons: Vegan friendly, not vegan

Easily best place in all FL

I would eat here regularly if I lived nearby.

Vegan tapas, all clearly marked on the menu. Head chef is vegan. They do it right. I'd tell you what I ate but I think we ordered nearly everything ans it was all good.
Could see as nice date spot. We were there on a Sunday and they had a guitarist & you can sit at the tapas bar and watch them get down.

Great dinner, good value, filling but light, veg simple but so tasty.
If anywhere in Tampa area, make it a destination.

Pros: great flavors, great value, clear vegan label

Cons:

Excellent choice(s)

Just took the family (incl. two daughters, 10 & 13) here and am struggling to think of a better meal we've had anywhere. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was brilliant - attentive, friendly staff, pleasant live acoustic guitar music, etc. The choices were plentiful - something for everyone, including almost 10 vegan dishes, and being tapas, there's room to choose a fair few. The menu is well marked. Each dish appeared to be individually and carefully prepared and not short on taste either. We're only here for 4 days, but will probably be going back for lunch, breakfast or dinner. Dinner cost us about $100 + drinks for the four of us, but we've been well fed and it was definitely worth it.

Pros: Atmosphere, Number of choices, Dishes made to order

Cons: Slightly pricy (but worth it)

Consistently Fabulous!

Visiting for a week, we went to Chill for dinner three times. Tapas style dishes. Everything we ate was delicious. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options ... enough vegan options that I ordered something different on each visit, and ordered the Jamaican Beans & Rice every time. Vegan, Veg, & GF are clearly marked on the menu. Unfortunately, no vegan desserts.

Menus on the website are out of date. Did not go to Steam, the adjacent coffee shop/breakfast restaurant. Looking at the outdated on-line menu, does not appear to be nearly as vegan/veg friendly, but this may have changed.

Pros: Well marked menu... no guessing, Tapas style offers lots of variety

Cons: No vegan desserts, Tapas style can be expensive
