Great variety of vegan desserts! - Edit
Southern Sweets had a delicious selection of cakes, including carrot, coconut, caramel, raspberry mousse, and key lime (pie). The portions are extremely generous.

Southern Sweets Bakery was a great place with a great variety of treats. We came her to pickup a cake and were very excited they had Vegan cakes available. The cake was great and is a great place for people needing vegan cakes.

Southern Sweets has been my favorite vegan dessert that I've ever had. The strawberry cake and german chocolate are to die for. And if you need a cake quick you can pick up a vegan cake day of and /or stop in for a slice. The only warning I have as someone who has tried almost all of the vegan cakes here, is that the caramel cake is too dry and too sweet so that I don't recommend.

I have the biggest sweet tooth and when I want vegan desserts, this is THE best! I love so many, the caramel cake, the strawberry, the peanut butter chocolate mousse. You will not be disappointed!

A rare gem in the south! - Edit
All of the vegan desserts are phenomenal. In fact, the girl working behind the counter said that the vegan caramel cake is better than the one made with dairy and eggs! I didn't get the vibe that many of the staff were vegan, but they were very enthusiastic about all of the vegan options. Great food and great service! Highly recommend.

They have a black bean burger that can be made vegan which tastes pretty good but isn't necessarily bursting with flavor. There's a plethora of vegan desserts. They also make salads that can be made vegan. If you're a vegan, then come here for the desserts.

Southern Sweets is tricky to find, but worth it. Their vegan coconut cake and carrot cake are moist and flavorful. The vegan chocolate items are the smoothest, richest chocolate desserts anywhere.

My fiance proposed to me over a piece of vegan cake from Southern Sweets. It was a smart move on his part and now we're going to hopefully have our wedding cake from there = ) Their vegan cake isn't over the top but it is actually better than non-vegan cake! So much variety, too!

The best vegan dessert I've found - Edit
This place may not be ideal for those who are uncomfortable in non-vegetarian restaurants. There is a long list of meat sandwiches served. Still, the quality and selection of vegan desserts were amazing. There is a dessert case devoted exclusively to vegan cakes (about 6-8 choices), and I found it hard to choose. I went with the raspberry chocolate mousse cake, and was glad I did. It's shocking that a place that's not exclusively vegan can do such a great job; the cake was fresh, light, smooth, and perfect. It had no overly sugary or fatty taste or texture, as some novice attempts at vegan desserts tend to have. I've never had a better vegan dessert in any bakery or restaurant, after fifteen years of being vegan.
Read moreFor an entree of sorts, the only real option is the hummus and veggie sandwich (called Eat Your Veggies), which good and served on excellent, fresh bread, although for non-vegans there is a veggie cheeseburger.
