Outstanding service and delicious food - Edit
We arrived super early for our reservation since we had finished sightseeing for the day and we were hungry! There was no problem seating us when we arrived because there were some no-shows.
Read moreWait staff was INCREDIBLE and checked up on us often. All of our questions were answered, showing they were knowledgable about the menu, and the food was tasty!
We started with the Chorizo and Cod Fish Croquettes, which we would order again. For our mains, we had the Peanut Butter Curry and Ben Ben Noodles. Both were super flavorful, but I'd be interested in trying other things on their menu, as well. For dessert, we had to have the Vegan Snickers, which is a definite winner. It was an awesome ending to an awesome meal. Will definitely be back if we ever make it back to Amsterdam!
Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, Delicious food, Good variety of menu items

Small cafe with busy atmosphere - Edit
Good food but quite pricey, unfortunately. Service was good!

Thanks for the review. Unfortunately the price comes with the cost of our top quality ingredients and the fact that we spent countless hours in prepping our house-made ingredients. Hope you understand and to see you soon.

Ok - Edit
It is really just ok and not necessarily value for money. The food was basic and we waited for it at least 1 hour. When after 1h, I asked the waitress how long it was going to take, she said it was almost ready but it has been very busy and that is why it is taking so long. I turned around and saw 3-4 tables and there were no more than 3 tables when we arrived. It took them at least 10-15 min to bring us a bottle of wine with 4 glasses. My jackfruit burger was very very basic. I could prepare it at home in 2 min.

A Delightful Vegan EXPERIENCE - Edit
My wife and I (both of us vegan) visited the restaurant for a dinner not having read any reviews beforehand. It has an unassuming but cool atmosphere with a small library of plant-based and other interesting books. Also on display are a number of their pickles and spice.
Read moreThe dishes on their small winter/fall menu were all clearly creatively and carefully selected to provide optimal health and flavour, We shared the “ribs" smothered in a rich BBQ sauce as a starter. We have sampled many seitan ribs in the past and this is one of the better in terms of flavour and texture. They could have been slightly firmer though to give a more authentic ribs eating experience.
For mains, I ordered the Ben Ben Noodles with a creamy sesame sauce, sticky meatballs, pak soy, crispy chilli oil, scallions and pickles. It was really delicious, rich and indulgent. My wife ordered the Peanut Butter Curry
with smoked tofu, pumpkin, celeriac, carrot, parsnip, slaw, peanuts, coriander and white rice. She really enjoyed the dish, and the smoked tofu was particularly tasty.
We shared the baked cheesecake for dessert which we both commented was one of the best vegan cheesecakes that we have eaten.
Service was helpful, friendly and fast. A delightful experience overall!
Pros: Very tasty, Cool atmosphere, Helpful staff

Dont order the chips - Edit
Great, little café. Its cosy with a nice, busy atmosphere. We had some starters and both the burger with "chips". The starters were really nice, as were the burgers. The chips were actually just crisps, the ones you buy in a bag in the supermarket. For 2.5 I expected chips as in fries or wedges to go with that wonderful burger.

We tried this venue by chance thanks to HappyCow because The Meatless District was closed unexpectedly (changed opening hours). A pleasant discovery. Definitely worth trying the Ben Ben Noodles.

Heerlijk gegeten. De kimchi burger was lekker sappig en de snicker bar als toetje was een heerlijke afsluiter! Het is wel een beetje overpriced, als je het mij vraagt.

It's alright - Edit
The food is really nice. The service/staff was friendly. Except for one of them that didn't have the best vibe to her. But that could be a personal thing right? Luckily she left after she sprayed her perfume in the middle of the restaurant and took her toothbrush with her. No idea why she was carrying it around.

Fermented ingredients - Edit
Friendly staff. Interesting menu though a little pricy. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte which was sooo sweet, too sweet in my opinion. As well as the kimchi fried rice which combined some interesting ingredients but unfortunately it tasted a little too much of the vinegar that was probably used to ferment the kimchi. I think other food and beverage choices might lead to a better result. I still liked the food though.

organic nice food - Edit
I went here with my boyfriend and I ate the peanut curry with Kombucha as a drink. My dish tasted amazing and the Kombucha was tasty too. As a starter we ordered the cheese plate with chips. The cashew cheese was yummy but a bit small for the price. I like that they carefully serve organic, high quality food. The atmosphere was nice and the staff very welcoming. The only cons are the high prices and small variety on the menu.

Tasteless - Edit
I had the peanut curry it was very tasteless. The rice was still hard and was unsalted and the curry didn’t have enough flavours. A disappointment, to be honest, because not the cheapest meal, either.

Great food, loved the service - Edit
Went there to have the peanut curry bowl, kimchi bowl and cheesecake. All three very nice, although for my personal taste the kimchi bowl had a too strong vinegar taste that overtook other flavours. Peanut curry was everything I ever needed. Cheese cake had great proportions of cake and cheese.

Amazing peanut butter curry - Edit
Lovely plant based restaurant, with a cool industrial designed interior and a great menu that consists of warm bowls, burgers, sandwiches, salad bowls and desserts. Their peanut butter curry is the best! That alone is a great reason to come back here on a regular basis. Great staff as well! One of my favorite vegan places in Amsterdam!

Lots of vegan goodness. - Edit
As two vegans who love good food we are delighted to say that this place was a good one. There are a lot of great dishes on the menu card, lots to chose from. Normally there are not a lot of good vegan options to choose from, so it was great to be able to try lots of different tastes and things without having to look wether is vegan or not.
Read moreThe only downside for us was that there was only one waitress to help about 30/40 people. This meant lots of waiting.
Some advice: go for the vegan feta option in your salad bowl or on the side. It’s the best vegan feta we’ve tried so far. Also, the rice pudding with caramel/passion fruit was delish!

Vegan restaurant-cafè with plenty of options - Edit
The quality of the food is pretty good. I had the Kimchi fried rice and I was really impressed by the flavours and tastiness of the dish. We also had starters and desserts and they were good but not so good as the kimchi rice, actually that was the thing that stood out the most for me, the rest was good but not outstanding. I also think that nearly 13 euros for a bowl of fried rice without any plant-based protein (you have to add it extra for 3 or 3,5 euros more) is a bit expensive. They have burgers too and they are all from the brand 'beyond meat' which I'm not a big fan of because it tastes too much of meat. I would suggest to have at least a burger option different from the 'beyond meat' one for people who don't like the taste of meat. It was a good experience. The staff is very friendly.

Tasty vegan food - Edit
Soil is a great place for a nice vegan dinner. Lots of options on the menu. Staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant has a nice easygoing feeling to it. We tried a peanut curry and salad with faux goats cheese. Both were delicious. For desert we had a mango cheesecake which was one of the tastiest vegan cheesecakes that I’ve had so far. I can definitely recommend this restaurant and will come again!
