Outstanding service and delicious food - Edit
We arrived super early for our reservation since we had finished sightseeing for the day and we were hungry! There was no problem seating us when we arrived because there were some no-shows.
Read moreWait staff was INCREDIBLE and checked up on us often. All of our questions were answered, showing they were knowledgable about the menu, and the food was tasty!
We started with the Chorizo and Cod Fish Croquettes, which we would order again. For our mains, we had the Peanut Butter Curry and Ben Ben Noodles. Both were super flavorful, but I'd be interested in trying other things on their menu, as well. For dessert, we had to have the Vegan Snickers, which is a definite winner. It was an awesome ending to an awesome meal. Will definitely be back if we ever make it back to Amsterdam!
Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, Delicious food, Good variety of menu items

A great start - Edit
Soil Vegan Cafe is a typical vegan place: it’s small, cozy and idealistic. It’s open for lunch and dinner, has indoor and outdoor seating. And because it is located in Amsterdam, it’s heard to reach by car and impossible to park nearby. The menu is available in Dutch and English. While we were there, the staff mostly spoke English and only knew a few words of Dutch.
Read moreThe menu consists of burgers, salads and some dishes in between. Judging from other customer’s plates the portions are all generous. Since we only wanted lunch, we opted for a salad. The waitress suggested the “rice noodle salad”. When served it looks tasty and smells great. Although it offers a wide variety of ingredients, the rice noodles make up 80% (perhaps even 90%?) of the plate. Personally, I would have liked more vegetables and less noodles.
Having said that, the taste was excellent. The dressing is sublime and the combination with peanuts and mango works very well.
This salad is a good start, because it really makes one want to come back for more!
Pros: Great taste, Generous portions, Cozy atmosphere
Cons: Impossible to reach by car / park a car nearby

Absolutely delicious food!!! - Edit
A must visit if you’re in Amsterdam! This cafe has really delicious food, lovely staff and service, big portions and the food comes out quickly. The Udon pasta is the best pasta I’ve had in a long time, it’s perfectly creamy and the perfect mixture of delicious flavours 🌱🌱 10/10 no complaints from me

We had burgers and a bowl. Forgot the name of the noodle bowl. Was written that it was spicy. But...the creamy and the spicy flavor where just too much. Half way i was full. Little disappointed I couldn’t eat further. Although I’m used to spicy. I think I am ...
Read morenever the less it was not small, enough. Still curious for the other bowls. The burger was tasty. And the service was warm. Thanks.

Could be better - Edit
I was really excited to go to this cafe but left a little disappointed. We sat at a wooden table with grime and old food between the slats, to move to a cleaner table. The table next to us was never wiped down and the books they have as a part of their library definitely needed a wipe too.
Read moreIt had such potential and the food was okay but it just lacked that little extra love.
They were really helpful with my partners allergens which is one of the only reasons we stayed.
Pros: Cool vibe , Good with allergens
Cons: Dirty tables , Very wet toilet floor , Lacking love

Decent food & experience! - Edit
I tried the Ben Ben Noodles and Miso Salad here, both of which were super solid but not exceptional. They tasted nice, but the Miso Salad was missing the smoked tofu entirely and both dishes were overwhelmed with sauce/dressing.
Read moreThe restaurant is in a great location and has a cozy interior. Overall, I’m happy with my experience at SOIL but might not put it at the top of my list for future visits, or would opt for different menu items.

The Ribs were absolutely delicious. The only bad thing about it was that I didn’t order more of it. The kimchi burger was a home run too. Staff and chef were super friendly too. 10/10

Great vegan food - Edit
Loved the smoky eggplant dip to start. Had peanut butter curry which was good, although could have been a bit spicier for my taste (I also didn't ask, so fair enough). Decadent and yummy cheesy cake at end - very delicious :)

Unfortunately very disappointing - Edit
I read good reviews about this restaurant, therefore I decided to try it while staying in Amsterdam.
Read moreI was unfortunately very disappointed.
I ordered the kimchi fried rice with edamame and black fungi. My dish had no edamame beans nor fungi. I asked the waitress, and she gave me a couple of cold edamame directly from the fridge. My bowl was ruined, the service was very poor as they did not even try/offer to improve the situation. I do not recommend at all this restaurant.
Cons: Poor service , Unfriendly staff, Poor customer service

One of the best in Amsterdam - Edit
The place is super cozy and you can go for a warm drink either for a meal.
Read moreI had many times their Oat Chai Latte, which is fantastic!
The plates are all bowls and for me their best option is the Peanut Curry Bowl which is a Thai-inspired dish with a lot of veggies, chickpeas and peanuts flavoured curry. You can then add your preferred carb (like quinoa, rice, etc).
Pros: All vegan bowls , You can add your favourite carb , Cozy and warm place
