Best vegan cake in Berlin - Edit
Huadou or now Soy & Co has the best vegan cake based on looks and taste. Even though the place looks small we never had trouble finding a seat. We can recommend the chocolate cake and the round lemon tarte

Good looking cakes - Edit
We tried three of their cakes. They were good. Nice atmosphere as well. The place is small so finding a seating may be difficult at times. Yuzu tofu was our favorite.

Great matcha - Edit
Love the concept and that everything is vegan. Interior design reminded me a bit of Seoul! Loved that they improvised outside seating so you can be lucky to get a spot. Great opening times. Soy or oat (extra). Matcha was decent and cookie, iced matcha and cappuccino looked good as well. Sesame cake had a great bottom layer (crunchy) and sesame flavour was a bit too dense (like gelatine texture) and not enough flavoured. The pieces seemed small but they’re huge cause the cake is super rich. Would go again but not choose the cake again. Maybe a matcha cake or just go for a drink.

Amazing! - Edit
I got a sesame torte with tofu creme and a black sesame latte, and I also tried a piece of Purp's sesame cheesecake. Both cakes were delicious!
Read moreThe torte is creamy and mild. The cheesecake has a much stronger taste but it wasn't too sweet or overpowering. The latte was nutty and delicious.
And everything was so beautiful to look at!
I highly recommend this place.
Edit: We came back here again before leaving Berlin. This time I had the yuzu cheesecake and a soy matcha latte. I also tried Purp's citrus tart and his black sesame and adzuki bean latte. As expected, both were delicious. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in Berlin.

The best cake I've ever eaten from a cafe. - Edit
I got a black sesame latte and a cheesecake, I usually avoid soy milk but the latte was delicious. The cheesecake was the best desert I've ever had from any restaurant or cafe, it had a great texture and looked very fancy. It had a small wafer on top that had a really strong taste of sesame and was amazing when combined with the cake. The cafe was very peaceful and looked nice, the staff were very nice and made it feel very relaxed.

Amazing looking cakes, but also amazingly delicious! - Edit
I only had a slice of cake at Huadou, but you bet it was a memorable experience! I tend to be a bit weary of places that have food that is “too pretty” as it’s no at all uncommon nowadays to come across cafes which serve instagramable cakes which don’t end up tasting like much after all. NOT the case here! The tofu and black sesame cheesecake was incredibly well executed: with a creamy filling with a slightly nutty taste, sweet enough but not too sweet, on a base which had salty hints that perfectly contrasted and made your palate crave more and more. Even the little piece of sesame nougat on top was delish. Of course the stunning presentation counts as well - and this one was a killer! A perfect example of good looks with substance. Would love to go back and try some more - please extend my congrats and appreciation to the pastry chef!💗And, hey, what an original and fun concept store!

Exceptionally good café - Edit
A café with exquisite desserts. I had a really hard time to choose one, they all looked delicious and had interesting flavours. Got a yuzu cheesecake and a black sesame cake. Both were really good. The sesame cake had a really buttery frosting and almost ”nutty” flavour. Yuzu cheesecake was more delicate. Can definetely recommend both. Café itself has a very calming vibe and their matcha latte is so smooth. Come visit if you are into sweet things.

Great Concept - Edit
The whole store was pretty and i love the concept built around soy with courses and stuff, sadly we were only here to eat some cake. Those were not cheap but unique and yummy. I would love to take some tofu courses here some day.

Unique flavours - Edit
A distinguished place with friendly staff, which offers a wide variety of desserts and drinks. They try really interesting combinations of flavours. I liked their mung brownie with soy ice cream in soy sauce. Matcha itself is really delicious, you can see that the cafe cares about preparing it properly. Also everything ist gluten free.

Wonderful space, misos, and staff! - Edit
This is a great store. They sell homemade tofu presses and equipment, hold workshops, and have a selection of soy products like miso paste and tamari/soy sauces. The staff are lovely people and so helpful and responsive by email too. We have tried most of the misos and the one with poppyseed is especially nice. The cakes and coffee are also fantastic. We bought a tofu press from there and it is beautiful - we have made so much tofu! They also sell magnesium chloride for tofu making plus other bits you need.

Gorgeous beans - Edit
I enjoyed my almond apple cake and soy latte in the tranquil Asian environment. The cake was one of the best I have had - I could have eaten three of them 😅 The staff was really nice and willing to answer any question about the tofu production. If you are interested you may visit one of the workshops at Huadou (which means gorgeous beans).

All about soy - Edit
This place surprised me so much! It is so different from other places I have had been. Soy is the main star of the place. I had a soy sauce ice cream with some "fried soy milk crispies". Mindblowing! Also I tried a fermented rice tonic. I would give 5 stars, but I was disappointed on desserts, as they offered only ony brownie, tiny and not very encouraging, to be honest.
Read moreBesides they offer tofu making courses and a lot of staff. I bought there nigiri and definitively will try to make tofu on my own.
Pros: Surprising
Cons: Limited offer
