No fuss relatively cheap vegan food! - Edit
Very nice food in a part of town where it’s otherwise difficult to find vegan food (or in my experience anyway…), also inside mall so AC allows you to escape the heat!

Cheap but basic food - Edit
I guess my expectations were a bit high for this place. It’s really a very basic buffet, although there is a menu and we ordered from this. Food was very cheap, so that can’t be overlooked when assessing the quality of the meals. Our choices were the grilled chicken with spicy sauce and rice, and the spicy mixed mushroom salad. Neither looked particularly exciting when it came out and I kind of wished we’d ordered from the buffet. The mushroom salad was the more interesting, and was quite tasty and spicy. The chicken was a few.pieced of standard mock laid out on a bed of rice. It was OK, but I’d need some convincing to go back to this place, and the reason we did come here was because it was the closest open vegan restaurant to where we were. The selection of drinks was also only commercial bottled beverages.

Very friendly service
Read moreIt’s a self service spot of a chain. They’re located on 1st floor right upstairs to the right when getting into the center
You can order off the menu with dishes such as curry, stir fry and also burger (which I wouldn’t try honestly haha).
The food from the display window is delicious and so cheap. I had two dishes without rice for 60thb. It was a spicy pepper stir fry dish with tofu and pineapple sweet sour and a bit spicy
Loved it and can’t wait to come back
Staff was friendly! No free water here
Pros: Delicious and cheap

Great food stall in I'm Chinatown - Edit
Over my 5 1/2 months in Bangkok I became a huge fan of the different So Vegan branches.
Read moreThey all sell a rice buffet with the dishes on display in the window. Depending on which branch you visit, English will be spoken better or worse. Basic communication should be possible at all of them though.
There are many different dishes, changing on a daily basis with some being available each day. A few of my favourites are Kaeng som, Massaman, Pad Kra Pao and the tofu - mushroom mix. Some are quite spicy, overall I found all to be very tasty.
Rice + your choice of 3 toppings from the pre cooked dishes is 60 THB.
The portions are not huge but I found it to be enough usually.
They also have some different dishes which they cook fresh for you, including Som Tam and other salads, fresh Kra Pao, some soups and many more. Also very tasty.
Even though the quality of the food for sure isn't top notch, I still very much enjoyed my many visits to all their branches.
I can't recommend their Western menus, I only once tried the burger, which I found okay to be fair.
But I overheard quite a few foreigners usually being not very happy with their orders of Western menus.
Stick to the Thai menus and I'm sure you will enojy your visit as well.
Depending on the time of visit, the branches might be quite crowded, especially the ones in On Nut and Ekkamai.
I've never eaten the "original" meaty version of the Thai dishes, but I came here with some omni Thai friends who all told me most of the menus really taste like the versions with meat.
Pros: local Thai food, very cheap, cheap and fair Thai prices
Cons: Can't recommend the Western dishes, Not a normal restaurant, more like a food stall, Limited seating

Great food, worth the visit(s) - Edit
We came here a couple of times as the food was so yummy. Service was a bit average on the first visit but really good on the second. The food was great on both visits and is really well priced! We particularly enjoyed the Pad Thai and the Spring Rolls, but I think you'd likely enjoy everything!
Read moreIf any of your food isn't hot enough, there's a microwave on the table beside where you pay - just chuck it in there for 30 seconds and you should be all good.
They're pretty easy to find. Once you're inside by KFC, head upstairs to the second floor. They have a few tables and chairs for 'dining in' (they're part of a food court type area), there's chopsticks, forks and spoons and, if desired, there's a caddy with chili vinegar, sugar, chilli powder and something else (? 🤔).
Pros: Tasty food, Well priced

Cheap and rather tasty - Edit
Many traditional Thai dishes, huge selection for such a small food stall. Had trouble finding it at first, its really not that well visible. I had spring rolls bc the dumplings were already finished and a stir fry which were both fine. I didn't like the pumpkin juice and had the feeling they had only very unusual drinks (from my cultural perspective).

Cheap Junkfood - Edit
All their dishes are already made and kept hot in their glass vitrine. It was incredibly cheap and filled us up but didn't feel healthy, rather the contrary. It good for a very quick meal I guess

Fast & Friendly - Edit
Don't forget about purple rice 3 combo. You can choose three from the window and it's such a good deal. Also ordering an a la carte for a fresh, hot, made-to-order (or two) is good. That's a tad more pricey, but a tasty addition on top of a set menu from the wall. Still more affordable than many of the trendy spots in Bangkok. The fried Thai spring rolls are my favorite so far. Easy to get to entering I'm Chinatown Mall (large 🐉). Go up first escalator and it's the first restaurant on the right.

I'll have to check in the next couple of days. Things aren't working out for my move here this time around, but I should be able to return before I leave Wednesday. The price is on the wall, something like 65 baht. Catch is that sometimes it's not up to temperature standards (still better than most mall food I've tried so far). Lee Jae Veg nearby is better for cheap, fresh and hot dishes... Not open late though and must sit outside. Usually I prefer that, still I like the people here.

Thanks I ended up buying it and was only 60 baht. I’ll check your other recommendation 😊
