Lovely donut and muffin - Edit
I needed something sweet in the afternoon so we rushed here to get something take away. I got the matcha and chocolate glazed donut. I also bought the banana, walnut and raisin muffin.
Read moreI think both were gf (something that seems to be commonly lumped together in Japan with vegans) I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed both the flavours and the textures of both items.
They hit the spot perfectly!

Decent - Edit
No more smoothie bowls, at least not today. They had a pumpkin-onion muffin as well as a lemon one, a cookie with chocolate and one without. Service was quick. We went there just after 9 AM and they were open, just as it said.
Read moreHad a chocolate cookie for 200 yen and a cacao energy smoothie for 850 yen which was filling. I've had better smoothies before, but it was decent.
Seems to belong to the same company as the restaurant veg out.
Wifi and toilet available.
Pros: Chocolate cookie
Cons: No more smoothie bowls

Seriously avoid if you have nut allergy! - Edit
My partner has a nut allergy. We explained this to the cafe and she showed us the items we could order and assured us it was ok. We ordered two smoothie bowls and two granola cookies. The smoothie bowls came with visible walnuts garnished on top (?!). My fiancé took it back and explained again and she did a kinda “oops!” and asked him to let her scoop them out instead of replacing the bowl.. assuring him it was JUST the garnish. However clearly it wasn’t and there were nuts either in the bowl or in the cookie maybe, because as soon as we had eaten he started to react and we have had the worst day as a result of it. The cafe didn’t show due diligence in guiding us through her menu as a nut allergy sufferer... maybe she should have made triple sure?? We trusted her, and my partner has sadly had the toughest day as a result.

Really lovely location - Edit
Really cute cafe inside a little shop and yoga studio, very peaceful. We had the soup which was mushroom and came with some really nice breads and a salad. Just a little bit small for the price but tasted lovely!

Failed - Edit
Second try was just a green smoothie and despite the staff and space being nice, I can not recommend this place. The smoothie was awful, totally unbalanced flavors. There are nice packaged cookies and crackers to buy though.

Two chances - Edit
We tried this place twice while in Kyoto as I wanted to give it a second chance but it unfortunately failed. Both times they had hardly anything to offer and the opening hours are not correct. I would not bother

Very very YUM - Edit
Oh this is a real oasis in Teramachi Marketplace ~ quiet, clean, and so much deliciousness in simple dishes. Smoothies, soups (burdock root soup is a favorite), salads, muffins (baked fresh every day-- the smell wafts into the staircase, oh wow), and delicious BROWN RICE rice balls (umeboshi plum my favorite)~ tasty coffee drinks and cookies to eat there or take away. Very sweet staff ~ menu in English and at least one staff person fluent in English.

Cool place, but bit pricey... - Edit
Great place, tho the small portion of smoothie bowl for around 1000 yen was not that worth, but I enjoyed the chillout vibe after shopping street vibe. They are nice with the service there😄

Rude - Edit
Did not eat here. Went in the morning when it said it was open but it was closed. We left and came back later when it was open. When we entered we were not greeted or acknowledged so went to the food counter and the lady very obvously ignored us. We sat down to read the menu as a yoga class came out and some of the yoga people put their stuff right where we were sitting even though there were many other spaces. In the end after being made to feel VERY unwelcome we left. Its a shame because we were really looking forward to eating here and hate giving vegan places a bad review but unfortunately it's just another [censored] yoga joint.

Lovely simple cafe - Edit
This is a calm spot for a light lunch or tea and cake - I had all of the above in fact! The soup set was very tasty and warming with a fresh salad and bread. Then the tea and muffin were equally satisfying; probably one of the nicest muffins I've eaten!

Quick stop shop for lunch - Edit
Small shop tucked away in the Teramachi shopping mall. It has a yoga studio and sells other products too. Small menu, muffins and smoothies available. We had the quiche set and some crumbed fish set and both were amazing. They came with little side condiments so you get the full vegetable needs in the one meal. Flavoursome as fish tasted like fish fingers and the quiche was the first in a vegan version I've tried and it's a better replica, filled with potatoes, beans and greens. Service quite slow. Ambience was really nice and felt om.

Great little find! - Edit
This is a little cafe hiding in plain site in a busy shopping mall. Not a huge choice of food but two great set meals to choose from - both Y1000. Service was a little slow but that suited the leisurely zen atmosphere of the place above the Yoga studio.

Really a small cafe-not a restaurant - Edit
This is a small cafe in a shared space with a tiny health food store and a yoga studio.
Read moreI guess it's right there in the name but I was expecting more food! When I went they only had two food options- a quiche set and another set where I wasn't exactly sure what it was...it had a potage soup, which I don't usually care for. Then you could get items from the sets just on their own.
What they did have was a lot of drinks (teas, coffees), some really good smoothies/nut milks, muffins, and a raw cake.
I had an okara muffin, which was good, but not as good as the muffins at Approiviser, a soy latte, and a strawberry cashew milk.
The strawberry cashew milk was just excellent. It was tart and really refreshing.
I liked the decor and there were books and magazines in Japanese about veganism and yoga.
The proprietor was really nice, which is more than I can say for the woman running the front desk of the yoga studio in the a.m. She looked annoyed at my presence. She only cheered up when I left, lol.
The hours of the cafe are really limited. It didn't open until 11:30 and it closes early too.
If you want great smoothies, come here, but if you want a full meal, go to the Veg Out in the same building as the other branch of Tamisa Yoga. Veg Out is temporarily closed but will reopen at the end of Feb.
You can also try one yoga class for 2000 yen or three for 4000 yen. I took Vinyasa L1 with Saki and it was great. I felt challenged but in a totally safe way. I was disappointed I hadn't gone earlier in my trip so I could have done the three class deal. They also have some classes taught in English or by bilingual teachers.
I rate the cafe 4 stars as a coffee shop/smoothie bar.
Pros: Great smoothies, Good atmosphere inside the restaurant
Cons: Almost no main dishes on offer when I went, Reception lady was cranky, Open for limited hours
