So Satisfying!

We ordered the vegan chips and dip to start, the dip was so yummy and cheesy! Then we had the vegan pulled pork sandwich and the vegan steak and cheese sandwich. They were both delicious and so satisfying! I'm very glad we visited, and would definitely return again!

Pros: Great atmosphere, multiple options, well priced!

Cons: None :)

Spicy pizza is spicy

Cozy vibes with cool hip-hop and reggae playing. Super spicy 'legit' pizza was the hottest thing I ate in Japan and really yummy.

Eggplant and parmesan pizza was delicious too. The smallest pizza 'medium' is still big enough to share with a side. Try the Indian pale ale :)

Nice vegan food

A good option for vegan food not far from Namba. Their menu isn't entirely vegan, but it's nice that the owners are always trying to add new vegan dishes, and they're very accommodating. The food doesn't always blow me away, but that's mostly been with dishes they made clear they were experimenting with, and I've never left disappointed. One of the few places I know in Osaka that has vegan okonomiyaki. The vegan bites were pretty good, and I definitely recommend the vegan brownies.

good stuff

They have good stuff, okinomiaki, calzone and steak sandwiche were all quite good. The fish and chips was ok, but a bit salty and not really fishlike, it had potato inside maybe? They don't skimp on the salt, otherwise they are quite alright.

Plaisir coupable

Eating a mix of poutine and nachos when in Osaka might be a shame but it’s truly good and the atmosphere was nice with a mix of locals and tourists

Interesting Place

We went here mainly for the okonomiyaki, since it's something that's a little harder to find vegan. It wasn't for us, but that's just a taste preference. I'd be interested to go back and try their pizza. Service was very, very slow when we went - we waited like 15 minutes to get the check after asking. Maybe they were just understaffed or busier than expected? There are also people smoking here, as other reviews have mentioned. It's well-ventilated, so it didn't bother me as much as it does in other places, but I could still do without it.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Very slow service, Smoking

Not bad!

There are a lot of vegan options at this place, they just don’t taste amaaazing. They are okay, but just not mouth wateringly good. We had the regular poutine starter, a calzone & two slices of pizza - the legit spicy & the pepperoni. They were all okay, just lacking a bit of flavour! Choc brownies were tasty. Service was great & easy though, & they had nice craft beer options. Would come back if I felt like some vegan junk food!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly service, Nice beers

Cons: Food just okay

Get the Hiroshima style okonomiyaki!

The okonomiyaki was great! Really authentic but vegan! The vegan menu is on the wall. DO NOT get the malple leaf cocktail, maple syrup and whiskey don’t mix at all and that’s coming from a Canadian. Recommend- okonomiyaki

Pros: Good okonomiyaki , Vegan menu

Cons: Not fully vegan , Some misses on cocktails

Nothing special

We got the mushroom “fish and chips”, poutine and veggie pizza... fish and chips were okay but somewhat hard and the fries weren’t that good, poutine was very mediocre and not enough cheese and especially not enough gravy and the pizza was okay but the sauce was plain, the cheese on top tasted more like mashed potato and wasn’t very flavoursome and the pizza base was undercooked. The portions are small too, excluding the pizza and it’s quite expensive for what you get. Nothing special and wouldn’t go back.

OK, if you can wait

Warned us of a wait (at about 1pm) as there was a table of 7 and a table of 1.
Took 35m for garlic bread, and then 12 mins for the pizza.
Pretty decent price and taste, but not amazing (saying that, I've been having amazing food in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara). Even if you're in no rush, I'd say it might be worth seeing what else is nearby if there's already a few people waiting for their 'zas.

The best vegan pizza!

I loved the vegan pepperoni pizza from Slices and I cry myself to sleep for not being able to eat here everyday.

Pros: Many vegan options, Nice, englishspeaking staff

Cons: A little pricy, 700 yen for one slice, and that ain't enough.

Excellent place to visit with Omni Friends

American styled bar with a separate vegan menu (starters/pizzas/calzone/okonomiyaki). Bar also caters to vegan drinks e.g had ‘Chaileys’ (Chai Baileys bubble tea with Soy Milk)

Pros: A separate vegan menu , Vegan alternatives with Drinks , Really good portion sizes

Good for vegetarians

NOTE: the actual menu they hand you doesn't actually list all the veg options! Look on the wall to find the separate vegan menu! Wish we noticed before ordering.

We came here in a pinch after other options were closed, but ended up enjoying it. Note that my boyfriend and I are vegetarian, not vegan, so we did order dairy. I got the cheese pizza and a house salad. The salad was unexpectedly huge, which was great and meant my money traveled farther. The pizza was quite good too. I had been afraid of any pizza in Japan because I had heard it's usually bizarre and nothing like actual pizza, but this could have been pizza from the US. I enjoyed it. My boyfriend got the nacho poutine, which he found pretty good, though it was a bit small. He wanted to have the vegan katsu burger but unfortunately they were sold out, so maybe try to get there earlier if you want it. He also got taro milk tea with boba, which was not the best boba ever, but yummy.

Pros: English fluent staff., Good for a break from Japanese food.

Cons: Smoking allowed., Cash only.

Great vegan options

This place has a wide variety of vegan options on the menu. I enjoyed a vegan chicken katsu burger. If was late and I was starving, so really did the job. Very close to namba station so location is ideal.

Good but expensive

The food here is a little to expensive for my taste and some of the food could be seasoned better but overall the place is clean and it’s tasty enough to go back if I were to be in the area again.

I’m a happy vegan right now!

So glad I found this little gem! Their separate vegan menu has so many options it’s hard to choose. I had the “chicken” katsu burger, it was next level awesome. I’ve been in Japan for 4 days now and this is the first proper meal I’ve eaten. Very much recommend. Their cocktail list is great too!

Pros: Great separate vegan menu, inc desserts.

Super vegan options, western food

I went here a few times during my stay in Osaka. Ask for the vegan menu and you'll see they have a lot of options. 'Fish' 'n chips, fries and 'chicken' bites. It was all very tasty, though the portions were small. The price was not too high. I recommend this place definitely if you are in the mood for western style vegan food.

Pros: a lot of vegan options, friendly staff, good taste

Cons: small portions

Amazing Vegan Options, has Seitan!

Saying this restaurant "has vegan options" is an understatement... When I think "has vegan options" I think "has a light tofu dish with veggies" but this restaurant goes all out. They have a full vegan menu that the owner made because she wanted to challenge herself with vegan food two years ago after having a few vegan customers enter. For her dishes, she makes Vital Wheat Gluten from flour by hand because it is difficult to obtain in Japan. The amount of research she has done into vegan food is astounding. The owner is also a fluent English speaker. The restaurant also has several vegan desserts including brownies. We tried her soymilk alcoholic boba drink as well as her Seitan Steak Sandwich, vegan pizza with cashew parmesan, and Seitan chicken burger and were very impressed with them. I highly recommend this place, and someone please send her some premade gluten to make vegan cooking easier for her!

Pros: lots of vegan options, price, taste

Oh yep!

Oh, it was so nice to be in a place where staff understand your language and especially what vegan means, after days of “sorry no”. This place offers an entire 100% vegan menu, which would be super tasty anywhere. We had a to-die-for vegan fish and chips. The fish is made with tender mushrooms and it’s super crispy, it’s served with fries and a delicious mayo. Yummy! We also had a tofu salad that they made vegan for us, and vegan pizza. So, so good and different from the regular Japanese meal. We had a vegan brownie too: so soft and scrumptious. Everything was great. Only one negative aspect: it’s a smoking restaurant. Nobody smoked while we were there, however keep it in mind.

Pros: Vegan menu , nice English speaking staff

Cons: smoking restaurant

Great vegan food in Osaka

There's not a lot of vegan options around Osaka but this spot in shinsaibashi really hit the spot. We ordered 2 slices of pizza from the vegan menu, as well as vegan poutine and some drinks. Only came to around 3000 yen total which is very affordable with drinks included! The food was very good too. The poutine was super tasty and the pizza had a lot of vege topping with a crunchy base and crust.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Not expensive , English speaking staff

Mixed feelings - would give 2.5 if could

Ordered: Vegan jackfruit con carne bread bowl. Got a decent (read: on the small side) bread bowl with jackfruit and beans.

This place is fairly straightforward to find. It's on a street that runs off the long Shinsaibashi shopping street. The staff speak English fluently and the menu is clear about which options are vegan and which are not.

I have mixed feelings about this place for two reasons:
1) They didn't seem to have as many vegan options as other reviews indicate. I was keen to try the mushroom fish and chips but did not see it on the vegan menu. They did have a vegan special happening though - the jackfruit con carne. As soon as I saw it, I was sold.
2) The jackfruit con carne was DAMN GOOD. Especially the bread; it smelled like it had been baked fresh earlier and had a nice flaky crust with soft insides. For the price I paid though, I would have liked to see a bigger serving size, and I'm a fairly small-sized eater. Then again, they did specify on a chalkboard outside the restaurant that the food by itself probably wouldn't be enough to satiate unless you ordered some alcohol. I may have ordered some alcohol if it was dinner time but as it was lunch and I was with my family, I didn't. I'll allow others to make their own judgements about whether the serving sizes are reasonable.

As a final note, this restaurant is a smoking location. This wasn't a problem to me personally but if you're not a fan of smoking locations, be aware of this.

Pros: Menu clearly delineates vegan options

Cons: Small sized portions (in my opinion)
