Quaint, Tasty, View of Notre-Dame

Busy and convivial atmosphere. Had a tasty bagel but was tempted to also try to vegan apple pie, which is served with coconut yoghurt. Next time!

Pros: Pesto & Carrot Bagel was simple & tasty, Strong, good coffee, Had options of soya, oak, and coconut milk.

Cons: Only a couple of vegan options.

Oasis on a hot day

Visited during the heatwave and got a cold brew with oat milk (€5.50)...expensive but happy to pay for quality drink in a large glass and sit in the shade gazing at Notre Dame. Staff were English and very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Choice of non dairy milk, Free water bottle refill, Discount if you use your bottle for drinks bought

Cons: Wasps on the food in the counter, Beggars and drunks in the area outside, No air con (cafe is small but airy)

Disappointed

I love this bookstore and I'm glad they have a cafe. It's become a major tourist spot, which is probably needed because their rent at that spot must be high. The cafe is super small and generally mobbed. I've been in twice on this visit and they had a vegan chia seed pudding and one vegan dessert in the case. For a liberal hippie type place I'd hope they had more vegan options, especially since they advertise "vegan" on their signage.

Pros: Love the bookstore, cafe a nice addition

Cons: Expensive, few vegan options, long wait, few table

Pleasant surprise

Came here to have a coffee after buying some books next door. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw they also had some vegan pastries and lunch options. I had a flat white and a vegan donut while sitting outside and reading my books. Yes, it is a little pricey but not super bad, considering it's a major tourist hub.

Pros: view of the Seine and Notre Dame

Cons: A little pricey

Lovely but pricey 😢

It‘s actually a really really cute café, I had a hot chocolate - chocolat chaud - with soy milk (6€) and a granola cake (4,50€) and both was very delicious! But sadly, it was very expensive and you have to pay 0,50€ for plantbased milk!! Therefore if you‘re on a budget it‘s not the perfect place to save money.

Pros: Plantbased milk, Vegan cake

Cons: Expensive, 50 cents extra for soy milk

Great coffee stop in the heart of Paris

Loved spending time in the bookstore and then grabbing an oat milk coffee to sit outside in the sun and read my new purchase! I returned for breakfast which was super tasty but as others have said, a little overpriced! I feel the price is worth the experience of this bookstore where you can sit and look out over the Seine and Notre Damn.

Good vegan options, but expensive

The Futomaki and the muffin are really good, but sometimes they run out of it. There are always a lot of people. Friendly staff.

Pros: Futomaki, Muffin

Cons: Expensive, Packed

Nice café for getting some rest

We had an apple pie (vegan) which came with coconut whipped cream. It was good.
We also had a fresh blueberry juice and coffee.

They offered also a vegan bowl and a couple of other vegan snacks.
Eat-in space is quite small inside; but there are seats in the terrace.

If you're around, it could be a nice place to get some rest while having some light vegan meal.

Pros: vegan options, location

Cons: not all vegan, crowded

meh

We came here for coffee and breakfast back in April but there were no vegan options except some overpriced cookie. Had tea and soy latte and left elsewhere. It's very tiny.

Cons: overpriced, not enough vegan options, tiny

Too expensive and not enough vegan options

I went there for a vegan breakfast, but I was a little disappointed.
There were two vegan options and both were really too expensive. The "vegan" was clearly indicated only for one of these options, for the second one I had to ask.

Pros: Location

Cons: More vegan options, Expensive

loved it!

I didn't even know this place was vegan-friendly before we went in so it was a really nice surprise!! I had a vegan bagel and a green smoothie and then we went back another day (bc I loved it so much) and tried a different smoothie and the soup of the day. I loved everything. The staff was friendly and I really loved the area.
I didn't find it expensive considering Paris isn't the cheapest city in the world

Pros: delicious vegan food, nice staff, lovely area

Cons: none

A little expensive

They had quite a few vegan options and you could switch out cow milk with plant based alternatives which was good. However I thought it was expensive and you didn't get value for the money. The interior was nice but it was small and felt a bit stressful.

The matcha latte I had was good but my avocado toast was bland and didn't fill me up.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: No value for the money

good for a light bite

Not many seats inside but if it's a nice day plenty outside with a great view. Food was simple but hearty and filling with local and homemade drinks.
Server spoke excellent English.

Nice black bean soup and vegan bagel

Some items a little on the expensive side but the soup was only €6.5 and therefore great value!

Sit outside in good weather for a lovely view of Norte dame.

Helpful staff and well signed vegan items.

great place with vegan options

For coffee they have almond, soy and oat milk! For food they always have at least one option (even though we got there before they had their delivery). I went several times while it town and loved it!

Not good for a student budget

I was really excited to try out this cafe as I love the bookshop and had heard great things, but I'm afraid I was a little disappointed.

I went with a friend to get some brunch, and we found that there weren't many options and that everything was very expensive. We wanted to give it a chance though so my friend had Indian split pea soup and a café allongé which came to 9 euros and I chose the vegetarian bagel option - feta and grilled vegetables (8 euros) and a filter coffee (3.50).

The interior is quite small and was packed so after getting our coffees we headed outside. I then realised I hadn't been offered any milk with my coffee, and peeked back inside but couldn't seem to see any so just had it black. It was nice coffee but very small for 3.50.

When our food arrived, it was on paper plates, which I found a bit weird as I'd already paid 8 euros for this bagel... My friend was offered bread and received two small slices with her soup. My bagel seemed only to contain one vegetable (courgette) which was fine as I love courgette but not quite what was advertised.

I have to say that we both enjoyed our food, but quite honestly I thought the price was ridiculous. I know it's Paris, but there are plenty of places in the area that are much better value.
It would be great to see Shakespeare and Co perhaps try to include some cheaper options on their menu.

Pros: Nice food, Good location, Nice decor

Cons: Bad value, Expensive
