Great vegan cafe - Edit
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My BLT club was really tasty and filling. My iced mocha was a bit disappointing. The cakes looked delicious, just wish I'd had space to try them.

Very Tasty! - Edit
Went here for brunch recently. The place is well decorated and staff were friendly. I had the poutine - not a traditional style poutine (no gravy, extra stuff) but it was HUGE and delicious. My partner had a special - avocado with black salt on toast, very nice and eggy.

Disappointing - Edit
We visited this place with high expectations only to find out that the food lacks in imagination and comes across as improvised. We tried a salad and a panini, the preparation was very basic, and a poor selection of ingredients but the real surprise was that there seem to be a lack of knowledge for basic recipes e.g. tofu serve raw. Only tried those two things but I wouldn’t go back.

Great food - Edit
Delicous food, went twice during my stay, had the daily soup and the asian bowl, both very tasty. the soup is a snaller portion but it's very cheap so you can buy something more to fill you up.

Two Happy & Full Souls - Edit
First time customers. Menu was varied and pleasing to look at. We chose the Asian Dumplings and Chips and cheese for a starter (greedy). Dumpling were crunchy on the outside and soft and hot in the middle. Chips were not greasy and tasted fab. Then had the Rainbow Wrap and did not disappoint and partner had the Hot Dog. Actually said it was better than the "old" version he used to eat. Smoothies were wonderful. Staff were lovely and settings were cosy. Definately come back x

Having tried a few things on the menu and them all being amazing, my boyfriend and I just keep coming back to make our way through the menu - we've not been disappointed yet! They also do the best vegan bacon I've found so far.

We went back thto same day for seconds.. - Edit
This place... wow! Not only is the food absolutely divine - we had breakfast and went back for lunch because it was so freaking tasty, but they are so unapologetically vegan and outspoken and I love it! No tiptoeing around the subject, and it’s brilliantly refreshing! Go here for an amazing breakfast, turmeric latte (my new favorite) and ‘bacon’ club sandwich!! Would visit every day if I lived in Edinburgh!

We went for breakfast, had the full breakfast and the pancakes. Both were absolutely delicious. I would recommend taking non-vegan friends here to show what is possible for breakfast. Furthermore, nice atmosphere and the waiter/bartender knew his coffee (the cappucinos were also great).

A Little Gem - Edit
I love Seeds for the Soul. I will treat myself every couple of months to lunch followed by coffee and a cake here. There is a good range of foods on the menu, with healthy and slightly less healthy options. The vegan poutine is a personal fave, but I've never eaten anything here that wasn't delicious. They always have a good range of cakes and sweet treats. The first time I had a slice of cake here, I had to double check that it was vegan because the icing was so creamy and delicious! The coffee is also brill, with a good range of plant milks available. Theres a nice relaxed vibe in the cafe. I've taken vegans and meat-eaters here and they've all enjoyed it.

The quality is really good but the portion sizes are not so generous (we ended up getting snacks from a shop on the way home!)

Top breakfast - Edit
Great experience, best full vegan breakfast I’ve had and all home made. The sausages were so good we had to ask if they were actually vegan. Also ordered the pancakes which tasted amazing and had a great amount of fruit, syrup and cinnamon; very relaxing place also. Would recommend every vegan try this establishment.

Great cake! - Edit
My husband and I have visited several times over the past couple weeks. We've really enjoyed all the food we've tried, and the cakes are amazing. Hands down the best vegan cake I've had anywhere. Normally I tend to avoid gluten free cakes, as I often find them to be a bit dry and crumbly. Not a problem with the cakes here, so I've been able to enjoy their entire selection! The people that run the cafe are lovely and welcoming, so it's a pleasure to visit.

High quality food and nice location - Edit
I've been to Seeds for the Soul 4-5 times now and have enjoyed everything I've tried, including various of the toasties, wraps, sandwiches, chips and the full breakfast - One minor point is that I'd like it if ketchup, vinegar etc was provided with chips / breakfast and some form of spread or oil for the the toast
Read moreI've also sampled various cakes and smoothies - The oreo mint choc sundae I had recently was particularly superb!
The cafe is a really nice space and the owners always take time to ask if you enjoyed your food. Understandably, service can take longer when the cafe is busy as everything is made fresh, so try to leave plenty time if you are going at peak times.
Pros: Creative menu, Lots of choice, Lovely space
Cons: Quite expensive, Lack of condiments

An Edinburgh Gem! - Edit
This spot ticks all the boxes - flavoursome, tasty vegan food, a cosy, homely atmosphere with friendly service. It’s hard to pick a favourite meal however I would recommend trying the following : Vegan Thunder Smoothie (Krav Maca after that) the Full Vegan Breakfast (the vegan sausages are out of this world!) the Cauliflower ‘buffalo’ wings and if you’ve got a sweet tooth the carrot cake or sweet pancakes. I hear the coffee cake is also delicious so that’s next on my list.
Read moreI love that everything on their menu is fully vegan and they have gluten free options for some meals. They recently got a new oat milk, Minor Figures Oat Milk, which in my opinion is a so much smoother and creamier than any milk alternative I’ve tasted before.
This spot works for those colder days as it’s warm inside and the little fairy lights and comfy couch style seats near the back of the cafe make the cafe feel cosy. On the odd occasion that it’s warm in Edinburgh 😉 they open up the front door and back window and you can relax in a cool, breeezy space.
Seeds for the soul is a Edinburgh gem for sure!
