One of the best meals I've ever had in my life - Edit
That's not an exaggeration. I had to deliberately stop myself from wolfing down the oyster mushroom Po boy because the whole thing was just the absolute best thing ever. Every. Single. Ingredient. I would eat that every day if I could. The asparagus was grilled and it has been so long since I've had anything from a grill that I legit almost shed a tear. It was a little salty but in a good way. Again, a flavor explosion in my face I would have every single day if possible. I also had the chocolate cake and it was also delicious but a tad bit thick for me (I'm not a cake-lover by nature but I'll probably never get the chance to be here again so I seized the opportunity). The people were so friendly and kind, I really enjoyed being there. The backyard space is also very nice and I appreciated the shade in the 90 degree weather! The exterior is fun and colorful and the interior is a little cramped but cute and overall I just had a great time.

Went there today with my daughters (we’re vegan) and my sister (meat-eater), and all four of us were blown away. We had the cheesesteak, patty melt, chili cheese burger, oyster mushroom po’ boy, and the chili dog. Mac & cheese, onion rings, lemon pepper fries. I am still stuffed but my mouth is now watering again as I look at our food pictures. We’re out-of-towners but we visit Roanoke regularly and we cannot wait to come back. Sometimes with burgers/American-style food, it can all start tasting the same. But that was not at all true here. The po’ boy is a special but they should make it a permanent menu item - the perfectly breaded, crispy shrooms, slaw and delicious remolaude sauce…it was everything I hoped it would be and more. And that chili sausage dog…like all of it, it was sloppy, gooey, cheesy deliciousness all the way. Dying to go back. Thank you Screamin Vegans!

Delicious food, great people - Edit
We stopped here on a road trip and had a great meal. I met several kind people waiting for my food and also really liked the staff. Everything we ordered was tasty but the jackfruit sliders were the best. It was also very affordable.

The po boy special was amazing, with the spicey slaw, the mashed potatoes with the steak and mashed potato were so full of flavor. I put vegan chicken broth in mine and theirs blew it outta the water.
The food was fantastic, the guys were super nice, and sitting out back was quiet and chill.
Drove from NY and this was a specific place I needed to try, did, and am not disappointed.
Keep this business going.

This is at least in the top 3 of all vegan restaurants I have tried. First, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I had recently become vegan when I ate here, and the staff was more than happy to answer questions and provide recommendations. Second, I got the patty melt which was TO DIE FOR!!! I haven't been able to find one as good anywhere else. The whole experience was definitely a 10/10.

Atmosphere was super laid back and casual; family/friend owned and operated, they made us feel like ol’ friends passing through! The 100% vegan menu was extensive with something for everyone! And they absolutely nailed their recipes! Their establishment is affordable and approachable, as they are extremely community focused! With community outreach events as well as new menu items constantly appearing, Screaming Vegan is not one to miss. Truly, it was a Virginia Gem, and we were so glad to have stopped by in our travels!!

Vegan food of every variety. Chili had a little tang to it which made it interesting to eat. Maybe pickled onions? Hotdog by itself didn’t have much flavor. Decent overall.

Chopped steak sub and crab cake sandwich were both delish! Yummy jalapeño garlic fries too. So many great choices on the menu it was hard to pick. Grateful to have found this place when passing through town thanks to Happy Cow!

Living in a small SW Virginian town I make sure to try a vegan place in every city that I go. The Screaming Vegan did not disappoint! I got the crab cake sandwich, and while rather pricey (the website did not portray the price accurately), I legit almost cried after biting into it. The texture and taste were fantastic! I also got the chili cheese fries as my side and while they were good I wish I had tried the brussel sprouts or asparagus. They have a cute little sitting area out back. When in Roanoke check them out!

Service was great. Chef explained popular menu items. The menu is probably a little too big, but it’s a lot of veganized classic fast food type items. I got the hot smoke with Brussels sprouts which were amazing. Cupcake was dry and overpriced in my opinion, but it’s nice they have vegan desserts. Will definitely be back to support a local business.

Went here while road tripping and it did not disappoint! We both got the Hot Smoke (a sort of spicy sausage/brat sandwich with meat crumble, pepper, and onions on top.

This was a great place to eat and stretch while eating in their outdoor area.
Only con was that the meals weren’t as substantial as we’d like.
Oh! They sell out of the crab cakes early, so don’t delay on those!
Pros: Good flavor, Fun aesthetic , Nice variety with specials

It was so good, I had to eat there twice! I was in Roanoke for a few days training, and had to check it out. I'm so glad I did! Great comfort food, great service and I just can't say enough good things. It will even satisfy non - vegans!
