Read moreThis branch in Düsseldorf is located in town, within a 20 minute walk from the main train station.
They offer a self-service buffet with diverse salads as well as warm foods such as curries, goulash, stews and sauces for potatoes, rice and noodles. You pick a plate/to-go-box among three different sizes, fill it up with whatever you like and pay at the cashier according to the size of your chosen container. In addition to that, you can also get a bowl for soup and order cakes for dessert as well as drinks - all with an extra charge.
It's not an all you can eat buffet!
Food is also well labeled in both German and English, whether it's gluten-free or spicy or whether it contains any garlic.
Overall, prices seem reasonable (11.90 EUR for the largest plate!), there are many choices for food which is creative, colorfully prepared and flavorful.
The restaurant is popular among locals and visitors, so it can get a little bit crowded.
Staff and customers are friendly, however, and the atmosphere of the interior is bright as well.

Read moreI would not give it full marks as I love a hot meal and the food is out on a buffet so by the time you eat it the meal is lukewarm. Also they are so busy so if you want to get a coffee I think you would have to queue up behind all the patrons getting their meal from the buffet. I was alone so I would have loved WiFi but I know that is not so important.

Very big variety of hot and cold dishes.. love the idea of paying for the plate. Had the small one for just under €8 and it filled me up for the rest of the day. Can see and taste that the food is fresh and good quality. Would definitely recommend and go back myself if in Dusseldorf again.

Nice bistro with a good vegan buffet, warm and cold. You can choose between three plate sizes. Soups are also available. I had a middle sized plate, which was really sufficient for me. Everything tasted very delicious! The selection of the warm part, for me, is quite similar. You can also sit outside.

This place is absolutely fabulous for having brunch, lunch or dinner. The buffet offers a great variety of very delicious vegan meals, salads and side dishes. There are also 2-3 soups to choose. We were a group of people having lunch there and everybody was more than satisfied. After the meal you can also have a dessert or just a cup of coffee.

Amazing buffet. So many options. You choose your plate- small, medium or large and you can put as much as you fit on it. Pricea are per plate size not per weight and food is absolutely delicious. And those cakes they have are just heaven. Definitely recommend.

A lot of Sattgrün's dishes are based on meat alternatives, so this is more of a place you would go to convince a meat eater. As a seasoned vegan I think it gets boring to eat soya steaks every time. Still it's nice to come back every so often to see what's new. I really like that you can decorate your plate with herbs, sesam and arugula at the end, so it looks much nicer than your typical buffet plate.

Düsseldorf does not have the greatest selection of vegan food, but this restaurant is amazing! Many options for both cold and warm food. Another great thing is that the price depends on if you choose a small, medium or large plate/takeaway box. Thereby you won’t have to pay as much if you aren’t that hungry. I was there at lunchtime and it was pretty full inside but they do have outdoor seating as well. However, a big con is that the “warm” food often is lukewarm. Otherwise it would be 5/5.

If anything the salad bar was too good, that I couldn’t fit in any cake afterwards! (I got a takeaway for later though!) such a treat to have a 100% buffet, soups, salad and hot food, plant milk & Epic Cakes! Lovely staff, and great vibe to the place! We will be back! 👍
