Huge menu and staff with huge hearts!
Read moreLots of choices for vegan pastries and empanadas..
I loved coming here to satisfy pizza cravings.
There is a daily special a great drink list.
The location is right out of a Metro station. But also in the central Universtat area, so easily accessible.
Pros: Large menu, Vegan pizza ,pizza ,pizza, Better beer choices than every other restaurant

Something for everyone - Edit
Great little all-vegan place with pizza, sandwiches, and pastries. For my wife's birthday, we spent the day at Monserat. We (one omnivore, one gluten free, and my vegan family of 5) were really late getting back (for our 3 young kids). We were so happy to find Santoni right off the Universitat Metro. Quick and yummy. We all loved the pizza. We kept ordering more empanadas. The gf meal was great. Ended with pastries and they even found a candle for us to sing happy birthday. Very nice staff. Small, but well chosen bottled beer selection.

Street Life - Edit
At last this place is totally meat free and 100% vegan. The empanadas are absolutely beautiful, delicious and packed full of goodness. There are around 10 varieties. We had a pumpkin one and a ham & cheese one. They're only €2. There's seating for about 15 inside including a watch the world go by window bench. It's cosy and friendly. Every town should have a Santoni.

Great vegan versions of Spanish classics - Edit
Stumbled on this place totally by accident as we left the Universitat metro station - so glad we did! The vegan version of a white Catalan sausage and cheese bocadillo was delicious, the strawberry and coconut milk smoothie tasted almost like a milkshake, and we had to go back for a second visit the same day to try the empanadas and chocolate pastries - all delicious. They sell everything from vegan carbonara pizza to croissants to tortilla, definitely a good place to go if you're nearby.

Used the last ride on our metro pass just for this place. Came for the chocolate croissants, stayed for the chocolate croissants. Amazing.

cute little place with awesome food - Edit
There seems to be some confusion whether or not this place is 100% vegan. We asked the owners (in our broken Spanish) if the sandwiches/empanadas were vegan and they said that they are. The ham and cheese sandwich was vegan. It definitely had the mushy soy/tofu taste/texture. The croissants were delicious. A plus that they open early as well.

A very nice place, a hidden jem among the thousand of restaurants in this city.
Read moreRun by a sweet couple, they offer delicious sandwiches, awesome Empanadas with all kinds of filling, and of course coffee and croissant (and many more) - all vegan of course.
And in reasonable prices.
I have had breakfast there, then returned to buy take-away sandwiches and Empanadas. Great.
If you're in the Ramblas/Gothic/Ciutat-vella (and nearby) you should try it out :)
Pros: Great food., Good prices., Good Service.

Nice little cafe..
Read moreSlightly confusing menu, and a few vegetarian things dotted about but seemingly mostly vegan.
The menu could do with a bit of clarification I think.
Also we visited 2 days in a row and ordered similar things with vastly different portion sizes.
Good coffee. Nice people.
Croissant is excellent!
Pros: croissant!
Cons: confusing menu

Vegan friendly coffee shop - Edit
Here you will find not a vegan coffee shop but a vegan friendly when anyone can go and eat something regardless of the diet choices.I come here very often and I must say they have excellent vegan croissant that goes great with a coffee, and for omnivores they sell meat empanadas however they are not done in the same place and basically they buy them made and sell them.If you are looking for a good place to have breakfast this is a good option.

nice, cozy and delicious food!! - Edit
I just loved the place! The owner was really nice and friendly! They offer a lot of vegan baked goods. There were only two things that were not vegan. They offer breakfast and lunch, coffee and juices. I had some toast with tahini, spinach and tomato and a croissant and orange juice. The breakfast was great. They offer 6(!) different vegan croissants and they taste great. Would definitely recommend it!

Proceed with caution - Edit
This place was really good until you realize they claim to be an all vegan place but serve meat , I'm not 100% that everything they claim is vegan is . I'd proceed with caution here for strict vegans

Not open at listed time - Edit
The food was good, and the atmosphere was beautiful, but they were not open at the listed time. I found that most restaurants I tried to visit in Barcelona and Madrid just opened whenever they felt like it. It seems to be the culture, but it's very frustrating as a traveler.

Small cozy place with friendly service that has juices, baked goods, empanadas and more. Loved the different empanadas. Too bad a few things are with meat... Service was friendly though they didn't speak any English but we managed with my horrible Spanglish.

Excellent!! - Edit
I tried many places in my trip in Barcelona and it was my favorite place. This place is not exclusively vegan but you just have to ask the employes. Crescents, empanadas, smoothies and cake were excellent. I went two times there and I'll return the next time I'll go in Barcelona for sure !

Best breakfasts in BCN - Edit
It's not 100% vegan but if you tell them they provide you with nice vegan food. Nice staff, they know the difference between vegan/vegetarian.
Read moreI would recommend the sandwiches: shawarma and ronda, the potatoes with vegan sauce are delicious. No deep frying here so it's healthier than the average vegan restaurant. The pastries and cakes are great: the croissants are the best I've tasted. Selection of juices, beers, Kombucha drinks, and Mate. Worth paying a visit.
Pros: Vegan options, Location, quality
Cons: Small, Not 100% veggie

Thanks for the update! That's worrying though...I was there last week because of it being listed as vegan , and got a couple of empanadas (4 cheese and courgette), and a long custard-filled pastry, and I asked in Spanish whether everything was vegan because I do worry about this (although I assumed it was a silly question as like you say, it says vegan all over the place), and the woman said yes. Maybe she meant yes for everything I ordered. I really hope it was really vegan, including the '4 cheese' empanada! I almost got the 'ham and cheese' one as I thought it was all vegan (and lots of veggie and vegan places, at least in the UK, use names like that for meat and cheese substitutes)...
