Samsara - Vegan heaven in the heart of Cluj-Napoca - Edit
Food was delicious. Meals were clearly labelled vegetarian or vegan on the menu as well as nutritional information and allergens. Service was excellent. There was a relaxed atmosphere and modern decor with a nature and organic theme. English menus available on request.

I come here every time I am in Cluj. There are a lot of vegan options to choose from and they’re all great. The only downside are the raw desserts (not a fan of raw food) and some contain honey. The vegan coconut balls are great though. I recommend their soups, all delicious, the cashew tofu pasta and the burger. The pizzas are hit and miss. It’s a shame they’re not a completely vegan restaurant, it would be so easy to replace all the cheeses they offer with their vegan counterpart.

Read moreThe appetizers are nice, focaccia with hummus was good. The vegan burger was unedible. Broccoli pasta with pesto was nice. The eggplants with cheese was ok.
They have matcha latte, but could have done a better job at dissolving the matcha to avoid the bitter taste.
Pros: The most vegan options in town, nice ambience.

I loved the food here! There are so many vegan options and not only raw food (I noticed many vegan restaurants in Eastern Europe are raw). We went there for three of our four meals when we were in Cluj :) Their raw cakes are wonderful!

Samsara is my absolute favorite place in Cluj. Everything is so delish, from starters to main dishes and deserts, smoothies and juices. They have so many vegan options, it’s heaven! Do yourself a favor and try their raw vegan cakes, you will be so glad you did. Just a heads up, you might want to make reservations, especially for dinner, the place is packed.

This lovely restaurant also has a nice outdoor seating and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Their specialties include both vegan and raw-vegan options. We’ve been here every time we visited the city and we simply loved it. It’s our safe haven, vegan choice in Cluj :)

Read moreMost detailed menu you will probably see in any restaurant nutrition wise, it gives you an idea of what portion size you will get, a long with fats and proteins which is really handy for diet minded people, and to give you an idea of what/how much to order.
Good amount of menu options, I only tried two the but both were very high quality.

A large variety of options, the decor was tasteful, rather classy, and the food was superb! We ordered the coconut, mango sushi, lentil and spinach curry (very spicy), mango and tofu chickpeas with rice (my main dish, I loved it!) and for dessert we tried two raw cakes: figs with sour cherry (it was ok, I’m not a fan of sour cherry) and the kiwi and pineapple cake (we both preferred this cake). The service was excellent, very speedy, and friendly. I will be returning and recommend it to all travellers and locals!

This is a great restaurant serving excellent food in a great location. Staff is attentive and courteous, menu is in English with pictures so you know what you are getting. I ate here 3 times and had (1) Chilli with Rice, (2) Fried rice with Tofu, (3) Lentil Soup, (4) Vegan Mustard Pizza and (5) Focaccia. All items were excellent but I wasn't so keen on the Mustard Vegan Pizza. Focaccia with Spicy pepper sauce is the best I ever had and Fried rice with Tofu and veggies + Chilli with Rice both were superb too. Lentil soup can be improved. One thing this restaurant can do, as an opinion leader, is focus on introducing and popularizing the vegetarian cheese (cheese without animal rennet) which is unknown in Eastern and Central Europe.

We have been to a lot of vegetarian restaurants and this is by far the best food we've had. We came to Samsara in September while travelling in Romania. We had the chance to stay very close to the restaurant so we went there quite a few times. Every time, I was surprised at how delicious the food was.
The food was amazing, the service was great. Our server, spoke English very well and was very friendly.
We came on a Saturday around 5pm and we were told that it was full, we needed a reservation. We were pretty disappointed until our daughter said: That's good! It means more people are eating vegetarian! We were able to have take out, problem solved!
The place is nicely decorated with lots of plants and there is a nice terrasse.
We LOVED it!
We highly recommend this place if you are vegetarian or not.

This place made me very happy. I had lunch and dinner here during my five days in Cluj. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, the beer is great and the waiters (especially Julian) were very friendly. The menu is one of the best I have ever seen. There was so much to choose from and the menu included pictures, the weight of the food, and basic nutrition info. Some reviewers mentioned that the deserts contain honey. I am happy to report that they have since replaced the honey with agave sirop. Not the healthiest replacement option but at least vegan.

I was there with 3 non- vegetarians, but we all enjoyed our meal so much. I ate a total raw vegan meal and it was perfect. Totally fresh and full of ideas. The raw bread and the dips are very special. You have to try. And the raw cakes are unbelievable good. Wow. Best vegan restaurant for me, so many choices. The menu is a book and despite all is served fresh and quick. Friendly service. Definitely a reason to come again to Cluj!
