Nourish bowl hit and miss - Edit
It’s such a shame as I loved the nourish bowl from here - the first two I had were amazing! Just a few weeks later they’re missing important ingredients like the jackfruit despite me paying for it - and it’s a rather empty looking bowl. Sadly I won’t be ordering again as its never been as good as the first time!

Capitalism Destroys Another Good Thing - Edit
Update: Sala's has grown to four restaurants in KL. I urge the proprietor to stop into this location and see what's going on here. The food and magic are gone. My burrito was terrible, Were out of mushroom asada. Beans were not black. It was dry and a chore to eat. it came with four chips. A joke. The lemon cake was stale and my coffee was served after my mean meal because the server was busy on his phone. I was the only customer at lunch time. I can see why. I cried when I left. Terribly sad.
Read moreOriginal: There is an extreme shortage of perfect vegan Mexican restaurants in the world and it would be a shame if something happened to damage this one. That’s why I’m suggesting that the recipes contained within the food at Sala are distributed onto stone tables and scattered throughout the known universe for safe keeping. As hard as it is to find good Mexican food, it’s even harder to find vegan Mexican food made by real vegans and this surely is the key to Sala’s success. Fauzi, the creator of this masterpiece was extremely cool and this came through in every single feature of the cafe. The smoothies with chia. The espresso. The fresh juice. The oyster mushroom chipotle chimichanga. The guacamole. The vegan sour cream and cheez smothered meal I ate was by far the best Mexican in the world. Well worth the ten minute ride from KL center. If you are in SE Asia, no... if you are on Earth, make a visit to Sala. Gracias por todo!!

Pros: Vegan Mexican, Very Affordable , Killer smoothies
Cons: A billion Chipotle’s but only one Sala, I’m ruined, no other meal will compare., Only one mouth to enjoy the food with.

Even before they were not really good sorry...the passion is missing I do not really believe workers and owners actually mean save all the animals -- in their case with delicious and affordable food.

I was there for their grand opening and the owner made my meal personally and took great care and interest. Super sad what happened here.

Oh wow...when was this? Sounds like a wonderful fairytale. Just a really bad experience at Minf, so sad, I get soo Hardcore disappointed about bad bland, pale, not fresh..not yummy food

Just learned the owner sold this chain several years ago to a non-vegan (anti-vegan) corporation and that perfectly explains why it sucks now. So sad.

I can’t agree more. They’ve gotten worse than bad after they got bought over by Berjaya. It’s usually a disappointing experience every time I dined at or ordered from a Sala.☹️ And I also agree with AnnewithanE that Minf’s food is pretty bland.

Delicious food, nice people - Edit
We came in 45 minutes before closing and the staff was kind enough to offer us to sit down and eat there without any word about closing soon (we still ordered takeaway). Great variety of regional cuisine flavors (e.g., Mexican, bbq, Indian, and Malay themed burritos as well as make your own). Burritos, tacos, bowls, smoothies. The bbq jackfruit burrito was delicious, and we enjoyed the Mangonana and Piña Colada smoothies too. I’d love to come back next time I’m in KL.

A place of indulgences - Edit
My first fully vegan restaurant in Malaysia, and an excellent one! I ordered a tacos combo first, then a Bagel Burger. Everything was super tasty, and servings were just about the right size for me. Considering food quality and the demographic aimed at, it's pretty cheap too.

MEXICAN NICE FOOD - Edit
Oh my god, I never know that I could enjoy the mexican food in Malaysia! First, I try in on Thrusday in Plaza Mont Kiara stall, the tacos was impressed me. Then the very next, I visit the shop. And, what happen? It soooo spicy, sour and so sweet! The food is so nice and the service is so good. I never try mexican food before and I do not know how to order either. But the waiter is so patient to guide me and provide me such fantastic food!

I would move to Kuala Lumpur for this place! - Edit
The food is all off the chart amazing, burritos with mushroom Asada and either jackfruit, tofu or tempeh is probably my favourite savoury. But also a shout out for the hericium mushroom nuggets and cheese fries. The deserts and juices are to die for. If you're lucky they will have the pecan slices in stock when you visit. Whenever I visit KL for visa applications this is one of the highlights of my trip, and I always bring a takeaway back to Thailand with me for myself and my girlfriend if she is not with me. Then I have to stay strong and not eat hers on the trip back... she would kill me... death and sala or life and less sala is a hard choice haha. The owner Fauzi and all the staff there are so welcoming and friendly, they are truly beautiful people

Best brownie ever tasted!! Food is superb! - Edit
First of all, the Peanut Butter Brownie is the best brownie we've ever tasted. Hands down. If I lived in KL I would be spending all of my time (and money) here just eating brownies. Realistically, that ain't going to happen but if you're heading here for a meal then you need to save space for one of these bad boys.
Read moreIn addition, the Nasi Lemak is on point here. From the innovative mushroom "anchovies" to the highly addictive sambal olek, my husband (who has never tasted Nasi Lemak before) had to order a second bowl of the Nasi Lemak because it's that good. Go for the large plate, instead of the 2 x small bowls that we went for (had we known we were going to have space for more food, we would have ordered the big plate to begin with!), You will not regret it.
The tacos are delicious!! I wish I knew at the time of ordering that they had a 2-for-15MYR Taco Tuesday deal because I would have ordered 2 tacos!! Fresh, wholesome, delicious - check out the specials on the small whiteboard next to the till to see if there are any special flavours. Something we missed out on when we ordered!
The Nourish Bowl was an absolute dream. Lots of ingredients, lots of nourishing flavours - a great healthy balance to that brownie you're going to eat!
There were other things we wanted to try but sadly our two stomachs can only fit so much. Highly recommend taking the trip here to eat - your bellies will thank you later! 👍
Pros: Lots of options, All vegan and homemade, Best brownies ever
Cons: None!

Great combinations of food that hit all the spots - Edit
I’ve been to this place a lot since I’ve been in KL. The owner’s lovely and the food is delicious. The theme is very much Mexican with the occasional nod to Malaysian cuisine - the mushrooms battered and fried to simulate ikan bilis for the nasi lemak is great. Most dishes don’t do this annoying thing of pretending to be meat. Everything is delicious with great textures.

We took a taxi here for RM 25 and it was more than worth it. Smiley, friendly and helpful staff / owners, a delicious range of all vegan food from salads, burritos and yummy local nasi lemak to brownies and lemon cake. Genuinely caring owners with great ethics and a determination to spread the vegan love in Malaysia. Worth frequenting and supporting...we would if we lived in KL.

As I am sitting here... - Edit
... I want to cry because tonight I am leaving KL and I just discovered this place. Every time I eat at a vegan place I think it is the best and then I find that I am mistaken. This restaurant is the definition of perfection. Their food is amazing, I don't know how to describe it. Please go here, this is superb!!!!
Read moreWe had the Malaysian curry burrito (with hericium mushrooms that taste sooooo much like chicken it's unreal) from the special board, a mexican style burrito with jack fruit, tempeh and all the trimmings. We also had the peanut butter and banana smoothie which was like drinking a cake. And then peanut butter brownie and ice cream.
Lucky is my boyfriend as he is staying in KL for a few more days and will get to try a few more things off their menu, I am so jealous @#$%!
EAT HERE. This is one of those places that you go to and wish you'd spent the last 10 years massively overeating and stretching your stomach, so that you could eat it all over again straight away.
UPDATE:
Every time we are in KL, we make sure to go here. Its has been at least 4 times now and as soon as I have a holiday, I'll make sure to go to Sala again. They have a new menu with even more options! Also, please do yourself a favour and try the pecan bar, it will blow your mind and your tastebuds.
