Favorite vegan restaurant - Edit
Definitely, this vegan restaurant is my favourite in Shanghai. I've been there many times and everything is delicious. Dumplings and vietniamese rolls are delicious as well as the different pizzas.

Large selection of appetizers, entrees, and deserts. Everything is prepared with attention to detail and all of the dishes are fresh and filling.

They also make cakes to order and sell a few products from other vendors (e.g., juices, chocolates, books).

It’s our go-to vegan Chinese restaurant here in sh! You can find many traditional Chinese dishes in vegan style. Love especially the curry.

We love it - Edit
We visited this vegan restaurant 3 years ago when it just opened.
Read moreWe were back in Shanghai and we ate there 4 times in 2 weeks-it is our favourite.
The food is delicious-it is not greasy and there is a good size menu. The major change from the first time is that more of the staff speak English and we were always welcomed-when we went back for the third time it became a bit of a joke.
The only problem is that it closes at 9.00pm--we noticed that all the vegan restaurants seem to close at 9.00 pm whereas other restaurants stay open later.
Highly recommended
Pros: pure vegan with no attempt to have imitation meats, good level of English and friendly staff, prices are reasonable
Cons: closes at 9.00pm

Good but pricy - Edit
I had tea, fried potatoes, tempeh with vegetables and a piece of chocolate mousse cake(¥180/23,4€). I think the food was good but not worth of the price because the portions were tiny. I've eaten in many Chinese vegan/vegetarian places where the food has been better and cheaper with bigger portions. The chocolate mousse cake was pretty standard, rich, coconut oil based cake. Not bad at all.
Read moreI understand if the desserts and some of the more complex dishes are expensive because they are made of expensive ingredients but simple fried vegetables shouldn't cost that much.
I'm still gonna go a second time and test some other dishes and desserts.
Pros: Friendly service, Menu has a lot of variety. , Impressed by the amount of teas and desserts
Cons: Expensive, small portions

True veganism, amazingly good food - Edit
Food prepared here is a work of art. The chef puts passion into creating the most scrumptious dishes that also look beautiful. The staff here really care about veganism for health, animal welfare, and spirituality. It’s always a great experience dining here. They also have some new pizzas/flatbreads, one of which my friend and I just tried with cheese, pumpkin and figs.. oh so delicious. Their cheese is delicious and made in house. I also recommend the avocado pizza, cheesey tomato and mushroom rice bake, spring rolls, and their yummy cakes. Also their cup of coffee is really, really good.

If Vegan - Edit
This place was a block away from my hotel and despite not liking it in 2017, I gave it another shot.
Read moreOverall, this seems like a place that probably does best with Western food. Though, when in China, I'm going to be eating Chinese food! That said, I ordered a soup from the Chinese side of their menu and the (very friendly waitress) talked me out of my chosen soup and directed me to a tofu soup. The picture showed the tofu fried but the soup came with uncooked tofu (which is not appealing to me). I was disappointed in the overall flavor and ingredients. The broth was very bland and the unflavored/uncooked tofu left much to be desired. Plus, this place is a bit more pricey than other places that I loved. I probably won't bother eating here again, sadly.

Best Vegan Pizza EVER - Edit
Me and the wifey totally enjoyed the vegan pizza with cashew cheese sauce. It was better than any pizza we have had yet, both in china and in america. It was made on some flat bread type of crust which totally crushed it. It wasn't massive but was soooo filling. We also got the quesadilla which wasnt as impressive, was kinda too thin, but still tasted delicious. Prices were average and supported the ambiance...definitely felt like they were reasonable and not asking too much. Be sure to eat desert, the chocolate mousse cake was inasnely delicious, was worth 10x the price.

Good place to enjoy - Edit
Located between green metro lines 'West Nanjing Road' and 'Jing'an Temple'. Offers some vegan stuff, as a 'full menue' i could only find the both vegan pizzas and a fruit bowl.

Geo-Position at openstreetmap is correct.
Pros: Friedly and bright stuff which can speak English.
Cons: Pictures at the iPad (menu card) device can be dec, eive because a scale is missing. Pizza costs 120 R, MB. Expensive.

Great place - Edit
Great place, quite pricey though.
Read moreHad their vietnamese summer rolls - they were good, but really small. Also tried their Indonesian style coconut curry. It was suprisingly un-oily and the veggies were still crispy which I loved! Also had their wholegrain brown rice/quinoa mix as a side. I paid quite a fair amount, but left the restaurant nourished and in a somewhat peaceful mood.
Nice decor! Staff is also incredibly helpful, friendly and talkative. It seemed more like a restaurant than like a café to me though - I would definitely not take my laptop there to work. Their cakes looked great though if you're into sweet stuff!
Pros: All vegan, Wholegrain options, Friendly staff
Cons: High prices

Cute cafe with friendly staff - Edit
I really want to give this more stars as it was a cute cafe with such nice staff, BUT the food was small portions and in my opinion quite expensive. I left hungry despite spending a decent amount on food. Otherwise the food wasn’t bad (also not amazing), the tea was really nice and they kept it refilled. It’s in a good area for shopping too.

A wonderful vegan paradise - Edit
I thoroughly enjoyed the calm atmosphere and tasty well presented food. Exceptionally clean it is evident that the friendly staff care about and take pride in what they do. I was impressed with every aspect. There is an amazing variety. The menu is a clever iPad with photos divided into categories, so you can swipe to what you want and add it to a cart. This will now be my go to dining destination in Shanghai.

Lovely little place with delicious vegan food. I tried curry dumplings, mushrooms with peas and had to try a waterlily tea! They have an exciting range of teas with flowers and food, but their dishes were a bit smal compared to chinese standards.

Shanghai vegans - Edit
This was such a nice dinner experience.
Read moreI went to If Vegan last year with a friend. We had nori wraps, greens, fried tofu and some other dishes as well. Everything was well prepared and service was outstanding.
My only request for improvement is that the place goes organic! When I was there, only a few menu items were organic.
Any Way, If Vegan is a Shanghai favourite. Leaving this place, walking the avenues of Shanghai, I thought to myself: I could live here.
Pros: Great atmosphere, Wonderful service, Tasty, crunchy food
Cons: Not organic
