Vegan square sausage!!! - Edit
Pleasant cafe with separate vegan menu. Nearly fainted with joy when I saw vegan square sausage - so ordered the full vegan breakfast, and very nice it was too! Also ordered a vegan macaroni pie to take away for my lunch later on... which was absolutely delicious. What a treat! Will definitely visit again when I am next in Glasgow.

Great vegan menu - Edit
This place created a vegan version of a Scottish delicacy, the "Square sausage", which got them some social media coverage (and I believe a lot of negativity from punters with not much else to do with their time than moan about some fried plant ingredients mushed together, fried, and put on a roll. Priorities...). They mention some vegan option or two on their outside sandwich board, and post of new vegan items in stock on their Facebook page, but it is a bit disappointing they don't have their vegan menu in the window. If I wasn't so active in using the.web to get vegan tips and news I'd unlikely think there was much for me going by the menus they do have in the window.
Read moreI ordered a soya latte with caramel syrup, which came minus syrup and I had to ask for it to be added. For food I ordered the roll and square sausage and added a potato scone and also ordered a macaroni pie made from vegan cheese - bought in from Glasgow-based vegan company 'Cool Jerk Vegan'. They also buy in vegan cheese and butter alternatives from 'Nutcrafter' (also Glasgow-based), and vegan and gluten free raw cakes. I've eaten these mac nae cheese pies before but it was a lovely novelty to eat one in a cafe with baked beans. Normally they don't last long enough after I've bought them to take home to have as a meal.

Second time lucky - Edit
First tried to eat here on the day of the Great Scottish Run but they had been forced to shut their kitchen as they had run out of food. Left disappointed but swore I'd return for the vegan square sausage.
Read moreReturned a couple of weeks later and it was worth the wait. Great rolls and square sausage (a Scottish delicacy) and if that wasn't enough, the waitress remembered me from my first attempt and apologised that they couldn't serve me.
My wife is vegetarian and she had a veggie breakfast, which she really enjoyed.
We have added this to our where to go for breakfast list and am sure we'll be back soon.

Vegan fried breakfast - Edit
Rose & Grant's have a separate vegan menu, and they serve a full vegan scottish breakfast (including a vegan square sausage), all day, every day. For healthier options, the soup is always vegan and they also have a variety of vegan salads, sandwiches, and specials. They also have recently started serving raw vegan cake, vegan pies, and vegan chocolate all from locally sourced suppliers in Glasgow.
