We came in after regular lunch hour and the entire staff had lunch themselves or took a nap but we were still being served. The staff in general is very friendly.
You can pay by card, but be ready to pay each time you order something additional.
If you need to go to the bathroom, you need to ask for a key, since it's at the other end of the hallway.
The restaurant's decoration is nothing striking.

Came here for a quick afternoon bite. Not too many diners at 3pm on a Sunday, which made for a calm and cozy atmosphere. We shared the Thai appetizer platter and two cakes. Everything tasted great. I look forward to coming back and trying some mains next time I'm in town!

Root Vegan is not only extremely delicious and has a great variety of unique dishes! The staff is so friendly and sweet. We loved every bite today! However, be prepared it’s not too easy to find😉Root Vegan is on the first floor on a regular building with appartements. You would not expact such a nice restaurant there.

We had the Rainbow Super Bowl, the Truffle Cream Linguine, soup of the day, mini salad and mint and lime water. For dessert, we had the lemon tart.
All dishes were excellent, but I was especially impressed with the lemon tart: it had the exact right texture and taste. It was not too lemony and not too sugary, just right.
Root Vegan is really one of the best choices in Hong Kong for people who want tasty dishes that are recognisable but that have a specific Root Vegan signature.

Worth the effort to find! - Edit
We're glad we didn't give up trying to find this place: it's up a flight of very unassuming stairs with an unremarkable entrance on Wellington St. This place is amazing with a lovely interior (and very popular on a Monday lunchtime), lovely staff and really lovely food. The food was delicious and well presented and so were the drinks we had.

We were really hoping to try the noodle bowls but we were disappointed to find that the spiciness levels could not be changed. Since neither of us tolerated spice, we had more limited options. That said, what we did get was pretty good !

紅咖哩雜錦蔬菜天貝 ， Signature Red Curry Veggies & Tempeh. The curry spice and heat are just right. A good amount of veggies and tempeh. I would prefer a bit more for the noodles. The combo with salad and a drink was $180. I would say is on the high for a lunch.

Right next to the Mid-Levels, but a bit hidden is this lovely restaurant. Great atmosphere, some outdoor seating and, even more important, the beautiful food! I had the lunch set with ramen. Creamy and rich with good amount of veg in a large portion. Yum! Not so expensive for the amount of food and quality. Made me so happy. Went on a weekday during lunch so was able to get a space but looks like it fills fast. Ordered at the counter and need to busk own table.

Nice vegan spot, I had the ramen bowl, it was delicious and the portion generous, the noodles they used tastes and feels like proper ramen noodles which was chewy and thick. Decent amount of toppings, but wish they brought back the ‘just egg’.

Secondly, when I finished my meal and got up to leave, I was asked to return my tray to the trolley. This I have no issue with, but there is no visible sign or label to inform customers that they are required to do so, which made me feel like I was lacking etiquette, but in fact it was because I had no idea due to a lack of signage.
Please make sure there are clear signs for customers if you wish for them to return their own trays.
