Deserves the hype - Edit
We were so happy to stop here on our trip through New Mexico. They asked first if they could give a toy to my daughter. She chose a teddy bear and loves it. We had "egg" salad sandwiches. They were really really good. The bread was fantastic. The chef was really nice.

The menu is small but oh so tasty!
Read moreThe bread they use for their sandwiches is phenomenal!
The sides were all packed with flavor too.
We didn't go on a Friday, so we missed out on fresh baked goods. But they sold us frozen ones for half price and they were fantastic! I can only imagine them when they are fresh.

So good! - Edit
This cafe is so good! I had the Enchanted Eggless Salad Sandwich which was perfectly seasoned and on the best bread I've eaten in years. The service was very friendly and I wish I could have eaten here more during my trip to Santa Fe. Make sure you get the Biscochitos and the Peppermint Patties, both are amazing.

While I only had the chance to try some baked goods from here, I would happily visit again for a full meal anytime. The baked goods were superb.

Divine Jewish Comfort Food! - Edit
What a great place! We lucked out and came on a Friday so we were able to eat the special veganized Jewish bakery treasures: challah, babka rolls, and a coconut muffin. We took "egg" salad, tofu salad, and coleslaw with us on our day trip. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. We could have spent the day chatting with them.

Delicious! - Edit
We came here for lunch and each got the multiple options place. Lots of Gluten free choices. A small location with indoor and outdoor seating. Has the crab cake, curry tofu (wow!), cole slaw (fantastic), eggless salad (tasted a little like eggs). Cranberry chickpea salad was also great.

Jack's is spectacular. - Edit
This is a review of the Friday Jack's Magic Bakery version of Root 66.
Read moreThis is a lovely little bakery/cafe and it is wonderful to know that everything is vegan. The offerings are mostly sweet, and everything we had was delicious.
The smaller chocolate babka had decadent, rich dark chocolate. The cinnamon babka was a little lighter (and easier to eat with your fingers). We picked up a few things for later, but tried a little sample of the ruggale and challah bites - wow.
If you are in Santa Fe, plan a stop here on Friday morning.

Fresh, flavorful and fun vegan food. ALL VEGAN menu including bakery and chocolate treats. Talked with the owner (who wears all the hats and seems like a great guy!) and really respect his hard work and commitment to running a vegan restaurant. My family and I all loved the amazingly delicious food!

Delightful little neighborhood spot. After eating here a few times since they opened, whenever we pass through town, our only wish was for more variety of goodness to choose from, and that wish does seem to be coming true over time, especially with the addition of superb bakery items.

This place is absolutely fantastic! We generally stop in on Fridays for Jack’s bakery when we’re in town. Literally everything is amazing.
Read moreTheir “egg” salad is the best… I spend a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to duplicate the recipe, with never quite the same results :)
It’s not cheap. Worth the price, yes, but cost prohibitive to come ALL the time.
Pros: Everything, I mean everything is good, The owners are so, so nice, It’s 💯 vegan!
Cons: Pretty pricey

Loved Jack's Magic Bakery. So surprised to find this gem! The baked goods, what can you say, can't even get these Jewish baked treats in NYC. And, the soup was SO good! Hope this place thrives - a huge draw for Santa Fe!

Fantastic - Edit
An international affairs organization to which I belong recently hired Root 66 to cater meals for a two-day meeting. The food was outstanding, and everyone appreciated the nuances of flavor and the unusual dishes presented by Jack, the cook (and owner?). Jack, with his parents, provided outstanding service, and they could not have been more helpful and professional. We could not have been taken better care of, and I would definitely hire the family for food service again in the future. Root 66 is definitely a sterling addition to food offerings in Santa Fe. Many thanks to the Egber family for their amazing quality of food and their kindness and hard work.

I was passing through town and found this location on HC. Stopped in for an egg salad sandwich and a couple desserts for the road. Worth coming in for the good food and friendly staff. Not much for vegan food in Santa Fe, but this fills the need.

Best food in Santa Fe - Edit
If you happen to be driving through or visiting Santa Fe, do yourself a favor and stop by this phenomenon vegan spot. My wife and I popped in and pretty much had everything on the menu. The sandwiches are elite., the desert was exquisite, and they even had vegan dog treats. If I could give them six stars, I would.

The owner, Jack has built a great establishment. He is owner, bakery, chef, and barista. The egg salad sandwich was one of my husband’s favorite. I love the curry tofu. Deserts are a must have! So is the chili, try it with cranberries and peanuts (don’t knock it til you try it).
