Outstanding - Edit
What an incredible spot. The owner was so friendly and accommodating, asking questions to ensure everything he was using was ok! Cannot recommend enough. If you’re in Hiroshima - GO!!😄#Veganuary

Good and friendly - Edit
First, the amount of spring onions YES. When you visit Roku just tell the owner you’re vegan and they will sort you out. I got okonomiyaki with spring onions and mochi. Deffo recommend mochi for vegans! It’s yummy and has a great texture.
Read moreSince I speak Japanese I chatted with the owner about what else could be added since we realized the kimchi he had has fish in it. I mentioned these days vegan soy cheese can be food easily in many supermarkets now so hopefully he will be adding soy cheese to the menu someday. If you visit and speak Japanese please tell him too!
Pros: Owner understands what vegan is, Delicious, Good atmosphere
Cons: Limited option of toppings

Great small okonomiyaki bar - Edit
The cook/bar keeper is really nice and understands your vegetarian/vegan wishes pretty good. He will also ask if you want to eat eggs, fish, pork and so on.
Read moreThe okonomiyaki tasted really good and will also fill your stomach because of the noodles inside.
Strong recommendation, but do not expect a pretty long stay - you will just sit on bar chairs.😄
Pros: Tasty, Nice staff, Affordable
Cons: Not the most cozy place

Such a fun experience! - Edit
When you get off the elevator on the fourth floor of the Okonomimura Building, turn right and go all the way down to the last stall. That’s Roku! Although nothing on the menu is vegan (or even vegetarian) as-is, the chef was very accommodating in creating custom okonomiyaki for my husband and I to enjoy. At each step of the way he clarified which ingredients we could or could not eat and turned out some DELICIOUS Japanese pancakes. We each had veganized okonomiyaki with yakisoba, cabbage, rice cake, garlic chips, sprouts, and green onion topped with fruit-based okonomiyaki sauce. The food was cooked right in front of us while the chef kept up jovial conversation. It was a lot of fun!

Great Okonomiyaki experience - Edit
The chef was so kind, his English was good and when I told him I was vegetarian he asked about pork, eggs, and fish to see what I could eat. He was happy to make me a delicious Okonomiyaki without fish and pork. There was no wait, and the portion was huge but I still finished it all because of how good it was. Super nice place and not too expensive. I paid 1700¥ for a big Okonomiyaki and 2 alcoholic drinks.

Good Okinomiyake, good chef - Edit
Chef asked about ingredients to make sure they were ok. Cooked on same grill as everything else but only relevant if that bothers you. Chef was chatty and helpful. And the Okinomiyake was tasty!

Best Okonomiyaki from now in Hiroshima - Edit
Not everything's vegan but the staff adapts one of them. The base is only flour (in a lot of places is flour and egg). Very good option
