Hands down the best vegan cafe in Osaka - Edit
A regular lunch haunt when I was working round the corner. ¥1000 set menu for lunch. Different dishes every day, but always high quality washoku. If you’re vegan, visiting Japan and want an authentic Japanese dining experience without the stress on language barriers this place is a must.

WOOOW !!!!!! - Edit
The best Japanese restaurant I had ! Great atmosphere and the food is just amazing and artistic ! Great quality too and very cheap (1000¥). I really really recommend this authentic place (total opposite to these "western vegan restaurants" far from the Japanese style). Wonderful !

Wonderful! - Edit
For one chef to serve all 6 of us on short notice was a gift. Not only that the restaurant, with 12 seats total, filled just after we arrived. On his own this young chef has a pre-set meal that he fixes for everyone. There is no menu. Beautiful fresh traditional Japanese cuisine, all vegan. Lovely presentation. Also very good sake.

Wonderful place! - Edit
We had lunch here after finding it on Happy Cow. This is a wonderfully relaxing place, with very good and enjoyable food. The dishes looked vegan as far as we could see. The owners, although they didn't speak English, were very nice and welcoming. The set meal consisted of miso soup, organic rice, a salad with sesame dressing, vegetable pancakes, and two smaller vegetable salads. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood! (Fixed price: ¥1000 per person)

A hidden gem - Edit
It's not easy to find a place in Japan serving traditional food made vegan and organic, and at this price this is an unbelievable deal; what you get here would be at least 50% more at one of the "hip" places downtown. A bit off the beaten path, but if you like home cooked Japanese it is absolutely worth it. The space itself is also quite relaxing and atmospheric.
Read moreThe set comes with brown rice, miso soup, some greens and pickles, a kind of curry potato thing (mine and the photos of others' on here all have it so I'm guessing it's standard) and a main which changes. All flavours are typically understated which makes cycling between items a delight. Quite recommended.

Delicious Japanese Veg Food! - Edit
The food here was the highlight of my Osaka trip as I love trying out interesting/unique foods! For just 1000 yen they have one set meal on offer that is totally vegetarian and uses organic produce. Absolutely delicious and a great way to try some vegetarian Japanese cuisine. When I went, the meal included organic brown rice, miso soup, a warm main dish and several room temperature side dishes or vegetables and pickles. There's no English menu and I don't know if the owner speaks much English, but he just brought out the day's set meal without us having to order since there's only one option. I forgot to try and ask if the food is always vegan or not, but it's definitely vegetarian. Being Japanese cuisine it's unlikely they use milk in cooking so if you're vegan you may be able to enquire (using google translate) if the day's meal could be customised if it doesn't already happen to be vegan. The server/cook was really friendly, atmosphere is classy yet relaxing, and the food is superb. They have coffee and sake too. Would recommend checking it out if you are in Osaka!
