Yum - Edit
Seems like about 70% of items are vegan and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Super tasty, big full plate for a reasonable price. I highly recommend!

NIce place, lots of healthy options - Edit
I really like going there because there are so many vegan options to choose from. Some of the things can be bland sometimes. But it's the only veggie buffet in Mtl so they've got to have points for that. It can get a bit pricey.

My go-to comfort food - Edit
Most of the choices are vegan and it’s always good! The must try would be the Mediterranean stir fry and the ginger tofu.

Lots of selection! - Edit
Lots of vegan choices, you will find something you love. However, it was very expensive when you pay by weight and the quality is good, not great. The dessert was the best part. I would go back for the desserts!

Meh... - Edit
Wide assortment but not very tasty. The tomato barley soup had a lot of cornstarch so it was gummy. And the salads were uninspiring in taste. Looked a bit tired...I was coming late in the afternoon perhaps so they’d been out for awhile? Pity since the concept is really excellent.

Cons: Expensive, Not vibrant looking - kinda tied looking, Taste was in the lower scale of average.

Great food - Edit
The food was amazing, there's such a wide range of options from raw cabbage salad to vegan nuggets. The method of service is serve yourself pay by weight, but I think they overcharge a little as they include the weight of the plate. Their promotional materials also advertise a cap at $19.99/plate but they don't actually cap it. Not a major problem though. Nice atmosphere inside, very casual, but I can't see why it's so expensive for a vegetarian restaurant with no table service where you bus your own tray.

Great options - Edit
Good first impression of the place and a lot of vegan options, but the prices goes up pretty fast and even though you might think that it’s cheaper to eat buffet by weight the price for the food got quite high (above regular buffet).

nice place, good choices - Edit
The place was pretty crowded which illustrates its popularity. The staff was very welcoming nevertheless. As we were there for the first time and looked a bit lost, someone came over immediately and explained the concept to us. The details are only posted in french, so better ask if you don't understand. Bottom line (and catch): Food is by weight, desserts are weighed separately. There is an upper limit for a main course plate that makes it comparatively cheaper to get more than ~600g (at time of writing) on your plate. The catch: The limit only applies to plates up to 1kg. If you take more you will be billed entirely by weight without limit. I still consider that fair, however - and 1kg is quite some food. My plate was full and i was well below the limit. I failed to locate any scales that would allow you to check the weight of your plate before proceeding, but I did also not spend a lot of time looking for one. The selection itself is big and it would be difficult to stack every available food on one plate. Many things are vegan and marked as such. Ingredients are also posted on the labels. There was everything from salads, pizza, pasta, seitan dishes, marinaded tofu, mini burritos, etc... There was also a large selection of desserts which I did not check out in detail. Various wines, beers and juices are also available. If you don't want to eat buffet food there also seems to be a menu to choose from.

Tasty Buffet with Plenty of Options! - Edit
Resto Vego is a fantastic vegetarian buffet restaurant (with lots of vegan and gluten-free options as well) in the heart of Montreal’s Latin Quarter (Saint Denis Street). There was so much variety in their food choices with lots of salads, hot entrees (including curries, stir fries, chili and more), desserts and more. The food was all so flavourful and delicious!
Read moreThe plates were charged by weight and it ended up being quite an expensive meal but was so worth it that I ended up returning a few times during my trip. The restaurant had indoor seating, a garden atmosphere behind the restaurant and a nice sidewalk patio on Saint Denis as well.

buffet is delicious - Edit
the buffet has a huuuuuuge (trump voice) selection. Everything's delicious but careful with how you fill your plate. The prices go up pretty fast. The ''creton'' and burrito available downstairs are delicious too. The to-go counter is convenient and more wallet-friendly. don't go by car.

We went there a couple of times, sometimes with our families, which are non-vegans. It's a good place to eat near Berry-UQAM and to enjoy a simple lunch.

Great Food with Excellent Variety - Edit
Resto Vego has a large buffet (probably 100 items, including salads, mains, side dishes and desserts) with a lot of foods from around the world, including some very unique dishes. It's probably 75% vegan, with everything well-marked. Lunch was definitely a delight here. The only negative is that it's a bit expensive (make sure you don't load up too much on the items that would otherwise be cheap!).

Lots of yummy vegan options - Edit
I lived in Montreal for over 13 years and used to go here often(it used to be Le Commensal). I like the new concept of being able to order a la carte, along with the buffet. Everything is really flavourful and the buffet is great if you're someone like me who can never decide what they want. I still always end up over-piling my plate and leave so stuffed hehe.
