Delicious food, friendly owner and staff. The restaurant is only open for lunch. A lunch menu costs 20BOB and includes soup, a salad, a main dish, a drink and a dessert. Healthy food. The food is delicious and of high quality. The restaurant has a pleasant location and is clean. When we were there, there was only one other foreign person. It are mostly Bolivians eating here and it seems to be a very popular place.

scrumptious, healthy, affordable set lunch menu - Edit
The restaurant is in a quiet courtyard upstairs. It is very bright, airy, spacious and most importantly sparkling clean! For 20 BOBs we had delicious, hot soups (choice of two, I had quinoa vegetable and my partner had cauliflower) with fresh homemade bread, a small salad plate which you choose what you want and are served from a salad bar, and a choice of two hearty mains (I had a vegetable tart with salad, my partner had a yucca - zucchini stew). Everything was fresh and so so tasty! They had different infusions and you could take as much as you like. The place was full of locals.

Cheap and good! - Edit
You have to go into the court yard and go up the stairs but it's pretty easy to find. As soon as you enter the court yard you will see the sign. For only 20Bs we got a set menu with a drink. Lots of locals.

vegan soup, salad, main and juice for 20 bol - Edit
The restaurant is located in the middle of the tourist area and might not be easy to find at first sight, but is well worth the search! You walk through a little courtyard and up the stairs to kind of a canteen with lots of windows and sunlight.
Read moreThey offer a set menu with 2 choices of main - soup, salad, bread, mate and a refresco are included in the 20 bolivianos. At the entrance you pay and get two tickets, one for soup and one for the main dish and get them yourself at the canteen.
The food was super fresh, healthy and delicious. I had a quinoa soup, maracuja juice, salad and kind of a spinach strudel with more veggies - everything is vegan!
Definately recommend that place!

Good value but a bit confusing and bland - Edit
Happy Cow said it was open till 5:00 so the first time I went in the afternoon, only to find it closed. The people next door told me it only opened for lunch, so I wrote the a note (in Spanish) asking them to update the times here, since this is the most important website for vegan places. Days later, it was still incorrect, so I updated it myself. Happy Cow processes updates promptly, so it wasn't just that theirs was pending. Today I was finally free at lunchtime, so I went back. It's a confusing set-up: you pay (20 bolivianos) when you enter and for some reason get your bread, as well as cutlery and two tickets, there. Then you go to the other end to get your salad, which doesn't have a ticket. From the same person, you can get your soup (which does have a ticket: 'sopa') at the same time or afterwards. Then you use the second ticket for your main course ('segundo'). You help yourself to a drink elsewhere: I couldn't tell if you were allowed to go more than once. There are oddly pieces of cake at the cashier's desk, with no information on display about prices, but they didn't seem to be included and by then I was too shy to ask. When I'd first gone up to the main bar I'd only uttered a couple of syllables when the assistant decided to ignore me and start ushering over the cashier to speak English to me, paying no attention to my saying that I didn't want to speak English. This made me very nervous and I started stammering, making the whole interaction and meal very awkward. It was rude to assume that any foreigner not only cannot speak Spanish but futhermore wants to speak English. There is a choice of two soups and two main courses but they only tell you verbally at the applicable stage: it would be better if they wrote them up, as is after all normal for a menú del día, so you had more chance to think: the main options might, for example, affect your soup choice. The food itself was O.K. but bland. It would be better if they had spicy sauce: there was one that she described as 'ají' but it really wasn't spicy. There should also be salt and pepper. However, despite there being no text about the actual food, the tables have long texts about its general dietary philosophy. Mine had a description of all the ailments that it said could lead to cancer and a photo of a man buckled over, clutching his stomach. I am a vegan for moral, not health, reasons, but even if I were the latter, this would be preaching to the choir and is not a nice image to eat over.

Cons: Staff treat you like a moron., Bland, Would be nice to have a dessert.

A delicious set menu of salad, soup, main, and tea. Try to arrive earlier rather than later because the food runs out quickly. Get there around noon or 1.

I can definitely recommend this place..
Read moreAfter you find the street number you go inside a patio and go upstairs to the restaurant.
The almuerzo for cheap 18Bs included salad, soup, main dish, drinks.
(You get bread in the beginning with two tickets - one for the soup, one for the main)
For the salad there was a bar with options like tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkin, sweet potato etc.
You could choose between two soups (for me that day spinach or vegetable soup)..
Afterwards I was already so full that I needed a short eating-break. (haha)
For the segundo you also had two choices (this day #1 a mix of beans and carrots etc with potatoes and broccoli and #2 filled empanadas and a mixed salad).
For the drinks you could get yourself juice or mate from a desk (I guess however often you want)
So in general: for the price a lot of food, very nice staff, I was the only foreigner between 10 Bolivians

great space and good food! - Edit
As of June 2016, lunch costs 18 bolivianos (roughly $2.50) and includes soup, a main dish, bread, juice, and mate. Everything was vegan. The space is big and open and modern - and located in one of the old beautiful buildings in La Paz that used to be family homes, with central courtyards, etc. When you enter, you first pay for the meal, then you get two tickets which you show to the people dishing out the food. We had to choose between two soups, and it seems like maybe you could get seconds, but we were pressed for time and didn't try it this time. Really nice space, very quiet and chill - will definitely go back. The restaurant is on Calle Murillo, just passing Sagarnaga and before reaching Buenos Aires, on the left-hand side.

After days of eating average, expensive veg food, this was a great find! Big salad, soup, main and drink for 15bob. Food a little under seasoned for our tastes, but healthy and big portions!

Delicious vegan food in La Paz - Edit
It was really great to find such a nice vegan restaurant in La Paz, conveniently located in the city center, close to several points of interest such as the San Francisco Church and the Witches' Market. Not only for the excellent food, for the friendly staff and for the fair price (15-17 Bs), I liked this restaurant because it is made by and for locals. I ate there three times and locals were always the majority. The place is definitely not fancy.
Read moreRegarding the food, it consists in a basket of breads as the entrance, a plate of salad of your free choice, a soup and finally a main dish. From what I noticed, the main dish is normally offered in two options, but the first time I ate there one of the options was already over. They are ok about combining the options in case you don't like one of the elements of one of them, for example - happened to me. The price also includes beverages, normally teas and refrescos.
In short, totally recommended. Great place to reencounter nature.
Pros: Delicious food, Very good price, Nice vibe

Excellent food in La Paz - Edit
[I went there on March 2015, and the prices were NOT the same as indicated: 34Bs. the set menu. The restaurant is now all vegan and the hours were as follows: Monday-Saturday 12:00-14:00]
Read moreEven if the menu may seem a bit expensive (34Bs.) it is worth the money, for this includes a salad (from the salad buffet), a soup, a main course, a drink, a mate and bread.
The day I went I had the salad (you can freely chose from many options: lettuce, onions, carrots, potatoes, etc.), the 'sopa de papalisas' (aka ollucos, a kind of root crop similar to the potato), the 'pastel de garbanzos con arroz' (chickpeas pastel with rice), an amaranth drink and an anise mate. The other option available for the main course was the 'empanada con verduras' which was really good.
The service was very friendly, allowed us to have a free refill of the drinks, to go back for more salad, and so on.
Small indications: the restaurant is situated in the 2nd floor so you have to take the stairways, and then you have to pay first at the entrance and then remit your tickets when you want to have your soup or your main course.
I only wish they had a smaller menu for a cheaper price in case you're not that hungry and you don't want to spend 34Bs.
Pros: Very, very good food, Good atmosphere, All vegan
Cons: Price (but still fair)
