Very nice

This totally vegan establishment serves tasty updates on the classics, as well as bowls, and other innovative takes on Ethiopian fare. The food is also "real" without many factory meat substitutes; so a nice, healthy menu.

On the less-than side: the injera chips were quite oily; many of the beverage options were sold out (Monday lunch)

The service was excellent and the location is excellent. 100% vegan

Modern twist on Ethiopian food

Lovely interior with tons of charm. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Not the best Ethiopian food I've ever had, but it was still good. The injera was really dry, and maybe we just didn't get the best batch.

Oddly enough, I loved everything besides the entrees.

Both kinds of sambusa are delicious. The Bole Bowl is incredible and has tons of great flavor. Mac n cheese is good, and their cheesecakes are amazing.

Pros: Vegan, Unique

Cons: Pricy

Amazing vegan Ethiopian and modern fun vibes

I loooooooovee this place! So happy to have found it via happy cow while visiting New York. Definitely try one of the platters to get the full experience. Great music, ambiance on top of that. The deserts and cocktails are top notch as well. Literally no negative feedback😄

Nice, Quick, Satisfying

Came here for lunch with a friend. We shared the mercato platter. It was a good amount of food for two people, but maybe something additional would be good for anyone with an above-average appetite.
The food was delicious. It got to the table really quickly, like five minutes. Staff were friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable of the menu.

Fantastic spot

The food and service here weee both amazing. I’d had Ethiopian food before but hadn’t dined here before and the server explained the whole menu, made recommendations, checked on how we were (but not too much) and the food and great. We tried one of the platters and the sambusas - both delicious. Would love to return one day.

Pros: All vegan, Nice venue, Great service and food

Fabulous!

The amazing ambiance hits you right as you walk in. The walls are covered by beautiful art and plants hang from the ceiling. There is a beautifully lit bar and DJ nest. The menu has so many things that seem delicious it’s hard to pick! We went with the piassa platter, the Mercato platter, the sambusas, and the mushroom tibs. All the good was epic! The drinks were delish as well. Also has orthodox kosher certification.

Pros: All vegan goodness, Great vibes, Amazing art

Delicious Ethiopian

Everything was great. We got the sambusa with veggies and lentils. For the main I had the mercato platter with injera and my friend had the Kazanchis bowl. We also had their delicious cheesecakes. Amazing. Definitely will come back.

Amazing vegan world food

It's more of a combination of several cultures (including mexican), with a heavier touch with ethiopian dishes and ingredients. And it works beautifully! I ordered a Piassa Platter (for one - more than enough) and it was absolutely delicious.

The food came very quickly and it was very well seasoned, particularly the Injera (kind of an ethiopian tortilla or bread).

I highly recommend this restaurante.

Pros: Fully vegan!!!, Great food

Cons: Noisy inside, Bit expensive if you want to order more than 1

Great food

Really yummy food. I wish they offered the shared plates with all the options in it like other Ethiopian places do.

Cons: Drinks are a bit overpriced for its size

Best vegan spot in Brooklyn

Incredible variety of all-vegan food, well spiced without too much sauce. I also love Bunna Cafe, but this is a great lunch choice. I especially recommend dishes containing their yatakilt, yater kik, and alicha shiro. But any bowl or platter is a nice variety of things.

10 stars

If I could give this place ten stars, I would. Everything was phenomenal. They have two entree sized sampling plates. I also got the coconut leche cake which was chilled to the point of feeling partially like an ice cream cake in the best possible way. The prep cook even took the time to properly destem the strawberries. The vibe is popping and the waitstaff are super friendly. Definitely worth a trip to New York to try this place.

Tasty but servings are a bit skimpy

Mercato platter is great but last time I ordered to go, the shiro (my favorite) didn’t even fill up half the tiny container. Love the mama’s tofu and mushroom tibs, too. The injera is a little bit sour for my taste.

Trendy, expensive

This is not the best Ethiopian food in New York but it might be the most expensive. Come here as a cute date night but I would not recommend making this a regular spot, it’s always slammed and the food is just okay.

Best Meal!!

Our party of 3 had an absolutely wonderful evening dining at Ras Plant Based. The quality and presentation of the food was incredible. We split the Mushroom Tibs with rice, Piassa Platter with injera, and Mercato Platter with injera. All were excellent. Service was top notch. Atmosphere had a great vibe. Enjoyed a bottle of wine along with the great eats. Definitely a hit with all of us.

Pros: Quality, presentation of food was outstanding, Fun atmosphere, Friendly and knowledgeable staff
