Perfect for my soul food craving - Edit
Highly recommend this soul food! The "soul rolls" in particular are incredible. We ordered a few "plates" and split them up among our group, so we could all try a little of everything.

We got takeout, but there was also a patio with outdoor seating I'm front of the restaurant.

GLUTEN FREE VEGAN MAC & CHEESE, BBQ DRUMSTIX & FRIED SHRIMP. Need I say more? My vegetarian cheese fiend partner didn’t miss the dairy at all and every item was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Durham.

I have been here multiple times and have enjoyed everything I have tried. Their fried chicken is delicious and the vegan Mac n cheese is some of the best I’ve ever had. Also if you miss ceasar salad you much try their vegan kale ceasar!

Staff were attentive to the line of folks; moreover, it was worth the wait. The staff offered helpful suggestions, noted which foods had nuts, and even asked about allergies. The time and attention they took with every customer was much appreciated.

Stopped in while in town for a DMB concert and this place knocked my socks off. The BBQ sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. Cheese fries were the closest I’ve had since going vegan 3.5 years ago. The Mac and cheese had the best tasting vegan cheese I’ve had as well. The cheese cake was fantastic. Even the Cole slaw was tasty. Heard most produce is locally sourced from a Black Owned farm nearby, sometimes the Kale is harvested that day!

Wow! We have been enjoying the delicious food from Pure Soul since they were vendors at the Triangle Vegfest. I am so happy that they have this beautiful storefront now. They have created a gorgeous outdoor seating area, with colorful murals, plants and a lovely, warm vibe. I think we have tried every item on the menu- and love it all, but my very favorite things are the Fried Chikn Sandwich, Po' Boy Hoagie, NC BBQ Sandwich with slaw, and the Big Kale Caesar salad. But truly, you can't go wrong. My kids love the BBQ Drumstix and Soul Mac. You can taste the love and fresh ingredients in every bite. The owners are also wonderful, kind people. A fantastic restaurant to support in every way. Go now!

Whoa! First, portions large enough to share. The food is amazing. We had the BBQ sandwich. It was flavorful with a nice tangy/sweet sauce. For sides we had the cheeze fries and the collard greens. The collard greens are a must try! We also had their egg rolls which are so much goodness wrapped into an eggroll. If I'm ever in Durham again this will be a must stop place!

Had the NC BBQ Chicken sandwich with a side of the soul mac and cheese. It was awesome and will definitely be back. The place has a great relaxed atmosphere.

So great to have another all vegan spot in Durham. We’ve been a few times, and al of the food we’ve tried is excellent- today I tried two newer menu items: cheese fries with BBQ and Nuggets. The fries were amazing and the breading on the nuggets was so crispy and flavorful. I love that I can get things here I can’t get other places, like vegan shrimp or drumsticks.

My husband and I split the fried "fish" sandwich, the "shrimp" po' boy, and the sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. Add to that a friendly staff and reasonable prices, and you can't go wrong!

Made the trip to stop by today not realizing it was the Grand Opening. What a cool experience with live music, outside seating, and lots of patrons even with it raining out. Brought home the fried “fish” sandwich, Bilbo’s Greens, and the Soul Mac. Everything was so good that I’m contemplating trying to go back again today before they close.

Everything was really well done. We quite enjoyed the fried chkn. The chkn sandwich is top notch. What they do well with this food is that it isn't overly greasy! You're eating fried chkn but you don't get a mouth full of oil. This really stood out to me! And that's what I want.

Delicious vegan southern food - Edit
Ordered the BBQ plate & chicken plate with sweet potato fries, cornbread, and mac & cheese. Easily one of the better meals I’ve had since the pandemic started. They had the food fast for delivery, and genuinely, it was just pretty dang good if you love southern food.

We were excited to learn that Pure Soul has taken over the lease of another vegan restaurant that sadly closed. Pure Soul now finally has a permanent location for us to enjoy their delicious 100% vegan/plant-based menu full of "kind comfort food"!
Read morePreviously we enjoyed their food at Vegfest and popups. One of my favorites is the fried chikn sandwich and Mac n cheese. Recently I also tried the vegan fish sandwich with slaw, kale caesar, cornbread, and award-winning soul mac, with lemonade. YUM!
