Casual Indian restaurant offering meals, snacks, and a sweets case. Has gluten-free, ask. Uses dairy - vegans to inquire. Reported closed September 2023.
Such a fun place to visit if you are in the south end of the Seattle area. Nestled in a little strip mall, this place is bright and well decorated. Plenty of vegan options of Indian food, even a few sweets. Menu clearly labeled and vegan -knowledgeable owner. Go here!
Punjab Sweets is hidden away in a small strip mall in Kent, and it’s the best Indian food in the area. The food tastes like fine art. Staff are knowledgeable about veganism, and they can recommend dishes for you. Most dishes are served with a side of pickled carrots and yogurt. Specify that you do not want the yogurt, or they will bring it. I ask for extra pickled vegetables instead of yogurt. A full meal (an entree and appetizer) for one person costs about $15. Sadly, they don’t have any vegan desserts.
Best Indian restaurant in the Kent/Renton area. The food seems to be high-quality and the staff is knowledgeable about which items contain dairy, gluten, etc (my celiac wife didn't get sick eating their corn-based roti, which says a lot). The only downside is, for take-out anyway, the portions are very small for the price. I could eat four entrees! But there is definitely no animal flesh served here, which puts it far ahead of its local competitors.
