Good and refreshing, not necessarily great - Edit
A variety of WFPB small plates are offered here. I had the “mockzarella”, seitan slices, and small salad.
Read moreIt was exactly what I needed, as I had a few days of heavy meals and needed something lighter. The vibes were good, owner was super nice, and the location makes it a perfect “break” in the middle of a long travel day. I also really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients.
There were small components of this meal that were amazing, e.g. the sauce with the seitan, but other things like the “mockzarella” itself was average (you could easily make the same thing at home with cashews and tapioca starch).

Tasty grub.. - Edit
Grub is tasty , right enough. See what am thinking right about now is that the food is very British vegan, healthy, just nice.. unlike the prices, these are steep.man, real steep. If you like soup, you're in. Now, why they ask for a tip , then, having made you feel guilty, claim it's optional, is totally beyond me. May call in again though.

Loved everything about this place. - Edit
The menu has beautiful and original salads with creative twists. The food was fresh, full of flavour and very well priced. It is a place I would happily return to as everything on the menu sounded so tasty.
Read moreThe location is fab. Very central and amazing to find a great place like this. It is close to all the big attractions but tucked away from the chaos of city centres and chain restaurants.
The owner/waiter and waitress were lovely, polite, attentive and guided us through the menu.
I plan to recommend this place to anyone going to Edinburgh. I will definitely return.

An outstanding choice in Edinburgh! Tonight, I chose the seitan and white bean stew, and it proved to be a delightful explosion of flavors. The dish was perfectly complemented by a side of carrot, hispi, and ginger salad, offering a refreshing palate cleanse. The tiramisu dessert was a highlight, achieving a perfect balance of sweetness, enhanced by the earthy undertones of flax.

Perfection, thy name is Pulse - Edit
The expression found in vegan culture, “Eat the Rainbow,” referring to the prismatic wealth of fruits and vegetables that our species too often under-appreciates, applies perfectly to Pulse—the dishes at Pulse are the healthiest rainbows one can eat! The meals here fire on EVERY cylinder: nutritionally complete, kaleidoscopically flavorful, culinarily innovative, and vegan. The head chef at Pulse needs her own channel, book series, podcast, culinary school, and so on!
Read moreI visited Edinburgh for a few days and ate at as many fully vegan restaurants as I could fit in my time (including Holy Cow, Chapter One, and Sora Lella). Those other places were fantastic, but Pulse tops them all. If you’re in Edinburgh, dine at Pulse. Make a pilgrimage to Pulse even. I only wish Pulse existed where I live, here in Portland, which is arguably the vegan-restaurant capital of the world.

Pulse is a vegan haven where flavor meets health.💚😋 - Edit
The flan and lentil salad were standout dishes, with clear, oil-conscious ingredients that didn't skimp on taste. The Thai curry was also super nutritious. Swift and savvy service in a cozy stone-walled setting near the city gardens makes Pulse a must-visit for wholesome, delicious vegan food.

Fresh plates that offer creative vegan dishes you will unlikely have elsewhere. Worth the detour! - Edit
We found Pulse after reading reviews on Happy Cow and were not disappointed. We had a lovely lunch. The cafe is quite cozy and warm on a cold rainy autumn day. The ingredients in our dishes were fresh, prepared well, and full of flavor. This is not a vegan "junk food" restaurant, rather it is thoughtfully prepared with meaningful design. I highly recommend the tofu scramble with a side salad of massaged kale and chickpeas. The tiramisu dessert is amazing as well. Stop by for a great experience!

So delicious, healthy and creative! Especially loved the spinach tart and banana bread. Lots of salads too.
Read moreMy only con is the menu is quite small. Apart from salads they don’t have much else…they have a soup of the day too. I also think the portion sizes are a bit small for the food being mainly vegetables. The staff were lovely but I almost felt a little uncomfortable?? Too much attention, felt weird.
