Lentil soup and papas arrugadas! - Edit
We went in December 2021. The restaurant is located in a small town and it has parking space right next to it. The place serves meat but offers also vegetarian/vegan dishes, clearly marked in the menu. The vegetarian ones included some cheese. Remember to mention that you want the dish to be made vegan.
Read moreWe got lentil soup and "papas arrugadas" (in English "wrinkled potatoes", boiled potatoes with the peel), and some bread. The soups were very flavory and portions were abundant. The potatoes are a typical dish from Canary Islands and were very tasty. They included a couple of dips (one which was chili-based, and the other one had some avocado). The bread also included a vegan aioli dip and hummus, both very tasty.
The waiters were polite and spoke good English. Recommendable!

Best lentil soup ever!!! - Edit
Went there after visiting the local market on Saturday. Loved the food as well as the atmosphere. They had several vegan choices and the waiters also knew exactly what could be made vegan and what not. We had some bread with dips, canary potatoes, lentil soup and some Asian wok noodles. All were extremely delicious! We especially loved the lentil soup and also the dips that came with the bread: all vegan and one of them was a vegan wasabi mayonnaise

Vegan options, no dessert - Edit
Not everything is vegan, but if you want to eat some traditional Canarian food, you can have a taste here.
Read moreMenu clearly states what is vegetarian/vegan, but make sure to tell the waiters.
No desserts are vegan, unfortunately, but you will probably have no room left after a starter and a main course
Pros: 3 vegan main courses, Hummus, alioli, mojos and papas for starter, Staff is super nice
Cons: No desserts :(

Some nice vegan options - Edit
Some delicious vegan options: we had papas arrugadas con mojo, alioli (with soy milk), beetroot hummus and a main dish: lentil stew. It came with goat cheese on the side which we didn’t eat. No vegan desserts on the day’s menu.

Amazing vegan lentils - Edit
We had papas arrugadas & vegan lentils (they may serve it with goat cheese -if you want it completely vegan, ask the waiter/ waitress beforehand). Those lentils has been one of the best meals I had while visiting the island. They have few veggie options, but a whole special section in the menu is available to eat cruelty free.
Read morePros: A special section in the menu just for veggies
Cons: Mostly vegetarian options, not vegan, No vegan dessert available

Very nice place and delicious food - Edit
This small place was a real surprise: it’s pretty off the beaten track and offers great vegan options. We ordered the tofu balls on basmati rice, which were delicious. As a dessert, I tried a double-layered chocolate cake with mango-ginger sorbet which was so decadent and moreish. Highly recommended.

Hidden gem - Edit
A bit out of the way, we wouldn't have found if Happy Cow hadn't listed it. The place is cute, especially the outdoor seating area. We ordered a salad and papas arrugadas as well as all four items from the vegetarian section. Food was delicious and different, and very prettily plated. We also had 3 desserts that were outstanding. Staff was very nice and friendly. We loved it and will definitely return next time we get a chance.

Oasis in the North of Lanzarote - Edit
Puerta Verde is an unexpected surprise. It's a restaurant in a tiny village in the North of the island, basically the last place where you expect to find many vegan choices in the menu! But there are, and they are excellent. I had the papas con mojo (typical of Lanzarote), the quinoa salad, a tofu mussaka, and we were welcomed with some good hummus. Great and unexpected!
