Overall a positive experience - Edit
Everything vegan and the ambience is very pro-vegan which is a plus. Lots of animal welfare campaigns advertised which is good. Fair choice on the menu. Service quite slow but would visit again.
Read morePros: Completely vegan, Cosy atmosphere
Cons: Quite far out of town, Service slow do not go here if you are in a hurry

Delicious food - Edit
There is a lot of choices and I love the atmosphere here. My mum loves this place as well and she is omni.
Read moreI ordered the doner fries (it was a toss up between the doner and the doner fries). So good and spicy, how i like it. I ran out of sauce and the chef gave me a heap more for the rest of my fries which was awesome.
I like that they have an open kitchen and a friendly, laid back attitude.
Pros: Fully vegan , All home cooked , Good atmosphere

All vegan pub with great food - Edit
Can't rate 5* because at time of writing TGF is wrongly labeled as veg-options only.
Read moreWhen we visited in 06/2022 the premises were fully vegan and had just had a kitchen takeover by The Prickly Pear, a (very) local vegan restaurant.
We got an all-day breakfast, burrito, nachos, seitan wings and a cake.
All the food was delicious, especially the crispy wings, the guac is pea based and tastes great. All the plates were warm which I appreciated.
The cake was ok, it was a wholesale cake, but they said they intended to get the home made cakes within the week (they had literally began selling food that day so this is believable).
We got a flat white and hot chocolate, both very tasty, it was a real flat white, not an expensive latte like I usually get given when I order it in other places. They also sell craft beers and real ales.
We were served by Ellie, she rocked, enthusiastic about the food and drink and makes a good coffee.
Little bit of a wait, but probably just getting going on their first day.
Edit: now it's labelled as vegan this edit is to update it to 5* and add some photos of the sunday lunch we had the next day. Again excellent service from the bar and a magnificent nut roast!

Nice burger - Edit
We had a drive to Nottingham to check out this place. We had about a 40 minute wait for food. I really enjoyed my burger but my partner didn’t. The burger bun wasn’t great and fell apart so was a little hard to eat, resorted to using a knife and fork. Not the end of the world! The fries were a little hard but the sauce on them was mega.

Opening times not as advertised - Edit
Went there for breakfast on Saturday morning at 10:30, walked for half hour to get there and it wasn’t open. All sources including their own website say it’s open at 10, no posts online to indicate otherwise. Messaged them on Facebook and they didn’t respond.

Long wait times, but _great_ food - Edit
When I arrived, the place was full of people, but none of them had food. I should have taken this as a warning!
Read moreI asked for Death By Doner, and waited 45 minutes for it to arrive. But when it did arrive, it was _awesome_. I needed to get back to work, so the staff kindly boxed-up half of it. The food was just as good cold mid-afternoon, and I got some jealous glances from colleagues.
I'd definitely go back, but just need to find the right day!
Pros: Delicious food, Handsome staff
Cons: Wait time

Fantastic but long wait times & taste varies depending on chef. - Edit
One of the best vegan places to eat in Nottingham. Portion sizes can be small and with everything being made fresh the wait time can be long. I’ve waited almost 2 hours on Deliveroo before - called the restaurant and they advised they had to make some items from stretch.
Read moreThe vegan Mac and cheese used to be amaizng but varies depending on who makes it. So the last few times it’s been way too salty to the point where it’s inedible.
Pros: Great vegan options, Super friendly staff
Cons: Taste varies between chefs, Long wait times

Outstanding Brunch - Edit
We've had dinner take away from here before but needed to be in Nottingham earlier, so popped in for brunch. We should have done this before! We loved the burgers etc but the brunch is next level. This is the standard vegan breakfasts should be trying to live upto!

The Most Delicious Brunch - Edit
We visited for a brunch at Prickly pear and it was so lovely. The staff are really friendly and as it’s a small place it’s very welcoming and lovely to see them cooking the food. I had the tofu scramble and it was super delicious. I don’t like avocado but I really liked the guacamole on the tofu scramble!

Totally the place to go - Edit
This was recommended to us so we went on a trip to Nottingham and we wish we lived closer. The place is lovely with lots to look at whole you're there, art, stickers, plants... The menu is large with lots of different foods. I ordered the Aztec which is probably the least fast food-ey thing on the menu and it was delicious. We ordered some fries to share and a portion of mini mac. My partner has the tacos and he loved them. We also had some Christmassy After Eight hot chocolates. I have a feeling we'll find an excuse to go back to Nottingham because there are so many things we didn't get to try. Staff are lovely too so if you're in the area, make sure you pop in!

Eat here now! - Edit
Simply wonderful food. Our server was friendly, polite and joyful. We were lucky enough to get to chat to the chef....and boy, does that grrrrl know her stuff. Came away with a full tummy and more knowledge on cooking sustainably. Finally, it's great to be in a place that isn't jumping on the vegan bandwagon or using veganism as a fashion prop. These people know their stuff and walk the walk

Hidden gem in Nottingham - Edit
I tried this vegan cafe on my recent visit to Nottingham. It’s just a stone’s thrown from the city centre. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I went for the classic tacos and they were filling enough. I had a piece of Biscoff cake later. Everything was fairly priced and the food was fresh.
Read moreI asked whether it was okay for me to stay working on my laptop and they didn’t have any problem. I was hot-spotting from my phone, so I’m not sure they have Wifi. There are sockets next to the tables in case you need to charge your phone or laptop.
The toilets were clean but they were downstairs and there are no lifts, have this in mind if you have reduced mobility.
Pros: Varied menu with healthy options too, Friendly and helpful staff, There are sockets on the wall
Cons: Toilets are downstairs, Slight smell of dump coming from the cellar, They don’t take American Express

A little confusing - Edit
We arrived at 11.30 and only saw the breakfast menus on the table which stated they were only served until 11am.
Read moreWe asked for the lunch menu and after a while the 3 of us decided what we wanted. When we went to order we were suddenly told that they were only serving breakfast until 12pm.
We ordered drinks while we took another look at the breakfast menu, feeling uninspired and having already decided on the lunch menu the staff were happy for us to order from the lunch menu (considering by this time it was 11.50am anyway).
Our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, after someone came to check the order of mochas (we ordered matcha lattes) so not sure what happened.
The food was lovely, but our son who eats just about anything vegan turned his nose up at the tacos as for a children's option it had far too much red pepper and most other things children are picky about.
Not sure we will be in a rush to return unfortunately
Pros: Everything is vegan
Cons: Confused timings for breakfast and lunch menus., Not sure the children's menu is that child friendl
