DC’s Unique 🔥 Asian Fusion - Edit
One of DC’s top fast casual eateries. Now, the Disco Stick is an absolute must try; if you’re vegan in DC (or anybody really) and you haven’t had this, you’re missing one of the District’s most unique and fun dishes: a burrito sized egg roll! A bucket list item for every person collecting DC’s best hits. I also love the plant based chicken bowls like the Ktown BBQ and the Sesame Chick’n. Sweet, tangy, and filling. There is influence from the different owners’ ethnicities of Asian and Italian cuisine. For instance, the Taiwanese mozzarella balls are an Asian/Italian combo. The cheese comes from Vertage, created by one of the owners of Pow Pow. It is a woman owned business out of DC that is totally redefining vegan cheeses with cheddars, pepper jacks, and cream cheese spreads that are super delicious.

Some really phenomenal items - Edit
I ate here yesterday and was debating whether to come back when they sent me a $5 off coupon. So I decided to try some more items from the menu. Here are my thoughts and suggestions:
Read moreChimi Chimi Pow Pow Egg Roll - 10/10. I ordered this both times I went, and I NEVER order the same thing twice. If you get nothing else, just get this.
Trolly Fries - 9/10. I would actually give this a 10/10 except the ratio of sauce to fries was a little off in my opinion. I ran out of sauce about halfway through the fries (which was a good way to keep me from eating too many fries😉).
Taiwanese Fried Cashew Mozzarella - 9/10. These were really incredible (although again I would have liked a bit more sauce) but they are rather big and hard to eat. The provided silverware is pretty flimsy plastic material and doesn't cut through them very easily.
Purity Bowl - 8/10. I was a little skeptical of this dish because it looked and sounded pretty boring to me (the cashier recommended it). Surprisingly, it was really good. All of the components were very flavorful and balanced.
Dan Dan Carbonara - 7/10. I was so sure I would like this more than the purity bowl, but I didn't. The flavor was too mild for me and I found the ground pork to be an odd addition. I also thought the veggies should have been sauteed longer and the green onions cut up more. It was still good overall, but tasted like something I would make myself at home rather than something I pay a restaurant to do because I can't figure out how to do it.
One thing to note: if you look at the menu on their website, it is just the lunch menu. The dinner menu has some overlap but also some differences (including prices). Sometimes I like to decide ahead of time what I want, and it threw me off at first when I walked in and the menu was not the same as what I had just looked at online.
My main complaints are more about money than food. I had decided to order the dan dan noodles which are listed as $15 online but in reality were $18. It's not that I think $18 is overpriced for DC (I paid more for other dinner entrees here) but I'm pretty sure the dinner portion is exactly the same as the lunch portion so it just annoyed me to have to pay $3 extra just due to the time of day. Additionally, because the line was long and I was hungry from walking 12 miles, I forgot to use my $5 coupon and they wouldn't let me use it after the fact, which (although understandable) was slightly annoying.
Pros: Some of the best food items I've had in DC, Fast even when they are busy, Reasonably priced
Cons: Some of the food is good but not great, Some of the same items cost more at dinner, Even "dine in" orders have some disposable waste

Favorite place in DC - Edit
I'm in town for a conference and this was by far the most delicious food I've tried over these few days!
Read moreI had the spicy egg roll and the katsu bowl and both were great. The bowl was a blend of rice, grains, salad, veggies, and the katsu tempeh. Sauces were on point. Portions are big enough for plenty of leftovers. The egg roll was absolutely massive - you won't regret paying $10 when you see it 😂

Wasn’t impressed - Edit
I ordered the Thai pumpkin soup, Taiwanese fried cashew mozzarella croquettes, sichuan dumplings. Out of the 3, I enjoyed the croquettes the most. I wasn’t impressed with the flavors on the dumplings and soup. I’m sure there are other things that are tastier based off reviews.

Amazing! - Edit
Some of the best vegan bowls I’ve ever had! We tried six different items from the menu and loved them all. The flavor in the dishes is really incredible. I love the balance of rice/grain, salad, and the “meat” topping. It really is the type of food that fills you up and leaves you feeling good. Would definitely recommend coming here!

This was a great find when we were looking for vegan food after a long day of walking and touring. Delicious, fresh, healthy food, and good-sized portions. We liked it so much we went back the next day. Recommend General's Chick'n, dumplings, pink salt chocolate mini raaka.

Stopped here for lunch. You order on the kiosk and every item is 100% plant based. Pretty cool low key vibe. If you like Asian food put this one on your list.

Lots of options, but the food was cold and I was expecting to be blown away. I would probably eat there again but I would lower my expectations.
