Expensive, basic and nothing special

When me and my partner saw there was a fully vegan takeaway in stoke we were over the moon, this is what our city has been lacking! We ordered a works burger each, a katsu loaded fries to share and an Oreo milkshake each. This stung my bank balance coming in at around £40, but it is what it is for good plant based food I don’t mind paying. When I searched the address I realised it was within an establishment in Newcastle that I have previously visited and didn’t have the best experience, but again I let this slide hoping for the best. I went to pick it up and if you didn’t know it was within a sandwich shop you’d have missed it, there was no signage at all. Despite having a time they were running slightly late so I had to wait. I got the food home and immediately notice the milkshake was so watery. If I am paying £5 for a milkshake that describes it to have ice cream in it I expect it to be thick not just pure milk. My partner was surprised that the works burger which was described as having “patties” on it which to us means plural only had one patty on it. Bare in mind this burger is nearly £13 and there’s not much difference between this one and the burgers that are £2 cheaper. Despite the Misinformation it did taste nice but that didn’t really salvage the whole experience. The worst part was the loaded fries. There is nothing loaded about them putting a slither of katsu Mayo over the top of fries and slicing up a piece of vegan chicken and plopping it on top does not constitute loaded fries. The portion was small and underwhelming. After we’d both finished eating we were still hungry! You don’t expect to pay £40 to be left hungry. This place has so much potential and I wanted to like it so badly but I just didn’t. With some fine tuning it could be something great but it just feels like a none vegan establishment profiting off the gap in the market.

What?

We had to have a look here since it's a vegan joint, but having looked at it from the outside..... there's no mention of anything vegan, no signs....we decided to not got in to investigate because it felt weird. Place looked kinda small?

It just seems to be a place that is serving non vegan food for sitting in and taking out, but vegan food only is for delivery? Seems dodge.
