Amazing pizza - Edit
This is probably a must-try for many. The queue is very long but if you choose takeaway you can sit at the place just across the street provided you buy drinks there. You can even just go there and the staff will place your pizza order at Michele's and bring it to you.
Read moreWe tried both options on offer - margherita and marinara. Especially the marinara was amazing, very garlicky and the tomato base super tasty.
Pros: Great original Naples pizza, Only 5€ per pizza
Cons: Long wait, Not many seats

To me it was worth the hype! - Edit
I had pizza at other places in Naples, but yeah Da Michele is the best! Inexpensive and good! I didn't eat there. I waited outside for around 20 minutes with everyone else, and just had my pizza to go. The seating is communal but it was stuffy in there and I just wanted to gobble up my pizza with air conditioning on. Only con is I think the worker there ripped me off because I should have had more change.

Crowded and Cheap - Edit
Not so comfy place to have a pizza. Rated as one of the best pizzas in Italy, we can definetly say we had better ones in places at the amalfi coast. Although its cheap and super fast. Has only Four different Pizza choices.

We love this place ☺️ both feel it deserves it’s reputation and have visited on multiple trips to Naples. Worth the wait.

Good value pizza - Edit
This place has been around since 1872, so they must be doing something right! There are only two options - marinara (vegan option) which is the tomato base or margarita tomato and cheese option.
Read moreThe pizza base was great and so was the tomato sauce on the marinara. The servings are huge.
We went at 7.30pm on a Wednesday in December, while the place was busy we didn’t need to queue and was served quickly.
It’s also the cafe where Julia Roberts at pizza in EatPray Love.

Amazing pizza - Edit
We went at around 16:00 on a Saturday for takeout. We waited about 45 mins for our pizza. The marinara pizza comes with a couple of garlic slices. The sauce and crust are amazing! We’ve had several marinara pizzas in Italy and the sauce makes all the difference, this one was top notch.

Look, it was a very nice pizza, but I've had great pizza all over Venice and Florence that didn't take 40 minutes standing in line for take away.

One of the Best - Edit
I was determined to go to this pizza place as it was the one Liz at at in Eat Pray Love. I went expecting that I would have to communicate that I did not want cheese on my pizza, until I realized they only do two pizzas (both vegetarian), and one of them is Pizza Marinara which did not need any modifications. I ate a lot of Pizza in Naples and this was easily my favourite. The sauce and the crust were INCREDIBLE and it was well worth the 1 hr wait to get inside.

fantastic pizza, but not worth the hype - Edit
it truly is one of the best pizzas we‘ve ever eaten, but there‘s many other places that make ones that are just as delicious. if you‘re really determined to go there for the sake of seeing a historical landmark, do it. it was quite confusing though, we got there and had to draw a number to wait outside for seating, just to figure out you could queue for take away inside of the restaurant (which is only offered from 16:30 for some reason?). once we got in line to wait for that we saw that there were more tables than the staff managed to serve, leaving many of them unoccupied while the crowd outside was waiting. you‘ll find plenty of places in and around Naples with quicker service, nicer seating and just as good of a pizza.

Cons: super crowded , it‘s just pizza.

Heerlijke (vegan) pizza - Edit
Heerlijke pizza's!

100% worth the wait my dudes - Edit
i waited upwards of 3 hours for this scrumptious bad boy, and let me tell you, it was completely worth it. of course you may be thinking “well hows it that good when its only a tomato sauce pizza??” and to that all i can say is youre wrong. just go try it. do it. please. you wont even be thinking about the wait when youre digging into the pizza some can only dream about. check your privilege. do it for them. thank you.

probably the best pizza you'll ever eat - Edit
this pizza is truly mind-blowing. everything about it is perfect, but the number one thing is the tomato sauce. i never saw tomato sauce as a crucial element of pizza, but here it really works this way.
Read moreas perfect as this pizza is, Da Michele is not a place for a long, calm dinner. there's not much room at the tables and everyone is in a rush (very Italian!). also if you come here during the day you'll wait in line for quite some time. i recommend coming 10 minutes before the restaurant opens.
Pros: pizza, pizza, pizza
Cons: you have to wait in line (but it's worth it!)

This pizza will change your life - Edit
No jokes here but if you are a pizza lover then you need to experience the food here.
Read moreIt's simple - two options (marinara or margerita). You'd think with how we have westernised pizza that would be boring but it's the best.
I mean these guys have been making pizza for 100 years. They know what they're doing. Maybe endless toppings is a mask for the real stuff being bad.
I've heard the tomatoes in Napoli are especially delicious because of the volcanic soil from Vesuvius eruptions. Could be a load of rubbish but their sauce stands for itself.
The place is constantly with large queues outside. If you want to sit in, prepare to wait. But if not, take away is fast and for only 5 euro I'm happy to sit outside in the Italian sun and munch on my pizza.
Pros: Authentic pizza , Cheap
Cons: Long wait to sit in

Best pizza I’ve had - Edit
As a pizza lover it pains me that this place is so amazing as I’ll never get it again when I return home and will have to settle for mediocre pizza for the majority of my life. They serve two types, marinara (base & sauce) and margarita (base, sauce, cheese and basil), that’s it, two types, but this isn’t a bad thing, it keeps it authentic and it’s truly delicious so you won’t mind. It’ll actually make you think about pizza back home having too much because it is missing a great sauce and outstanding base.
Read moreYou’ll always see a queue outside which is a good sign, but don’t be put off as this is for people waiting to sit in, they have loads of seats but will be a wait. If you want take away which I recommend, just walk in and tell the cashier take away and your order and wait. Both times I went in was usually a ten minute wait which isn’t bad, if you don’t want to go back to hotel there are some seats around and some of the cafes I noticed allow you to sit at them if you buy drinks.
Don’t miss out on this place!
Pros: Pizza perfection, Cheap only €5
Cons: Waiting time for sit in

7,50 for a huge Pizza and 1L of water! - Edit
Great place, really cheap, old rustically decorated not cozy but charming in a way. I recommend going there early otherwise I’m not sure if waiting for 60 minutes is really worth it, we went at 7 and waited for 20 minutes but you can take out the pizza (take away) and go to the bar opposite da michele, if you buy a drink there you can enjoy the pizza outside on theor tables!!

I didn't know but apparently Julia Roberts comes to eat there in "Eat, Pray, Love". So the place is quite busy with a mix of tourists and locals. Com early and wait with a number outside for free seats.

Good pizza - Edit
The marinara (there is no other vegan option) is very good and cheap (5€ for maxi size which was good for an average, not extremely hungry male). The atmosphere on the other hand is very, well, authentic and everything goes really fast, feels like main station. Dunno if I saw even one smile in the waiter‘s faces. Still a yummy experience :)
