Good food

Nice place, a bit noisy as people seemed to be shouting at each other. The menu changes every week. Difficult to choose as everything was very tempting, you can find fast food and real food. they portions are not too big, though. Dangerous cakes. On my second time there I ordered the Vegan pot and it was not as good, it was a different dish and had nothing to do with the lovely dish I remembered.

Best Peacefood!

I love both locations, but this is definitely my favorite. The spacious, airy atmosphere, the beautiful art. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. And of course the food is delicious. You can also grab and go for pastries and smoothies. Go here!

Death row meal

I ate at this restaurant after running the NYC marathon and I was blown away. The pot pie hit the spot, and I have been craving it ever since. That was almost two years ago. I will be back. YUM

Pros: Amazing menu , Causal

Not a great experience

After reading the positive reviews we gave it a try. Ordered two mains (a salad and roast veg trio) with a side of chickpea fries. Chickpea fries were great but arrived about 30 minutes before everything else. Our server didn’t come back so flagged someone down to inquire about the rest of the order. Mains arrived and the veg trio was cold and not great at all - brown rice, slab of pumpkin, brussels and Chinese egglant, no dressing. The salad was ok but honestly you can do much better for less $ going to sweet green round the corner.

Amazing

I’ve been going to PeaceFood for years now and it never disappoints. The menu is large, but not overwhelming, so everyone can find something they like. I’ve taken so many non-veg friends here and it’s become one of their favorite spots, as well. Favorites include: chickpea fries, raw lasagna, cheeseburger, chicken parm, and the tiramisu is mind blowing.

Pros: All vegan, Options for everyone

Cons: None

Trying something new

So this restaurant is a little ways away from one of the job work sites that I work from. I got a Brazilian Chai that was super spicy I am trying to drink it now but it's a bit difficult. The pumpkin sandwich was delicious with the side of jicama and carrot salad. I also got a strawberry cheesecake but i didn't like it really. The restaurant was nice inside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Pros: Lots of choices to choose from, Dining experience, Friendly staff

Cons: Over spiced(cinnamon) brazilian chai latte, Prices could be a bit better, Description of dishes could be more precise

Lekker eten, beetje luidruchtig

Het eten is heerlijk. Wel is het er erg druk en luidruchtig. Pizza was goed. Alleen de cheesecake is al de moeite waard om snel weer terug te komen.

Delicious

I went to peace food to celebrate day one of my vegan journey. Got some takeout. The staff were super friendly and my order came quickly. I got the Cesar salad and focaccia mushroom salad. The portion sizes were good and both the sandwich and salad was yum. The focaccia bread was the best I ever tasted. Definitely a recommendation!!!

delicious

The downtown version of the UWS classic is more upscale appearing on the inside. The wait staff were great and accommodating as ever. And the food was quick and great! Good work!

Pros: delicious, healthy, polite accommodating staff

Most amazing tasty vegan food!

My husband and I have eaten here now 4 times and love it. PFC chicken is great, pot pie and the cheeseburger are also our faves. So tasty! Only negative is how busy they always are! But we love it and will be back for more :)

Pros: Tasty, Great range of food

Best vegan food ever!!!

Great atmosphere! Really friendly staff. Food is fresh and delicious! The "cheeseburger" may be the best burger I've ever had!! The vegetables were amazing, with delicious condiments like cashew parmesan sprinkle. The cheesecake was insane!!!

Pros: All vegan! Great quality!

Really liked it

A bit fancy (just a bit), and that's not really my thing usually, but it's a really nice place, good atmosphere, reasonable prices.

the service was great and the food too. We had an Asian green salad, a bowl of chilli beans, soy nuggets and a cheese cake from cashew and coconut or something like that. All were really great (though personally I prefer seitan nuggets because of the texture).

All and all - great place, would come back.

Pros: Great food, tasty food, reasonable prices, great service

Food is Fabulous!

The food here is amazing. I used to love their sweets and croissants, but they stopped making a lot of the ones I liked, and the ones they have just don't compare to how great they were when they initially opened these restaurants. And it is a bit expensive. I would eat there more often if it were more affordable. The food is pretty fabulous, though.

Fabulous food and sweet treats

I wish I could have fit in more food, it was so yummy! It was packed when we got there and was told the wait would be about 30min, it was worth the wait. The restaurant has a nice lay out and the staff were friendly. It is the first time I have found a vegan tiramisu in a restaurant so I had to try it, very yummy.

Pros: very tasty food, great range of sweet treats/cakes

Cons: can't think of one

You will drool over the desert shelf as soon as you walk through the door!

I have visited peacefood cafe on several occasions and always been delighted. With a wide array of menu items there is always something new to try. My go to favorites are the chickpea fries, these are a must have, and they come with an indian spiced dipping sauce.
The brunch is amazing! Anything from the classic granola bowl, to their pastries (they have savory biscuit's and sweet breads that are to die for!), to their chick'n and waffles, and their quiche -- you cannot go wrong! Highly recommend for transitioning vegans and family/friends who are non-vegan as well! A cute cafe atmosphere and friendly staff!

Pros: Delicious food , Variety of menu options , Good portions

Cons: Pricey

Healthy Vegan in Union Square

Great food! This is my go to place when I want to get my friends to try good vegan food and they are not. Pastries are delicious, love the chickpea fries. No liquor. Good location.

One of my all time favorites

Overall, this experience at peacefood exceeded my customer service expectation. Despite my excellent prior visits to peacefood, I had only ever paid attention to the food. I do not eat out often, because it is very expensive for what I usually order—veggies and rice are dirt cheap to cook at home— but it is nice to have someone else cook once in a while. That being said, if I were to change anything about peacefood I would make the portion sizes a tad larger so that I could stretch them out for two meals, or make the entree prices a little cheaper. Another suggestion is, although quite possibly irrelevant, that the lighting was not suitable for photo taking. It was much too dark to take a good photo of the food, and using the flash would have been obnoxious. Dim lights does not hurt their customer service, but it does hurt their instagram-ability. Like I said, not detrimental to their service but it would be great in their social media marketing efforts. But the food is impeccable, the service is great, and I am absolutely going to eat here again!

Pros: service , food

Cons: dim lighting , expensive

Fantastic menu

Food for everyone, very difficult to make a decision, luckily I was given guidance by two different waiting staff. I went for the Grilled mushrooms. Large portion, good value but not cheap tasty as and well thought through dish.

Pros: Amazing food, and variety

Cons: Not many cheap options, single dining at the bar

Too many choices!

Pfc definitely offers too many options, I've always struggled with choosing what to eat (which means I will have to go there again so many times!).
The place itself looks nice, though I found it unbearably loud while sitting in the middle of the room and only slightly better when sitting next to a wall on my next visit. This is something they definitely need to work on. It feels like a bar or a fast-food joint, not a nice restaurant.
On the other hand, all of their food as nothing but impressed me. Let me list what I had the pleasure of enjoying:
* Pfc seitan foccacia: loved everything about it: the bread, the "cheese", the seitan, pesto,... It was just about twice as much as I could eat. Though no big deal, as they will happily wrap up the rest to go. This was a great meal the day after as well.
* Cheeseburger on foccacia: my boyfriend had it, I tried a bit, it was very tasty. Great patty too - he said if nobody had told him it's vegan, he wouldn't have taken it for meat. The foccacia is a nice twist on the usual burger buns, and the onion rings add some great texture.
* Macho nachos: are advertised as an appetizer, but I just made them my entree :) I was quite impressed, they appear to fry their own tortilla chips. Great toppings; maybe there could have been more guacamole, but I love that stuff, so I might not be the average customer.
* Fresh gingerade: if you love ginger (like me), you'll love this.
* Strawberry cheesecake: a true New York cheesecake. Vegan. Tasty. And a huuuuuge slice.
* Mini brownies: some of the best brownies I've had.
* Macaroon: alright, nothing I'd order again.

Price-wise, it's not cheap, but I can't complain.

Pros: extremely tasty food, huge selection, great desserts that you can look at before choosin

Cons: noisy atmosphere

my favorite place in New York

It was so nice to step into a peaceful spacious gorgeous restaurant after walking through the craziness of Times Square on St. Patrick's Day.

This was my favorite meal in New York so far. I had the pan seared unchicken filet with fava beans for 15.50. It was served with a generous serving of perfectly cooked kale and it was outstanding.

My son loved his Pfc unchicken basket and my husband his macho nachos.

For dessert we shared the peanut butter cheesecake which was out of this world.

The service was fast and oh so friendly. I just loved this place!

Pros: spacious gorgeous atmosphere, fast friendly service, delicious food.

Tasty food, friendly staff, 5 star service

I highly recommend you try the food here / eat here as not only the food is phenomenal, but the cafe is all in all. So if you're ever in the Big Apple or looking for a bite, or if you live in NYC, then I definitely recommend you check this place out. They have an entire vegan bakery (AMAZING foods--I tried their chocolate chip cookies and brownie--some of the most delicious food I've tasted in my life.) One of the best vegan restaurants in NYC for sure, maybe even in the world. I had a conversation with one of the waitresses about how she turned vegan years ago and why she moved to NYC. The staff here are very kind and check up on you often to see if you want anything else. I've had the nuggets here, fries (chickpea I think) with their special chipotle sauce which was out of this world. My tastebuds were satisfied, no doubt about that. I've also tried the vegan pizza here with daiya cheese which was phenomenal. The atmosphere is also very cozy, with just enough space for a large crowd--but not too 'space-y' /too much space. Overall, amazing food, friendly staff, relaxed vibes, casual atmosphere... definitely take a bite here.

Pros: Tasty food , Lovely staff, Casual atmosphere

Cons: None
