WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - Edit
Unfortunately happy cow don't allow me to give one star here but reading my story you'll see they deserve less then one star.
Read moreThey label a lot of thing as vegan but they are not. For example I wanted to order a smoothie bowl. The smoothie comes with granola and chocolate chunkies, it was labeled as vegan! When I asked staff if there was honey in the granola he confirmed it had. Then I asked if the chocolate chunkies were vegan friendly he said no. So then I asked him, how come you label it as vegan friendly? My vegan friend order it and ate a spoon of it without knowing, she got petrified!
Are you ready for the next most disappointing thing? I'm disgusted!
After 12 minutes trying to get something I chose the tofu scramble, the dish comes with a toast and I wanted mine with gluten-free sourdough so I double checked if vegan friendly. Waleed the man who was taking my order said yes. I ordered it and I also ordered a chai latte with almond mylk. I also tried to order some energy balls and little bars they had in their fridge but EVERYTHING had honey on it, then I again, look at Waleed and asked him, is there vegan dessert? He pointed me what was vegan with no honey and I just answered no, thank you.
I went back to my table which was right in front of the kicthen and the cashier, my dish comes out of the kicthen, I look at it, the bread looks very pretty, salad looks a bit boring and the portion of tofu scramble looks quite small but whatever. I have a sip of my chai latte, keep talking, then I have a bite of my bread which tastes very good (definitely not sourdough taste), then I had a bite of what is supposed to be tofu scramble. My heart starts racing immediately. I've been vegan for 5 years, haven't had animal products since then, but I know what I just had cant be tofu. I ask my colleague to look at my because that doesn't look like tofu to me. He call the staff and guess what they serve me? SCRAMBLED EGG.
So it took probably me 12 minutes to decided what to order explaining this human been called Walled because my diet restrictions, I just couldn't stop asking him how disrespectful he could be with me and where was his head when I was talking to him.
Botton line if you're vegan, dont go to this place. I tried to talk with manager, it was off. The receptionist told because they have a lot of vegetarian customers things like that happens quite often. I was just shocked. I never had animal food based since going vegan and that has been lots of years.
Cons: Label things as vegan when its not, Think honey is vegan, Disrespectful with costumer and their diet choices

Hi Elen
Read moreWe've never met but I know of you from Dahab.
It's taken me, as one of the owners of Osana, so long to reply to you as I have been so appalled by your review and your attitude and have been trying to think how best to respond.
It seems that from the get go you were out to get us which as a restaurant owner yourself I find very worrying.
There are a number of factual inaccuracies in your post which I will address.
In the smoothie bowl chocolate chips are an option... this is clearly stated on the menu.
If you want it vegan then you have it without the chocolate chips, it's written there in black and white.
The 'honey' that you refer to is actually what in Egypt is called Black Honey, Asl Abiad, which is actually Molasses, completely Vegan, the by-product of sugar production.
We do not label anything as vegan that is not I can assure you.
If it has honey in it then it is not labelled as vegan.
What happened at the counter is that you were standing there Uhming and Ahhing while a sizeable line built up behind you and you aggressively and demandingly spoke to Waleed, 'this human being' as you disparagingly refer to him as.
He asked you if you could please wait whilst he served other customers who had no been waiting for some time which you refused so whilst he is trying to keep you and other customers happy when you finally made up your mind he mis-heard your order.
Of course you should not have been served eggs, that is completely wrong, but your attitude and entitlement at the counter unfortunately contributed to this.
You have posted this same review in every public forum that you can find.
I sincerely hope that when you make an error in your own restaurant, as will happen, that the unlucky customer doesn't respond in the way that you have.
Have a nice day
Steve
