Vegan restaurant est. 2018 by the owners of Ao26. Focus is on unprocessed vegan food, and makes most items in-house. Sample dishes such as waffles, dumplings, bruschetta with different toppings, and pasta. Offers a daily selection of cakes. Weekend brunch available 11-3. A private dining and events space is available for up to 35 people. Previously called O Botanista. Reported closed March 2024.

I came to this restaurant to have breakfast, which was not possible because it only opens at 12 pm. I decided to wait and it was worth it. This restaurant is really cosy and well decorated. The food is fresh, tasty and high quality. And, of course, 100% vegan. The lemonade was a bit tasteless. Apart from that I recommend the mushroom bruschetta, fresh black pasta with mushrooms and truffled asparagus, tempeh and mushroom burguer in hashbrown and the roasted peaches (that were pears actually because they only use fresh fruit), crumble and homemade ice cream skillet.

I went to this place with my girlfriend and we ordered lemonade, sangria and the mushroom bruschetta as starters. The lemonade was a bit sour but the rest was very tasty. Then we ordered the black pasta and the mushroom burguer and they were both delicious. To finish our meal we asked for the chocolate mousse and the crumble which were a perfect way to end our visit here.

I don’t even know where to begin. Everything we ate here from the soup of the day (white bean and fennel), to the gyozas, the black pasta, and the chocolate mousse and pear crumble were absolutely delicious. I could have ordered two more of everything because I didn’t want the meal to end. Each bite is pure mouth pleasure.

I had a cauliflower soup and a tempeh burger. They were both simple but good. The personnel is kind and the music soft. It’s more for a place for a quick lunch then a proper restaurant.

I ordered a nice to mint you smoothie and I have to say it was one of the best smoothies I’d ever had. Perfect! I also had some black pasta with mushrooms and asparagus. This was tasty and I wish there was more. I then ordered the caramello no 5. This dessert was tasty and the cream was delicious. The service was nice too. I wish we were here longer so I could try more items.

I had a bawl with sweetpotatoes, black beans and other veggies which was very nutricious. I enjoyed a lot the mouche au chocolat and I also got the bread platter with almond butter but this one had too much bread for a very small amount of butter.

Comer no Botanista é uma experiência. O espaço é calmo, decorado com muito gosto e quando os pratos chegam... come-se com os olhos! Excelentes food dressings.
A sopa de ervilhas é deliciosa e vem bem servida. Pedi umas bruschettas de hummus e bacon de tempeh e... deliciosooo!!!!😄conquistou até não veganos cépticos em relação ao tempeh! Adorei.
Como sobremesa, não resisti à mousse de chocolate salpicada em maracujá e manga e adorei. Na quantidade certa para nos deixar com vontade de mais.

Read moreThe space itself is lovely with fantastic service and the food was delicious. Our only regret is that we went here on our last day and didn't have the chance to come again while in Lisbon.
We tried the mushroom tempeh burger as well as the Earth Salad. Both were beautifully plated and tasted great.
We also had the house iced tea and matcha latte - YUM.
A MUST.

Lovely place, interesting choices of food and drinks - Edit
I had the tempeh/mushroom burger between hash browns as I’d seen it recommended on Happy Cow. Not usually a fan of tempeh but this was balanced nicely with the mushroom (chunks of other rather than all mixed together). The hash browns ‘bun’ was actually more like rosti, and really nice, with a cheesy sauce. For dessert, the Caramel No.5 was delicious - sponge, with cream, nuts, caramel sauce and a crunchy topping. Also had an unusual gin cocktail, with cardamom. Good atmosphere and a few tables outside.

Read moreWe like the schedule right away, it's open since morning where we can go have breakfast if we wish.
On arrival we loved the ambiance of the restaurant, very relaxing and welcoming. When we started reading the menu we had a hard time choosing because everything seemed like a good choice.
For the entrees we ordered mushroom bruschetta, dried tomato and "parmesan", the second entrée was a trio of waffles. Both entrees were great but we liked the waffle trio more because the combinations between the 3 were excellent.
For main dishes we ordered fresh black pasta with mushrooms and truffled asparagus, it was quite good and very well made. The second dish we ordered tempeh burger and mushrooms in hashbrown, this dish was magnificent and very tasty, for me could have just a bit more salad :)
For desserts we ordered the chocolate mousse sprinkled with passion fruit and mango and the lemon tart with thyme. The mousse was very good as was the tarte but my preference was for the mousse.
Will I come back? For sure

This restaurant has the most lovely, plant filled interior and the food is delicious! The French toast was amazing (it had lots of lemon zest and vegan cream), and the coffee drinks were great! We will have to come back to try the deserts :)

A big menu to explore - Edit
I went there today, because I was curious to see what the people behind Ao26 did with the place. The menu is big and for some reason the options for drinks seem to be more than for the dishes.

Surprisingly for me, I did not like any of the dishes. The bruschetta was okay but I expected more, especially after I know what these people are capable of. Maybe my mistake is that I compare it to Ao26. The banana bread had some lemon-flavored topping that completely ruined the whole thing.
All in all, the place is cozy and there's a lot more to try from the menu. Will be back to check their other options.
