Everything You Need (and then some) - Edit
Orchard Grocer has it all! As an Angeleno, I’m not used to finding grocery stores that are comparable to Besties…..Orchard does just that (and might even rival them)! The sandwiches are heavenly. The service is friendly. The variety is great. You gotsta check them out if you’re in NYC #Veganuary

Bland & disappointing - Edit
Huge disappointment. Reading all the 5 star reviews makes this place sound amazing - sadly not the case. I tried the Monty which sounded great but was pretty much the blandest sandwich I can remember eating. It tasted like a plain roll, just a bit saltier. I asked the staff member if they could put it in the grill for me (since warm food is tastier than cold food)and they refused on the basis that “that’s the way it’s supposed to be”.

Delicious! - Edit
This was the first place I stopped for food on my last trip to NYC after finding them on Instagram. I was not disappointed, it was some of the best food I had on my trip!! I had a Reuben and it was super tasty.

Delicious breakfast sandwich - Edit
Came here for a quick bite for breakfast. My sandwich was fantastic! The lady working the counter was also super nice and helped me pick out a few treats to bring home from the store.

When you combine the coleslaw from the chicken sandwich with the strawberry soft serve, it tastes like a vintage bowling alley carpet. Please try

Favorite vegan place in NYC - Edit
Good, easy sandwiches salads and sides. Rotating flavors of soft serve and different cookies and pastries. Their mac and cheese is amazing. Such a values-based company and I love supporting them and the next-door Moo Shoes, vegan shoe and accessory store.

Good - Edit
I've tried the Francis, the Georgina, the Bowery and twice their day special. By far my favorite is the Francis and then the Georgina. The specials were really good too. The Bowery, not for me. The place is expensive!

I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of VGF items available here. Tons of artisan and run of the mill cheeses, baking goods, cereals, condiments and spreads. They even have VGF meat slices! And VGF mozzarella sticks.

Sandwich was meh - Edit
Thought I would love my sandwich from here. I got a tuna sandwich on rye. It was super basic.
Read moreOverall I was disappointed after hearing all the hype from this place. Maybe I just ordered the wrong sandwich?
I also ordered the “chicken” tenders and those were hot and tasty (with bbq sauce on the side)!

Fun - Edit
I love that all vegan spots like this exist in New York – just one of the many reasons it's my favorite city😄
Read moreThat said, this is a place that focuses a lot on substitutes for dairy and meat instead of more natural plant based foods, so gotta be in the right mood for it.
The stuff I have had has been good, but not my favorite.

No Bad Apples In This Orchard - Edit
I ordered The Miles breakfast sandwich. The heat made the croissant softer than I prefer, but it was still good. The "bacon" tasted realistic.

Best breakfast sandwich in Manhattan - Edit
Orchard Grocer is unreal. A vegan grocery store and deli with the best breakfast sandwiches in Manhattan. Nothing else comes close. If I lived nearby I would try to do most of my groceries here. The occasional sandwich will have to do for now.

I love visiting Orchard Grocer- not only is their grocery selection awesome, but so is there food! I love their sandwiches, soft serve, mac and cheese, and of course all of the delicious pastries! This is a one of a kind place. If you're in NY, you have to make a stop here. If you live here, you gotta make it a weekly trip!

Vegan Safe Haven - Edit
This was such a fun shopping experience! I came for a fried chikn tofu on a croissant with hollandaise sauce (it was THE best breakfast sandwich I have ever had). BUT, I left with marshmallows and carrot lox, as I hadn’t had them since going vegan. Something for everyone here!

Too good to be true - Edit
I love orchard grocer. I typically swing by here when I’m heading to Riverdel. I get the same salad every time, but I have tried other items like the Mac and cheese which is out of this world! There’s also a super cute vegan leather shop next door.

Daily special sandwich - Edit
I ordered the tofu fried chick’n, avocado, spicy pepperoncini, roasted red peppers, & Alabama white bbq sauce sandwich. It was really good and filling! I would have preferred a little more sauce though.
Read moreOne con is that you can only order certain sandwiches if they’re being offered as a daily special. For example you cannot order today’s sandwich tomorrow, you would have to wait until it is on special again and that is only if it gets repeated.

Never Disappoints - Edit
Two trips to NYC and both times we’ve made multiple trips to Brooklyn to try out more of their menu. “The Edith” - a bagel with house made cashew cream cheese, carrot lox, capers and chives & just the right amount of smoke - is a Favourite but we have never regretted any of our orders. Their little market is an aisle of floor to ceiling vegan products. This was where we loaded up in NYC gifts for friends and family. Delicious vegan food - you can’t go wrong 😉
