Come for the cats, don't eat francesinhas. - Edit
Small Café with old and wilted menus which you can barely read, we ordered 2 types of francesinha, the plain cheese and the sphynx with seitan and mushrooms.
Read moreWe never had francesinha before, so we don't know how it fares compared to the real deal, but our conclusion is: don't do this to yourself. Pasty white bread from a plastic bag, tasteless cheese, almost tasteless sauce with (i guess) raw garlic. The seitan was horrendous, glibbery and guess what, tasteless.
We really don't understand how other reviewers think this is something to recommend to strangers. Enemies maybe, but not strangers or friends.
When we asked why they called the bread 'cereal bread', making us expect more than bread whiter than Tilda Swinton, they said its traditional. If your tradition leads you to make this, your tradition is bad.
We just looked up the original version, which makes sense: layers upon layers of animals, guaranteeing taste.
I'm the first guy to promote vegan businesses and alternatives, but the food has to be promoteable first.
Haven't tried anything else on the menu, so there's still hope for anyone going there.
Not trying to offend anyone, just very very disappointed.

The good reviews are well earned. Great place! And for the people who are not that much into cats: dont worry, the cats are not in the restaurant itself. They are in another room which is also linked with the terrace. People can join them there and relax and/or 'play' with the cats.

One of the best. Breakfast food was perfect- I had the toastie- the interior calm and relaxing with a beautiful outdoor patio. Best of all, the cats are amazing. We fell in love with Shu and wish we were in a position to adopt him. And you know it's absolutely legit, that the cats are being taken care of and your money is going towards something positive. Go and support this cause!

I loved everything about this nice restaurant. Specially the cats! The decoration is lovely and the waiters very kind. We ordered francesinha and lemon juice, and they were fine and at a good price.

Went there for lunch in Sept 18 and were very happy. The red berry cake was amazing and we returned at the end of our holidays for more. Even took some home on the plane because it was sooo delicious.

We went to Porto specifically to visit this cafe and it was totally worth it! It has a lovely sunny terrace that you can eat your meal in, with cats just everywhere. We had the dish of the day, which was fresh and delicious and the staff were warm and welcoming. Already planning our next visit!

Very nice, stylish, cool place. We had the lunch menu with soup and a rice stir fry. Very good! Also the sweets we had afterwards were delicious and not too sweet. Plus the cats are everywhere (in the back). Nice vibe with animal lovers!

Lovely vegan cafe with cats! - Edit
We were so lucky that this was right across the street from our AirBnB. The day we arrived in Porto, we went in, very hungry and had the delicious meal of the day - soup, veggie rice and salad, with a drink - all for 8 Euros! Great value for money. We indulged in the divine vegan cakes too - the best vegan banana cake I've ever had and a yummy apple cake too! We sat in the 'no cat' area as my husband's allergic unfortunately. However, I went out to the lovely garden area in the back to see and stroke all the cats! Highly recommend this place as the staff were super friendly and helpful too. We will return!

Popped in here after going to see the cemetery, and had delicious vegan cakes. So glad we went. Cats were everywhere and were happy to be played with and petted, but there was also a section without cats too. Would go again if in the area to try more of the fully vegan menu.

Also had the blueberry brownie and the lemon cake. Delicious. Everything on their menu is vegan including the drinks.
The cats are gorgeous and most of them happy to be petted. You can do so whilst eating and drinking in the outside sitting area.
We left with lots of photos, full stomachs and a lovely "I'm a crazy cat lady" tote bag - 40% of the proceedings go to a cat shelter!
Highly recommended!

Very tasty food with a daily changing dish, we had a nice soup, and an very yummy stroganoff with rice. Also the coffee was good, while not excellent, because I personally don't like the bitter roasts.

This place is so beautiful, the backyard was my favourite. I came here for lunch and got the meal of the day including a drink, soup and olives and a main dish which was rice and tofu, very good! The staff is lovely and there are lots of cats. I also had an dessert and it was outstanding! This is a vegan paradise in Porto!

That was the first place we visited in Porto and we were not disappointed. We had francesinhas and a side of homemade fries. Amazing! Cats basically ignored us - I guess they have too much attention daily :) We tipped the waitress and she said that she will use the money for cats - which was cool. Place worth going to, that's for sure.
