Cute place, good food... And cats! - Edit
The place's interior is super cute. I had the francesinha which was really delicious. The only two small downers were that the fries were not crispy enough for my taste and the lemonade was rather warm, but I asked for ice cubes and that was no problem, so no biggie. Totally recommendable!

Num grupo de 4 raparigas esfomeadas por uma boa refeição vegan, uma de nós era alérgica a gatos. No entanto, mesmo n'O Porto dos Gatos, isso não foi um problema! Apesar de ser um restaurante amoroso com gatos a dormirem à janela, O Porto dos Gatos tem vários espaços onde se pode apreciar a maravilhosa comida, ainda que sofra de alergia a gatos. Nós optámos pela esplanada, no entanto na minha próxima visita os gatos vão receber o maior carinho do mundo!! 😻
Read moreFalando agora na comida. A estrela na mesa foi o Catchorrão, um cachorro quente com um tamanho razoável e com uma salsicha que nos fez questionar o seu realismo. Estava ótimo, ficámos super satisfeitas e ainda terminámos a nossa visita com uma maravilhosa fatia de bolo de coco. Recomendo!

This has become my ‘local’ in Porto and it’s been a great experience every time. There are plenty of options to choose from (the menu says vegetarian but apparently everything is vegan), and the food is of high quality and excellent value.
Read moreThe space is excellently designed too. Being a cat café there are plenty of furry friends to keep you company. But, thoughtfully, there are three spaces to sit and relax in. The main cafe room gives you the option to enjoy a meal away from the cats. There’s a separate room indoors where the cats tend to sleep; you can’t eat In there but you can relax with a book or pet the cats. Outside is a beautiful terrace with succulents and both sunny and shady spots. Out here, you’re free to enjoy a meal with the cats, while they roam in and out of the building.
On top of all that, the staff here are super friendly and helpful. Usefully for the Portuguese-language impaired like myself, the team speak English and there is a menu written in English too.

O ambiente é lindo, muito bem decorado e aconchegante. Há um espaço separado onde ficam os gatinhos muito fofos e também tem mesas do lado de fora. Pedi o brunch, o qual é composto por suco, bebida quente, brownie, pão com queijo, um pãozinho e iogurte com frutas e granola. Tudo maravilhoso!

The outside garden is beautiful and sunny and you will have the friendly cats jumping on top of you for cuddles and trying to sniff your food. Food was also delish!

Visited here on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was busy. Loved the vibe here. The menu had lots of great options and was fully vegan. I had a mushroom and aubergine toastie which was delicious. The cats reside in a different part of the place so you have the option of spending time with them or not, which I liked.

I am so happy to find such a cozy place where I can enjoy my time with friends and also alone for myself. The cakes are heaven on earth! You won't regret any choice and will love each cake you will try for sure!

So lovely people, I always leave with a full heart (and a full belly of the best chocolate cake in the world - I am still in love with it, just while thinking about it :D) ;)

A truly beautiful place, doing something really remarkable. The food is very tasty with lots of options and the service is also very good. The fact that is it a cat rescue makes it so much better, it’s so good to see a vegan restaurant doing more for the animals in this way. all the cats there are currently up for adoption and have been either abounded or abused in the past. It’s lovely to see them so relaxed and the way the whole place flows is very well so as not to intrude on the cats too much. Anyone visiting Porto should definitely visit this wonderful restaurant

Read moreVeganism is mainly about animal rights and “O Porto do Gatos” belongs to an animal welfare NGO, with more than 14 cats living in the cafe. They live there, are awesomely treated by the staff, get cuddles from the clients and have the possibility to be adopted by any client, any time.
If this wasn’t reason enough for the five stars, the fully vegan menu is awesome. If you ask for the brunch you have: a hot beverage, a cold beverage, a scone, a toast, a cake slice and an yougurt with fruits and granola for 10 euros only. Everything super tasty, with amazing presentation and well served. The staff is also amazing, and the mission of this cafe will have my heart and my respect forever.

I tried the brunch ( just ask the brunch if you are hungry, because it’s very well served) everything it’s super tasty, the yougurt with granola it’s awesome and also the scones are very good.
The venue it’s super cozy and the staff it’s very friendly.

Cozy café with the option to sit outside with the cats. However, it was raining during our visit so we sat inside. I was absolutely amazed by the sandwich ("Ragdoll" with mushrooms, grilled bell peppers and vegetable feta cheese)! The waiters were very friendly and spoke English very well. Later we went into the room with cats. Though most cats were sleeping, one jumped on my lap for a good old petting session💗

If you love cats, you are in for a real treat if you come here. I found eating with the company of rescued cats yo be a zen experience. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a lovely back patio, and the food is the best I had in the city. I ordered a traditional vegan veraion of a Porto favorite.. the Francesinha, made with vegan meats, vegan cheese and bread, and smothered in a savory sauce. Delicious!

Cute place, but the menus were so worn out could not read them. Very awkward... owner nice but we did not feel welcome. The food we did end up getting was not great. Over priced compared to other vegan restaurants with more selection. It did seem fresh however. We tried to like it..
