Hidden Himalayan gem - Edit
Authentic Himalayan food hidden into a vegan food store. I felt like real guest in someone’s home. Enjoying the three-course meal and herbal tea in a quiet garden under a peach tree. It was silent and perfect place to switch yourself off.

A-MA-ZING!! - Edit
This place is the best of the best! The whole menu is for 7.50€ and they even have a garden and a small vegan shop. Here you can find vegan cheese and vegan salami for half price (like 1.70€ cheese slices 🧀). The people working there are Hare Krishna and I adored them! The food is so amazing!!

Great homemade food - Edit
The atmosphere was great. It is in a quiet corner of Porto. The patio has a great view. All of the food is made that morning. There is just one option per day and is self serve/buffet due to covid. We had a tofu curry. The owners are very nice and friendly.

Interesting place. - Edit
Went in there, and the nice Portuguese lady brought us tablets of the lunch menu. I guess there was some sort of miscommunication ongoing between us.
Read moreFood wasnt that great but ok. There were some cats in and outside the place, not a fan of that personally.
Price for the combo-menu was 7€ which is fair.

Great view and affordable meals - Edit
A nice place in Porto's city centre with a great view and a small garden. It's very affordable (7€ for soup, main dish, dessert and tea, sometimes also bread and vegan cheese) and meals are often simple but fresh and tasty. They feed the cats so it's normal to see them walking around (especially if you sit outside) but for me this is a plus. Everything always looks very clean (so was surprised seeing the negative comment below). It's a Hare Krishna place so no alcohol; it's also a simple, unpretentious place so don't expect super elaborate, refined meals.

Do not recommend - Edit
Unfortunately we had a really bad experience.
Read moreFirst the smell was really bad inside so we deceived to eat outside.
They have cats from the street walking inside, in the kitchen as well.
We asked how it works and without no explanation they put the food infront of us. First it looks good, but the food was full with bugs and worms. Also the taste of everything was not good. Weird combination of Sweet and salty and cinnamon.
But well, the worms in the soup have been disgusting.
I don’t recommend this place at all.

3 cows for good, average food - Edit
I gave this restaurant three cows because I thought the food was okay, but average. The lunch of the day is 7 euros as of July 2019. Today's meal came with a juice drink, a bowl of soup, the main plate with four items and a fruity dessert. While the food was good, I consider it to be just average.

High hopes - Edit
I excitedly took my vegetarian sisters here. We really wanted to love every dish, as the owner was extremely nice and attentive, and I like supporting vegetarian places. However, the lentil soup that came out for the menú tasted like it hadn’t really been seasoned. I got the vegan chorizo, and my sisters ordered the stroganoff. The chorizo was decent, but the stroganoff again left some things to be desired and was a pretty small portion for the price. The vegetarian dessert option was a mango mousse with a good flavor but the vegan option was a pastry from another city that was trying to be a pastel de nata but seemed deflated. Since the menu is seasonal, I would still recommend checking it out because I really appreciate her business and the good they do for the community, but we unfortunately left a little underwhelmed.

Cult with a view - Edit
Alas, this was the only vegetarian place we could find that was open.
Read moreThe food was dry, bland and heavy (imagine a fusion portuguese + asian cuisines ... but with only the least interresting aspects of each cuisine).
The view was nice, but atmosphere was extremely awkward; the hare krishna soundtrack in particular. A glas of wine would have cheered us up.... But they don't serve any.
To sum up, it's typically the kind of place that give vegetarian restaurants a terrible reputation: I was with an omnivore portuguese friend, and this disappointing experience put me in a very uncomfortable position, since I'm not sure I'll ever be able to convince them to try a vegetarian place again. :'(
Pros: The View
Cons: The awkward vibe, the food was uninterresting, En plus, c'est sans alcool

Qué a gusto... - Edit

Loja e restaurante - Edit

Oasis in the city - Edit
Cozy, simple, home-feeling place, people and food. They have a different menu every day with soup dish desert tea for only 7€. They also have a shop with good healthy food and bio produts. The view is amazing, on sunny days you can seat on the balcony outside with cats and a peach tree. Highly recommend it!

Not bad - Edit
This is an old place, from the times when vegetarian restaurants were a rarity and the only one that survived. It's located in an old house, with stone walls, which gives it a great ambiance. The food is usually nice considering the low prices but don't expect nothing extraordinary. Also be aware that the francesinha (which I don't appreciate but some do) is very, very different from the traditional one.

Lacking... - Edit
We had a bad experience at this restaurant. Upon arrival the waiter brought us the soup without explaining the concept. They work with 'Menu do Dia' meaning that they serve either the menu of the day (soup, main, dessert and tea) or the famous francesinha. When we asked for the vegan francesinha the waiter informed us that they were missing one ingredient, she checked with the chef and it turned out to be the potato fries. We still ordered it. The sauce is made with carrots which is very thick and the bread is not toasted. If you use the name francesinha inform the customers that this is a transformation of the recipe.
