Makes vegan Japanese food including udon noodles in different broths, plus fried vegetables on rice, and teishoku sets which include miso soup. Has cake and cookies. Japanese tea is served. German, English, and Japanese spoken. Open Tue-Fri 17:00-22:00, Sat-Sun 14:00-22:00. Kitchen closes 9:30pm.

Hidden gem in Kalk - Edit
This all-vegan place is a cozy restaurant where you can find gorgeous Japanese food and cake at a very reasonable price. Not only is the food authetic and nearly everything is handmade, from the Udon noodles to the spices, the pickles and the cakes, they apply Japanese techniques to regional and seasonal ingredients as well (had some radish kohlrabi pickles which were really good, loved the innovation!!). I also have never seen shiso lemonade in Japan before, which is available here. They also sell unique merchandise such as prints, t-shirts and canvas bags. The vegan tiramisu was so freakin good, the pear pudding cake was a little bit too heavy for me but my sister loved it anyways. Make sure to make a reservation since this place is always well visited.

The best udon noodles ever! We have the golden udon and the spicy udon and they were incredible so happy we found it. The service was great, everyone was so friendly and happy to help us out. We absolutely loved it here!! You must must go!

Udon made on world-class level. Excellent cake. Coffee very good & fair trade. Very good buckwheat tea (!). In side street close to subway stop "Kalk Post", around 7 stops f/ central train station. Rough part of town that slowly becomes hip; no histers, though. Politically left people, no health bullshit. Inside, around 25 seats. Reserve, it's packed. Gender-cool environment.

You have to get up and order/pay, which is no problem for me. The price was very good! And nice atmosphere.
The best surprise was the cheese cake which was the most delicious cheese cake I have ever tried (including non-vegan cheese cakes)!!

I ordered the garlic udon and vegetable tempura with no rice.
The broth was rich and super flavorful, and the noodles were very fresh. The tempura was light and very tasty. The prices are very reasonable.

One of my favorite places in cologne! - Edit
A super cosy udon restaurant which is located just 15 min. from "Köln Messe". Besides japanese food (Udon noodles, tendon & soups) they also serve vegan cakes, brownies and tasty cookies. The staff is always very friendly and courteous, I have been there multiple times since they opened and its always a great experience.
