Authentic & Vegan! - Edit
Everything is amazing here. My favorite is the chickpea combo. Their curried veggies are my favorite side, along with the lentils! Eat with a friend and mix and match until you try as much of the menu as possible. Their injera is so fresh and plentiful! Their food is also so amazing if you put it all in a pan the next morning and eat it for breakfast.

Amazing food without too much oil - Edit
I loved how many options they had and everything is vegan. The food tastes amazing and comes with so much injera. Would go back in a heartbeat to try more options.

Delicious mush! - Edit
I haven't eaten Ethiopian very much, so this was a pretty new experience for me. I enjoyed everything I ate, though there isn't much variety in the textures. Big flavor though, and it came with more injera bread than I needed. Delivered fast and fresh.

Incredible - Edit
I love Ethiopian food. I’m so thrilled to have this all vegan option - before transitioning I always loved the peas, lentils, and okra to be my favorite parts. So happy to have a place that focuses directly on that!

Good Ethiopian food! - Edit
As with most Ethiopian food, it took longer to arrive than expected, and they were out of sambusas, but the vegetable combos were tasty and seemed to be on the lower end of the greasiness spectrum.

Fabulously Delicious Food - Edit
Consulted Happy Cow for a vegan meal while breezing through this city. This is a little hole in the wall place with absolutely delicious Ethiopian Food. First time having Injera and it won't be my last hopefully! Everything we had was tasty with just the right amount of heat. I would highly recommend this as not only vegan, but great whole food and plant based. The owner was friendly and delightful. I wish there was food like this closer to my home.

Nile Vegan is a Must Try! - Edit
Nile Vegan serves up Ethiopian comfort food in a relaxed spot on the southern part of OSU’s campus (close to King & Neil!). They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner- and it’s all delicious! If you’ve never had Ethiopian food before the friendly staff walk you through the custom of eating with your hands (and utensils are available upon request), and if you’re a long-time-Ethiopian-food-lover Nile Vegan will not disappoint!

Wow - great vegan Ethiopian food! - Edit
I love Ethiopian food, which has traditionally offered vegetarian options. I was delighted that Nile Vegan opened with all vegan menu items, so I can order anything on the menu. I've been twice, and both times ordered the combo #4 which has yellow split peas as the centerpiece. Everything on my plate was great, including the injera bread. I've heard good things about the coffee, but haven't tried it myself. The service was good and the staff very friendly and accommodating. This is a very small restaurant with limited seating, so my recommendation is to go at an off-peak time or order carry-out.

Amazing but out of something every time - Edit
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD but every single time I’ve gone they are out of something which sucks. Today they were out of that amazing bread so I decided to go somewhere else for dinner. Again, food is amazing but overall really disappointing when you can’t get what you wanted for dinner

Great food, casual atmosphere - Edit
We read about Nile Vegan in the newspaper and decided to try it!
Read moreIt definitely some of the best vegan food we've had in Columbus!
The atmosphere is super casual which at first threw us a bit since it is quite a small dine-in space, but we really enjoyed the staff and the food more than made up for it.
Pros: Food is great, Workers were helpful and friendly
Cons: Out of a few items on a Saturday night....

It's the spices! - Edit
I've never had Ethiopian food before, and to be honest, it doesn't give the appearance of being tasty when I look at photos of it. It looks like baby food. However, I gave this place a chance since they are 100% vegan. I purchased the "mushroom combo" to go. The taste was amazing! The SPICES make every bite heavenly. It filled me up very fast too.
Read moreNote that this is a very small place, I think there are only 3 tables. You'll have to find a place to park alongside the street as there is no parking lot. There's a couple of paid parking spots (meters) directly across the street and when I arrived nobody was in them.
If ordering carryout, I would not call too far in advance. The compostable containers gets soggy very quickly.
Give this place a chance. It's a vegan experience unlike any other.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to, period - Edit
I can’t recommend this place enough. The owners are the nicest people in the world, and the food is incredible. Lots of typical vegan fare done Ethiopian style: legumes and tofu mixed with delicious spices, a variety of veggies, and - of course - injera. The prices are decent, too. What more could you want?
Read moreYou should expect to stay at least 40 minutes when you come here, as it could take a bit of time to get your food ready. They seem to prepare most of it as it’s ordered. But I assure you, it’s well worth the wait.
