I took an omnivore friend to this spot. We both went for the Big Guy (double patty) burger. He was blown away, as was I. Great burger. The side, in my case tater tots, was also tasty and a lot of fun. There is plenty of seating outside.

We visited the Newport Beach /Costa Mesa area over the weekend! We found this place because of Happy Cow! The owner/manager was so friendly and gave us his recommendations! We had the mushroom burger and sweet potato fries!!! Omgggg!!! This was so amazing that we had the bacon BBQ Burger in a lettuce wrap delivered the next day! The driver forgot our tea…. But we were enjoying his delicious our food was… that we completely forgot about the tea!

Amazing food and fantastic service at this little restaurant. We had a little bit of a wait for our food, but they made sure that we were comfortable and brought over and turned on a gas heater near our outdoor table. The food was delicious. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was very flavorful and tasty. My brother and sister split a different burger and got animal style tots! Here’s the picture of their meal. Definitely recommend checking this place out. Even my meat eating dad and brother were impressed.

I have been to hundreds of vegan spots throughout the country, and this is the best vegan comfort food I’ve tried so far. I don’t even live in CA, but I’ve made trips to the area specifically to get food from here. The spicy chicken sandwich is amazing, and those pickle chips are the best. The people creating this food know how to cook!! Been to many a vegan junk food place, and this is. the. BEST!

Wanted to love the place but I really am not a fan of impossible or beyond meats. Checked the website to see what they made their patty’s of to no avail. Ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and it came with what I believe to be a beyond patty. Everything else was fantastic, though. Would love to try a chicken sandwich next time

I've had a lot of vegan burgers at a lot of vegan places and hands down this is the best. The char, the sauce, the gooey cheese. Perfection. My omni mother hates that I drag her to vegan places. She always complains. ALWAYS. She didn't complain, she even said it was good. Do you understand the weight of this? Best burger. Worth it. Go now.

If you take a non vegan person there the person will not be able to tell that all the burgers and sandwiches are vegan. There is no reason for anyone to say they miss a good burger after becoming vegan because that place makes the best burger and fish sandwich!
Read moreThe service was very good! The only reason I don’t give them 5 stars was because the tables were dirty and the heater was missing the propane tank so we froze on the patio and there were no tables inside. But other than that we loved it!!

Read moreI can see why there are so many great reviews. Nice guys is good...really good. It legitimately tastes like a non-vegan burger. You could get takeout from here and remove the packaging and serve the burgers to non-vegan family and they’d have no idea that it was vegan.
We ordered: the nice burger, nice bacon burger, fries, tater tots and “worlds best vegan chicken nuggets”.
The burgers are ridiculous. Everything about them - so good. The bun with sesame seeds is crisp around the edges from being toasted but also very light and soft. We looooved that they have thick slices of pickles and a good amount of onion on the burgers and they don’t skimp on the sauces (mayo/ketchup). The cheese was great as well.
My husband loved the bacon. I tried some and it tasted very much like ham...the way vegan food has evolved is crazy.
The fries were great. Freshly fried. Crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Not one brown overcooked fry. I like crispy fries and my husband likes the softer ones and there were some soft ones so it was perfect since we shared.
The tots were great too. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper crisp on the outside and really soft in the middle. Perfect.
The “worlds best vegan chicken nuggets”. They had an epic outer crispness with a meat like texture on the inside. The texture was so good but I personally didn’t love the flavour. They had a slight sweetness and a certain flavour that I can’t quite describe. I wouldn’t say they’re bad but I personally didn’t love that sweetness/taste.
Overall, it was pretty epic. I feel like all the people down the street at the other fast food place should just come to Nice Guys - save animals and still get epic fast food that tastes delicious. If and when back in the area and craving some burgers and fries - WE’LL BE BACK!

These are the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had. Period. The spicy chicken burger is my go-to; it tastes so authentic it was actually quite alarming the first time I ate here. Plus, they’ve got tots! The people who work here are sweethearts too, and it’s really obvious they care a lot about what they do.

Alissa and Annabel were super slammed and still took the time to acknowledge us and tell us they would be right with us. They were so helpful with the menu items and the food is very delicious- we had the BBQ burger and Cali burger- YUM!

You walk in and they recognize you. It has the delicious fast food smell but without the guilt. Love the food and would eat there daily if we could. Kids love it too. Try everything on the menu- we have.

The people were so nice. The place was very clean. The food was amazing! We tried the BBQ bacon, spicy chicken, mushroom burg, mexicali burg, tater tots, sweet potato fries, and the cheese sticks. Everything we got was awesome. Fresh full of flavor and the carbroiled patties were so so so good!

Wow!! If I could give them 10 stars I would! When I first read the review for this restaurant I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, it sounded too good to be true. They were spot on. I am a vegan and my two friends who I was traveling with are not but are always gracious about supporting my choices. We found this gem and came back the next day before heading home. The burgers are outstanding!! I honestly can say it is one of the best burgers I have ever had even compared to my meat burgers I had before becoming a vegan over two years ago. We also tried the "nutzeralla" sticks and tater tots and they were divine. The dipping sauces are delicious (and I am a dipper) and the soda which I usually steer clear of is made with pure cane sugar and was super yummy. The staff were super helpful and kind and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to both vegans and non-vegans and cannot wait to return for some delicious comfort food!! Thank you for your amazing restaurant and the impact you are making to our environement.

Had the Mexicali burger combo after a long hike. It was very delicious. One of the better vegan burgers I’ve tasted and the bacon seems to be pretty close to the real deal. Can’t really remember what it’s supposed to taste like. Anyways, fries are good and they have outdoor seating. Good service overall but I think they should invest more into the exterior look. Looks too “hole in the wall” to match their great food
