Great New Juice Bar

Exciting to try out this new juice place in Santa Monica. It seems much more wholesome than jamba, and offers some interesting juice combinations & smoothies. I tried The Cure, which includes kale, broccoli, parsley, grapes, and apples. Prices are very reasonable and the space is large, clean, and inviting. Hope it does well as the location is a little off 3rd. I'll be back for an acai bowl when the weather's warmer.

Pros: Nice Space, Good Combos, Inexpensive

Cons: No Real Food Offered

Awful service

Indifferent staff. Waited 15 minutes for my order - asked and they'd totally missed it. No apology and took another 5 minutes to get a refund.

Good açaí bowl

I got a banana berry açaí bowl and it was pretty good (not as good as say bluebowl or jamba juice) and id return however the only con was that the base was premade and in a fridge so it wasn’t as fresh/frozen as I would have liked.

Pros: Use agave rather than honey

Cons: Premade açaí base

Mediocre acai bowl

We love getting acai, usually at least one day a weekend for breakfast. Since moving to Santa Monica, we've found lots of great acai in the surrounding area (West Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, Pacific Palisades...), but despite the amount of options in Santa Monica, have struggled to find one we really love here!

Nekter is in a well-located spot near Third Street Promenade. It has a very healthy, hip vibe to it, with advertisements for their juice cleanses and their benefits hanging on the walls. There's a large juice menu, as well as a large acai bowl menu, with some interesting looking creations (and calories posted next to each - your "healthy" juice no longer looks so healthy!). My husband and I both got the basic berry acai bowl. He thought the bowls looked on the smallish side, so we ordered three to split. At about $7.50 each, they're well-priced if you just get two of them. It turned out two likely would have been enough. The acai itself was just okay - not nearly as sweet as other acai bowls we've had. They were a bit busy when we went too, but our bowls weren't blended great. There were some large, chunky pieces of frozen fruit still in the mix. As I alluded to above, there was a good amount of acai and granola in each bowl - I'd asked them to go light on granola, and it was still a good bit! There was a mix of banana, blueberries and strawberries on top, and again, they didn't skimp here either. While agave was in the mix, it would have been nice to have the option to get honey on top at the end, as this would have added a nice touch of sweetness.

Overall, service was friendly enough. We maybe spent eight minutes eating in the shop, and we parked outside and had put 30 minutes on the meter, but used the whole 30, so it wasn't necessarily the quickest. Given the amount of availability of acai in the area, we likely won't be back too soon.

Nice juice and smoothie bar

The prices seemed reasonable for California standards. A 16 oz juice was $5.50. Had the Buzz which was lovely with orange, lemon and ginger. The place is rather large but still pleasant. They offer cleanses to go as well as made to order juices, smoothies and acai bowls. Calories provided on the menu.

Pros: Calories provided

Yum

Nice little store in Santa Monica. We just came off the plane at LAX and drove to Santa Monica to see family. I needed a juice and she took us to Nekter. They have lots of options and many green juices. The juice is made fresh. Different sizes are available. The juice was delicious. Great place. Great service. Helpful employees. Clean.

Pros: Fresh and delicious, Clean, Great service

Good for a fresh juice or a smoothie

I had read about this on happycow, and here's my Nektar Juice bar review.

This particular branch just opened this month. I was surprised to see that it occupies such a big space for a juice bar. The menu offers fresh juices, smoothies, plus a few acai bowls. On the counter by the register are a few snacks foods (not all vegan). Next to the counter is a fridge case with pre-pressed juices and juice cocktails.

Not sure if the veggies and fruits are organic at all, but the prices for a 16 ounce juice cost around $4.50-5.00 which is cheap for Santa Monica.

It's located next to Santa Monica Power Yoga on 2nd street, so I saw some yoga students come by, too. Because the space is so big, the place doesn't feel as cozy as it could be.

Next time I'll come back to try an acai bowl.
